“ Brand: Montagne Jeunesse / Type: Wax Strips / Subcategory: Face Care / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I picked up a pack of these for a pound from the pound shop.
The strips are suitable for use on the nose only and you are supposed to use them NO MORE than three times per week. The strips are easy to use. You simply dampen your nose with water and then apply the strip. The strip needs around ten to fifteen minutes to get to work. Once the strip has dried it needs to be removed. Removing the strip can be a little painful as it dries rock hard so I pull mine off in one go. Think of it like waxing your nose!
After use the strip can be disposed of via normal household waste. The strip looks horrible after use as you can visibly see the blackheads and dirt that it has pulled off your nose. I was really surprised the first time that I used these as I didn't realise how much dirt collects on your nose! The strip can leave a little bit of sticky residue on your nose after use but this is easy to remove with baby oil or a baby wipe.
After using these strips I have noticed a difference to my nose. My nose looks clearer and it's not as spotty. I don't get as many blackheads on the nasal area and my pores don't look as visible. They're great for clearing the nose area and keeping your skin looking clear and healthy.
A great way to remove dirt and grime from your nose.
For as long as I can remember I have suffered with blackheads on my nose. I've tried all sorts of gels and creams but the only thing that ever seems to work for me is pore strips. I've tried many over the years - the very first ones being strips of fabric that came with a gel you had to paint over your nose with a little brush! The latest ones I have tried are the Montagne Jeunesse natural charcoal pore strips which I purchased after reading a review singing their praises.
The pore strips come housed in a small plastic sachet, much like the face masks which the Montagne Jeunesse brand is famed for. You get three strips in a packet and once you open the outer sachet, you will find each individual strip is also housed in its own plastic packet. The inside packets have instructions printed onto each one, so it should not matter if they become separated from the original outer packet.
The strips contain charcoal, which is not something I had heard of in terms of fighting blackheads, but Montagne Jeunesse say it has excellent qualities for absorbing sebum. It also states that the strips contain volcanic ash which will help clear dead skin cells, so it seems that it has more use than just delaying flights!
To use you simply wet your nose, remove the strip from the backing, apply to the nose smooth side down and then peel off after 15-20 minutes. The strips are a dark grey in colour and have a mild tea tree scent. They are made of a thin fabric and once on the nose feel comfortable and don't irritate my skin.
Despite the instructions to leave them on 15-20 minutes, I've had a lot of experience of using these type of strips and in my opinion as soon as the strip starts to feel stiff it should be removed. If you leave them on too long they tend not to work, so after just 10 minutes, I could feel the entire strip was dry and beginning to harden so removed it. There is a slight stinging sensation when removing them, which I think is due to the fact that not only are the strips clinging to your blackheads, they are also clinging to the tiny little hairs on your nose which are being pulled out as you remove the strip!
The results from these strips were absolutely fantastic and much better than I had expected. In fact, I would go as far as saying that these are the best pore strips I've ever used. The amount of gunk that came out of my skin onto the strip could be seen clearly and I think it was the most I've ever seen.
When looking at my nose, I could see that although there were still a few blackheads remaining, there was a marked improvement to the way my skin looked. I should mention, that with these being charcoal you will need to wash your face immediately after use as some grey residue can be left behind.
I bought these directly from the Montagne Jeunesse website where they cost just £1.50 for a pack of three. Although I know a lot of shops stock the Montagne Jeunesse face masks, I have to admit that I have never seen anywhere on the high street stock the pore strips. Visit www.montagnejeunesse.com or these can also be purchased from Amazon.
Overall, I am incredibly pleased with these pore strips and there is no doubt in my mind that I will use them again. They work incredibly well and are a bargain price too. If you suffer from blackheads on your nose, I would fully recommend giving these a try.

I have long been a fan of nose strips, but for those of you who have tried them you will know that they can be very costly. What attracted me to these particular strips was that they were 99p in Wilkinsons. You will find them alongside the Montagne Jeunesse face masks. A sachet contains three strips. They are all individually wrapped.
The strips contain natural charcoal and promise to unclog and unblock your pores as well as remove blackheads.
For best results I would recommend you use these after a bath or shower, I have found this to be the most effective way to remove the most gunk as the warmth from the water opens your pores. You need to wet your nose remove the strip from the packet and stick onto your nose. You then leave it on for 10-15 minutes or until it dries out completely. You can tell once it has as it starts to go hard. You then need to carefully remove from your nose. This part is sometimes a bit painful so I tend to just rip it off quickly to get it over with. As the strips are black the first thing I noticed was that you could see the gunk on the strip. It was pretty discusting, blackheads look like little white dots on the strip. It can leave some residue so you need to rinse your nose.
I noticed that my nose was smoother and felt like a lot of gunk had been removed. You can only use these a maximum of three times a week. Out of all of the strips I have tried these are my favourite they contain natural ingredients and are competatively priced.
My nose tends to get greasy quite easily and quickly. This causes lots of spots, open pores and a few blackheads. I saw this product on the Montagne Jeunesse website for £1.49 and as I was doing an order I thought I would give it a try.
The pack contains 3 nose strips (50p each doesn't seem a bad price to me) and the natural hardwood charcoal is meant to have excellent qualities to absorb excess sebum and blackheads for cleaner, less visible pores around the nose. Sebum is the oily substance that orevents your skin from drying out and too much of it makes your skin look greasy, it is secreted by the sebaceous glands. The strips also contain volcanic ash to help clear dead cells.
The strips contains no added parabens, are gluten and dairy free, nut derivitive free, are suitable for vegans are are BUAV approved. The packet says to wet your nose, take the sticky cover off the nose strip, apply the strip smoothe side down, leave for 15-20 minutes and gentle peel off. The should be used no more than 3 times a week.
The strips are individually sealed so the stay usable for longer. They are black on the side that sticks to your nose and grey on the other side. I found that the strip stuck easily to my wet skin. It felt a bit like having a plaster stuck to my face and slightly odd at first. After a couple of minutes though I forgot I had the strip on my face. Thankfully I didn't go down stairs so I didn't embarrass myself by letting anyone see me with the strip on though. It is easy to put the strip on before doing something else like housework or watching TV so you can get two things done at once.
I peeled the strip off after 20 minutes and it did feel like pulling a plaster off but it didn't hurt. I was surprised to get a whiff of tea tree as it came off. When I had a look at the strip where it had been stuck to my nose I was pretty disgusted. Loads of muck had come off on the strip including the contents of my pores. It wasn't pleasant viewing at all. When I looked in the mirror, I was really impressed. My blackheads had near enough gone and my spots were a lot less pronounced. My skin across my nose felt much smoother too. I had no redness where I had pulled off the strip, just clean and fresh skin.
I think that this product is a great buy and really good value for money. I will be adding them to my next Montagne Jeunesse order!! If only I could buy them for my chin and forehead.
