Advantages: a good face mask for the price, leaves skin soft and smooth

Disadvantages: slightly clinical fragrance

As much as I would love to be able to nip to the salon on a regular basis to have facials this is not something that my current budget will stretch too. So I tend to buy face masks and have DIY pamper nights at home. One brands of facemasks that I regularly by is the Montagne Jeunesse range these can be found in quite a lot of stores including Wilkinson's where I usually buy mine from.

The Montagne Jeunesse masks come in a huge range containing masks for all different skin types, results, and also different masks specifically designed for men. The masks are available in individually sachets which contain one treatment. Recently I have noticed that some of the most popular masks are now available in larger tubes too. I paid just £0.99 for the last mask that I purchased which was the Blemish Mud Mask from Asda.

The mask came in a foil lined packet which has a small cut at the top which allows you to just tear the sachet open. I did try and tear the sachet but found it just would not budge so took a pair of scissors to it instead to snip the corner off.

I will say that this is not the best fragranced face mask that I have tried in the range as it smells quite clinical. You can certainly notice the Aloe Vera and witch hazel fragrance that seems to overpower the more subtle willow and Rosemary. This particular mask is meant to target blemish prone skin for a clean complexion.

On the back of the sachet there are the instructions for use of the mask. This is put into four clear steps with pictures as well as written instructions. The four stage application process is as follows:
- Cleanse face
- Apply mask
- Relax for 10 - 15 minutes
- Rinse mask off

The mask itself when I squeezed it out of the sachet was very thick and a very pale green colour. I found it very easy to apply the mask to my skin it smoothed on evenly and easily. I did find that I only needed to use half the amount contained in the sachet as you do get quite a lot. This makes the masks even better value for money as if you only snip a small corner of the sachet off to open it then you can easily keep the rest for a few days and use again for another application.

Although I was not overly impressed with the initial fragrance of the mask when it was on I didn't really notice it that much. I left the mask on for around 15 minutes and by this time the mask had almost fully dried and had a dry green clay like appearance. I washed the mask off with a cotton flannel and warm water, it was much easier to get off then I expected it to be and I was very impressed with the results. My skin looked much fresher and smoother. I do have some areas of enlarged pores on my cheeks and chin and these appeared much smaller after using the mask. This mask is meant to help prevent blemishes, I would not say that I got any less blemishes than usual after using this mask but it did certainly help my skin to feel smoother and fresher. I would certainly purchase this mask again and would recommend anyone to try it as for the price it is a great mask which gives your skin a nice boost.

Summary: A great little face mask to give your skin a boost!
