Advantages: Cheap, effective

Disadvantages: Too much in sachet for one use

I love my skincare products and like to apply a face-mask every week or so when my skin's not feeling in tip-top condition. I really like peel-off masks as they feel like they're getting rid of all the gunk from my face and giving it a good clean.

I purchased this face mask in Superdrug for 99 pence, and at the time there was an offer running on the various Montagne Jeunesse face masks where five could be bought for £4. The mask comes in a single-use sachet, containing 10mls of the product.

It is very easy to apply - you simply cleanse your face and spread it in an even layer over your face, avoiding your eyes. The sachet contains a generous amount of the product, with more than enough to cover my face pretty thickly, and I ended up with quite a bit of product left over. I wanted to save some for another use but the sachet made this unpractical - one criticism I have of this mask is that I'd rather buy it in a bottle or dispenser that would allow me to use the amount I need and save the rest for later uses to prevent wastage. Once applied, you leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes and simply relax whilst it's doing its work.

The mask is transparent in appearance, with a slight yellowish tint. It has a pleasant, subtle, citrusy smell and you can certainly detect the notes of lemon and ginger. It makes your face look very shiny when applied and tightens up as it dries, making it awkward to move your face - I wouldn't recommend talking or eating with the mask on!

After 20 minutes or so the mask is ready to peel off - my favourite part! As long as you don't apply too thick a layer, the mask peels off easily, usually with the majority of it coming off in one go. If, like me, you've accidentally applied some over your eyebrows or over stray hairs, you may have to remove little bits separately but on the whole it's quick and simple to remove.

The mask leaves my skin feeling smooth, supple and soft. Peeling it off makes my face feel squeaky clean and my skin appears bright and refreshed. I wouldn't say it has a dramatic effect on the appearance of my skin, but I certainly notice an improvement in the texture of my skin.

For 99p, this mask provides a cheap, relaxing deep cleaning experience for your facial skin, leaving skin feeling well cared for. I'd highly recommend this product.

Summary: Good face mask
