Montagne Jeunesse offer a range of face masks, body treatments and other beauty bits and pieces for men and women.
Montagne Jeunesse offer face masks tailored to different skin types and issues. They have a new range known as 'Skin Hero' which contains 5 new face masks for different skin issues. I purchased the 'Dry Skin Mask'.
The convenient aspect of these masks is that they come in a handy, one use sachet. The Dry Skin Mask is presented in a mainly pink sachet with picture and written instructions on how to use it. The picture at the front shows a lady relaxing with a face mask on. The sachet can be recycled. This face mask is vegetarian friendly.
This Dry Skin Mask is a 2 step mask and the sachet has 2 parts to it. There is a mask (15g) and a skin serum (3g). Basically this face mask is designed to banish dry skin and replenish the moisture in your skin.
The face mask is classed as a souffle and should be applied all over the face and rinsed off after 20minutes.. It contains a boost of anti-oxidants to protect the skin including red grapes, blueberries and raspberries. The serum contains crushed blueberries and pulped raspberries as well as 'Natural KiOsmetine' which is designed to make the skin smooth and moisturised. The serum should be applied once the mask has been washed off.
~Price and Availability~
As this is a 2 step mask, it retails at a little bit more than the standard Montagne Jeunesse face masks. Asda stock it as does the website www.montagnejeunesse.com. Expect to pay around £1.50.
Whilst I moisturise daily (well I try too), my skin is often dehydrated. Having been unwell for the past week or so, my skin care regime as taken a beating. I actually bought this face mask at Asda a few weeks ago and kept it aside for when my skin needed a major boost. Yesterday, my son went out for a wee while with his Aunt so I stole an hour to chill out and chose this face mask as my weapon of choice!
I like the Montagne Jeunesse face masks as a rule so pleased to see one that was simply aimed at those with dry skin as opposed to various skin types. I gave my skin a quick blast with some cool water to open the pores and patted it dry - I had a blank, but dry canvas to work on. Hair pulled back, curtains closed (to avoid scaring the neighbours) and I was ready to put my face on!
~Antioxidant Magic - Step 1!~
The bottom half of the sachet is the face mask. It is baby pink and has a lovely creamy souffle consistency - quite thick and indulgent. It spreads across the skin with complete ease and feels very indulgent and pampering. The souffle is quite rich and clings to my skin well. It has a gorgeous fruity aroma but doesn't overpower at all. The face mask is packed full of delicious, juicy berry scent and smells very fresh and light. I loved being able to witness a subtle berry scent as I used this mask.
The face mask is very gentle on my skin and didn't irritate in anyway. I was fully aware of it being there but my skin felt refreshed and I felt very relaxed whilst this mask was on. The mask wasn't too messy on my skin and started to dry within 10 minutes. After 15 minutes or so, the majority of the mask was dry to the touch. It never felt uncomfortable but there was a small amount of tingling as the mask dried onto my skin.
After 20 minutes, the relaxation time was over and the most annoying part of the mask process was due - the removal! I would normally hop in the shower and rinse it off this way but I didn't have time (well, I couldn't be bothered) so I used a wet flannel to remove the mask. This is a very messy process and takes a good 10 minutes to remove all the mask and leave my face clear.
Once the mask was off my skin, I patted it dry and was quite impressed with how it actually felt. Not only was my skin feeling bright and able to breathe fully, it felt super cleansed and very soft. I couldn't detect any dry areas anywhere. Very impressed!
~Antioxidant Magic - Step 2!~
I usually apply a liberal layer of moisturising cream after using a face mask but Montagne Jeunesse have provided a small amount of serum - I say small amount but there was more than enough in there to throughly slather my face in it! The serum looked like a thin cream at first and had the same gorgeous scent as the face mask offered. Once on the skin, it felt a little greasy and the creamy consistency changed to a thin, yet nourishing serum.
Montagne Jeunesse advise to apply, massage then relax when using this serum. I applied it and found it to massage well across my skin and cover it evenly. At first, I could feel the dry areas on my forehead becoming noticeable again which I found a little weird. I had to massage a little more serum onto this area to get rid of the dryness and then spread the remainder around the rest of my face.
I wasn't immediately impressed with the way my skin felt when I initially applied this serum. I found it to work a bit like a night cream though - it took a while to fully absorb and left my skin feeling incredibly smooth and free from dryness. It was a long process but the serum locked moisture and left my skin feeling and looking healthy the rest of the day. The berry scent from the serum lingered for a short while too which was nice.
This 2 step face mask is gentle on sensitive skin yet very effective. It is pleasant to use though a little messy at times but this is to be expected. I felt incredibly relaxed whilst using this face mask and was pleased with how it performed on my skin. I can happily recommend this face mask and will use it again. It is perfect for when my dry skin is at its worse and needs a quick moisture boost and is very much worth the £1.50.
