      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Effective outcome, but not as nice to use as some

I received a large selection of Montagne Jeunesse face packs for Christmas and look forward to trying them and reviewing them!

Yesterday I selected the 'anti-stress Hot Masque for normal, oily and T-zone skin' which states it will cleanse and moisturise the skin. The front of the pack pictures a woman with an orangey face pack on, that looks to be thick and rich. That is, the product looks thick and rich, not the woman. She has leaves and halved apricots over her eyes. Apricots feature in the product too, with another key ingredient being almond oil. Two almonds are depicted in the bottom left of the pack, also on some leaves, adding to the natural image that Montagne Jeunesse seek to convey. The face masque comes in a foil pack that contains 20ml of product. This is probably enough for two uses, but as I now have so many and use them so infrequently I decided to use each pack all in one go.

'To benefit fully' Montagne Jeunesse recommend that you cleanse your face first. I must say I feel a little short-changed by this as the product says it cleanses, so why would I want to cleanse first? I am not wearing make-up, anyway, I want to get the best experience so I slosh some water over my face and towel dry.

Then, rather cheekily, the instructions tell you that the pack should be put in hand hot water for a minute to heat the masque up. Sheesh! This really takes the biscuit, I thought. I had specifically chosen the hot masque since there was snow outside and I wanted to be warmed. I had assumed this masque would be one of those self-heating ones...but no. So, I slung the pack into my hot bath and having divested myself of my vestments clambered in after it.

Of course, then I had to open the foil pack and my hands were wet so I struggled. Considerately, Montagne Jeunesse provide a perforated section at the top of the pack, but with wet hands I could not open it. Nor could I open it with dry hands, and resorted to using a fingers and teeth combo. Before all this started I had considered for some time whether the choice of an anti-stress masque was the best one since I was not feeling stressed at all. However, at this stage stress levels were mounting: in future I will keep a pair of scissors handy for easy foil sachet opening.

Once open it was very easy to follow the next instructions of applying the product: 'to face and neck avoiding the lips and eyes, leave for 10-15 minutes. Relax. Rinse. Pat dry'.

The product was far from the thick, rich, orangey gloop on the cover of the pack. MJ do state that colours of products will vary due to their use of natural ingredients, however, the texture of the contents was also different: thin, runny and not luxurious in the slightest. Although warm initially from the heat of the bath, it soon cooled. The scent that first hit me was rose, followed later by something resembling clary sage, although neither of these actually feature in the product. I don't like rose at all, but the combination was relaxing to inhale and I began to appreciate the experience. For reference, the ingredients list chamomile flower oil, apricot oil and sweet almond oil as well as 'parfum (fragrance)'. My olfactory experience is rather limited. I do not know what chamomile smells like so perhaps that was the rose type smell.
After ten minutes my skin was beginning to tingle. When rinsed my skin did feel noticeably smoother and moisturised and pores had definitely been cleansed. This feeling continued throughout the following day. So despite my initial misgivings this turned out to be a very effective product. It loses two stars because of the unpleasant runnyness and the fact you have to heat it yourself.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        I wouldn't buy this again!

As I have said in my other reviews I love these face masks. This particular one was given to me in my stocking last Christmas. As with the other masks in the range you can get this for 99p in most supermarkets and in Boots. A sachet contains 20g of mask which is described as being for one use.

This particular mask is for normal or oily skin and is designed to cleanse and moisturise. The main ingredients are almond oil and apricot.

To use this mask as with the others in the range you simply need to cleanse your skin with warm water and apply to your face leaving on for 10-15 mins before rinsing with clean water. This is a hot mask so as soon as it comes into contact with your skin it heats up to open pores and cleanse deeply. The first thing I noticed when opening the sachet was the sickly smell of almonds. It wasn't very nice at all, it smelt almost artificial despite the mask only having natural ingredients. It also had a horrible sticky consistency, I didn't find that it spread on my face very well. It also run through my fingers and ended up all over the bathroom sink, which was annoying as it was hard to remove using a cloth just coated the sink in a sticky mess!

        This mask does not dry.

After 15 minutes I rinsed the mask off which took a long time as it was so sticky all I can liken it to is PVA glue! it is that horrendous! My skin looked clean but I didn't feel my pores had been cleansed at all. I was also disappointed with the heating claims as it only lasted a very short time.

I wouldn't buy this mask again it was far too messy to use and there are better ones in the range.

        one I should use again

Found myself this mask at the local pharmacie, and used it yesterday. Enjoy reading!
        About Montagne Jeunesse
Montagne Jeunesse (Garden of Youth) is a company founded in the UK, which is specialized in beauty products like hair and facemasks, foot scrubs and face scrubs, and recently (2010) started to sell lip balms as well. The company's website can be found at www.montagnejeunesse.com and offers a colorful experience. Montagne Jeunesse offers products which can be used for all hair and skin types and all the Montagne Jeunesse products are recognizable because of their colorful little sachets. Their products can be found at the regular pharmacies and of course online.

        About this apricot hot mask
This mask can be used for normal, T zone and dry skin. The package is yellow/orange, showing a lady with covered eyes and the mask on her face. The mask is best applied after scrubbing your face and drying it. The mask cost me about 1.40 Pounds but sometimes you'll find it cheaper (on Amazon.co.uk it only costs you 0.99 P). The mask becomes hot immediately when applied to the face. You do not need to reheat the pack before use. Simply tear open the package, put the substance on your fingers/hands and massage the mask onto your face. The mask itself isn't too thick, so be careful it doesn't drip of from your hands. Once applied to your face, let it do its job for about 10-15 minutes. After that time, rinse your face with warm water and you skin should be soft and smooth and have an apricot smell.
        The effect
I was pleased with this mask. I like hot masques but the last time I tried one, I disliked the smell it had, but this apricot smell is perfect. Soft but fruity and after using the mask (which I could rinse of easily!) I felt my skin was fresh, healthy and cleaned again. If you use this mask once a week, you are sure to have a nice and freshly looking skin.

Overall, a great mask, nice and fruity, very nice to give it a try!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Great results from the first use and nice and warm

I love using face masks so when I seen this one I just could not help myself although I was weary at first with it containing heat but it was really good actually and my skin felt amazing afterwards.

So this particular face mask is really distinctive and one of the first in their range of heat masks. It comes in a small plastic packet shaped oddly so you can usually find them hanging up on the end of a shop row. So it is easy to spot.

so the formula comes out in a really thick creamy blob, so my advise is make sure your hair is up and out of the way unless you are washing your hair after using this as it is messy.

It is really easy to spread and very delicate on the skin it even smells lush just like apricots so it is lovely worth the smell!

As you apply this to your face you can feel it slowly heating your skin and opening your pores so you get a deep treatment, do not panic though as the heat is very mild and does not last the full length of the treatment. This formula provides deep skin care to help with skin troubles like spots and targets oily zones.

You leave the formula on for 30 mins or until it is dry then gentle wash it off with luke warm water and pat dry then look in the mirror to see the great results.

All this cost just 89p I'm a regular user and do it at least twice a month as I love pampering my face! Give it ago you will love it.

Montagne Jeunesse Apricot & Almond Oil Hot Masque

I suggested this as a product to dooyoo ages ago actually before I had even used it. I got this as one of the masks in a top to toe Montagne Juenesse set I treated myself to a few weeks ago but I actually only got around to using it last night. Getting my first cheque from dooyoo this morning has kicked my arse into gear to get a few reviews done today and consideing I only used this yesterday I thought all the information would be fresh in my mind for this review.

Im always a bit consious when it comes to using heat masks on my face just in case they burn my skin or something but I have tried other "heat masks" by this range and Ive never had a problem so I just pushed any concern I had to the back of my mind.

A Bit About The Product [According To The Back Of The Packet]:
This mask is not only a heat mask but is is also Apricot and Almond scented. The heating effect in this mask is said to relieve stress whilst being sensous and comforting. The end results is said to leave your skin feeling richly mositurised and smooth.
This mask is also gluten and paraben free and although it doesnt say anywhere on the packaging I believe this mask is suitable for vegetarians because most of the Montagne range are.

This mask is designed for people with dry to oily skin and is designed specifically for your t-zone area although it can be sued all over your face and neck.

        Application:
This can be a messy process because it is contained in a tiny sliver of plastic and you have to scoop it out with your fingers. You just scoop out generous amounts of this cream and start to apply it all over your face and neck trying to cover every part of the skin evenly.

Then I think your meant to leave it on for about 15 minutes but I usually sit there for at least half an hour with one of these masks on.

The Montagne Juenesse website that you should spend a few minutes massaging this into your skin whilst applying because if you do that then the results will turn out better in the end.

I managed to get two full mask out of this one packet so you should be able to get at least two applications out of one 20ml packet.

        The Mask:
This mask is a really nice calming peach colour and just from looking at it in the packet you can tell that it is really creamy and nourishing. It feels a lot like yoghurt when your applying it which means it goes on really evenly and feels proper creamy as soon as you put it on your face. It doesnt start heating up immediately but it starts to heat so slowly over the time you have it on your face that you hardly notice it, so my concerns about it buring my face didnt happen in the end. Phew.

        The Smell:
To be honest before I used this I had absolutley no idea what apricots smelled like and still being honest I still dont. I think you could definately smell the nuts over anything else but it smelled quite like a toffee youghurt to me which is odd considering there is no toffee in this mask but it smelt quite nice all the same. The smell is really light compared to other masks from this range but you can still get a slight whiff of nuttiness every now and again.

        Getting It Off:
This only take about 1 minute tops and all you do is rinse your face with warm water and then towel dry. Some people like to apply some moisturiser after washing it off but if Im honest I dont really think you need to.

        The Results:
I noticed when I took this off that my skin did look slightly red but I reckon that because the mask goes into your pores and digs out all the dirt and the bad things in your skin so that didnt bother me to much. I dont recommend applying this just before you go out though because the redness does last a good half an hour. My skin did feel proper soft after I had used this though but I did find I had to put on some extra moisturser afterwards, basically because my face was still quite hot and it needed cooling down. Other than that though I could feel and see the massive difference in my skin because it did feel a lot softer and smoother and I think that had a lot to do with the extra massaging I did when I was applying it.

        Price & Stockists:
This mask is around 79p from Bodycare stores, I think it is stocked in shops like Boots & Superdrug but not as cheaply.

        Overall Opinion:
I will definately be using this mask again when my next Montagne set arrives because I do think it made a really positive difference in my skin. I dont think the added "heat" element did anything extra special for my skin but at the same time it didnt make it any worse either but I do think it made the smell a lot fainter compared to other masks from this range. I do recommend this mask to everyone who wants a little pamper every now and again because it does work really well.

        Thanks For Reading
