=Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry Gel Masque=
There is nothing more relaxing than having a pamper session even if it is a DIY at home, and I like these Montagne Jeunesse Masques as they are single serve sachets, so you know you have the right amount of mix, and you can buy them according to your skin type.
=Montagne Jeunesse say=
"Our natural Strawberry gel mask contains mild natural fruit. While you wear this mask the dreamy smell of fresh strawberries keeps washing over you - soooo lovely and fresh. The masque has tiny delicate strawberry particles - massage into your skin and relax - it so gorgeous. You will love how clean your skin feels & how brighter your complexion looks."
=How to Use=
These masques are so easy to use, they come in a little sachet, I usually give the sachet a massage before opening it, to make sure that the mix is ready. I just rip open the packet, this is a gel, and easy to apply. I apply a thin layer over my face and under my chin, sit back and relax, (and hope no-one has a camera to hand).
As this is a gel it does not go like concrete as some of the others do, this provides a nice layer on the skin and I can smell strawberries. The smell is amazing.
it is recommended that you leave the mask on for 15 minutes, you just wash off and pat your skin dry,
My skin feels really nice and smooth after using these masques, I really do like the strawberry masque, as it is one of my favourites.
=Price and Availability=
These can be brought from a good array of retailers from supermarkets, Boots, superdrugs, discount stores, I have even seen them on sale at Claires, in gerneral they are £1 per packet, always keep an eye out for offers.
I love having a nice relaxing bath and when I get the time I really like to pamper myself in there too, body scrub, shave my legs, have some nice oils and candles and one of the other things I like to have is a face mask now and again.
These little Montagne Jeunesse packs are great because they are very inexpensive and also are a one use time sachet so you don't have to worry about the rest spoiling if you don't use it again for a long time.

These masks are so easy to use. They come in a little sachet and you just need to rip the top off to get to the gel inside. Then I just apply a thin layer of the gel to my face and sit back in the bath and relax. The gel is not overly sticky so it smoothes onto my face really nicely and then forms a nice layer on my face although it does not get hard like some other face masks do.
The strawberry smell is absolutely amazing and if you like fruit based beauty products you will love this. It's so sweet and succulent and I almost have to stop myself from licking my lips to taste a bit of the strawberry!
You leave the mask on for 15 minutes or so which is long enough time for a bath. If I get some in my hair by accident it gets a bit sticky and if the mask has got a bit hot from the bath fumes it will make it a bit harder to remove but after washing off my skin feels really nice and refreshed and is smooth and of course smells lovely. I think this is a really inexpensive way of treating yourself and relaxing for a few minutes.
The masks costs in the £1 region which in my opinion are great value and can be purchased at Boots or directly from the Montagne Jeunesse website.
For Christmas last year I received a few pampering bits and pieces and one of the items I received was a Montagne Jeunesse strawberry and cream gel cream mask. Montagne Jeunesse masks are suitable for vegetarians and in many cases vegans too and they do not believe in animal testing and wherever possible source ingredients away from that.
The face mask comes like all of the Montagne Jeunesse face masks I have seen and is packed in a foil lined thin packet which is thin and so incredibly easy to store until you are ready to use it. The packet features a picture of a relaxed looking woman on the front with the face mask on and we are told that this anti stress mask is suitable for normal, dry and T zone skin and so it is going to be suitable for most people I should think.
I always use my face masks when I am in the bath as I feel I am at my most relaxed them and not worrying about things that I need to be doing and as such I will leave the face mask on for the optimum time required. I do think it is important to cleanse your face before use and it is important to note that some face masks require you to wash with warm water to open up your pores before you begin and this particular face mask is one of those.
The packed tears open easily and the face mask is squeezed out with no trouble at all. This particular mask is a pale pink colour with little grains in it which are presumably to scrub the face slightly and remove any dead skin from the face. The smell of the mask is sweet and does smell like strawberry but obviously it is the more artificial strawberry smell rather than fresh strawberries!
I applied the face mask to my face using my fingertips and massaged it in slightly. Then I laid back in the bath and relaxed for around fifteen minutes. Now this face mask does not set on the face like many do and it apparently stays wet to aid moisturising of the face. I have to say that I do like the ones which harden on the face as I think that I can feel them working and they feel a but less messy on my face too. This face mask did feel soothing on the skin though which was nice.
When I washed the mask off I found it was an easier task than with the face masks which harden on the face but I was left feeling really unimpressed with the results as my skin felt no more treated or moisturised that it does when I have cleansed, toned and applied a good moisturiser. When I use a face mask I do expect my skin to feel better when it is removed and sadly this wasn't the case with this one and so I did feel let down as Montagne Jeunesse products are usually pretty good I have found.
You can purchase this face mask for around £1.09 in places such as asda and if you go on the Montagne Jeunesse website they often do four masks for the price of three across their full range which is where I usually go for mine now. I would personally recommend giving this one a miss and trying one of the mud masks instead.
Thank you for reading my review!
I have tried the Montagne Jeunesse range before and really enjoy using their face masks as they are fun and the lovely descriptions on the packaging makes them sound very appealing. I was lucky enough to receive a whole bunch of different masques through a Facebook competition, and this Gel Cream Masque is the one I've used most recently. The masques are available to buy in most high street beauty stores and will cost around 99p for a 20ml sachet.
This item is described as a strawberry and cream anti-stress treatment with vegetarian collagen. Montagne Jeunesse say: "Cleanse, moisturise and rejuvenate. Get fresh as mild fruit acids deep cleanse & added vegetarian collagen and cream naturally moisturise for younger looking juicy clean, fresh skin."
Recommended directions for use: Thoroughly cleanse face, apply evenly with fingertips. Avoid eyes and lips. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with water. Pat dry. To aid moisturising this cream rich mask does not dry. Use weekly.
I like to give myself a good pampering when I am using a face mask, and these Montagne Jeunesse face masks always feel like a nice indulgent treat. To begin with, I made sure that all traces of make-up were fully removed and I then went about applying the mask. The packaging opens easily, so you can squeeze the pouch and the contents come out of the corner through the small tear. This helps to control how much product you want to come out of the packet.
The masque is a nice pale pink colour and has a gorgeous strong smell of strawberries. It is very sweet and in all respects reminded me of food - it looked, smelled and felt like I was covering my face in strawberry yoghurt! I love foody scents as I feel like they make my beauty treatments feel extra special, and I really enjoyed the fragrance as I was using the masque.
The masque is very different to the other Montagne Jeunesse products that I've used before. The consistency was quite thin and light, and although it was easy to spread over my face I could only build up a thin layer and it did not stay in place very well. As I left the masque on for it to get to work over the 15 minutes, it became somewhat irritating as the liquid would start running down my face in some areas, in particular onto my lips and down the sides of my nose. This not only caused a rather uncomfortable feeling but it was very distracting and I ended up wiping the masque away in some places to stop the dripping. This meant that I then lost some of the benefit of applying the masque, but it was more enjoyable this was and reduced the amount of mess from drips.
Montagne Jeunesse pride themselves on using natural ingredients, and with this one I was able to see evidence of the real strawberries used as the masque also included loads of tiny little strawberry seeds. I had hoped that these small particles would help to give my face a bit of a scrub and provide an exfoliating effect, but actually I could barely feel them at all at any stage, not during application, waiting time, or removing.
This should be left on for 10-15 minutes to allow it to really get to work on your skin. I left it on for the full 15 minutes and by this time the masque was still creamy and moist, and it had not dried out or gone patchy. After I had washed it away my skin still felt like there was a light residue left behind, but a quick sweep of toner removed this and left me feeling clean and fresh. The masque was really soothing and gentle on my skin, which was great as I'm currently managing a bit of a flare up that has caused some sensitivity and redness. My skin felt moisturised, smoothed and if I may say so myself, my complexion looked flawless. I think the results are fantastic and it's well worth giving this masque a try if your skin is in need of some pampering.
Usually these face masques contain far too much of the product and there is always some leftover which gets wasted if you do not store it and re-use correctly. This sachet contained 20mls of product which is more than usual and I managed to get two full applications from the one packet by wrapping the open sachet in cling-film and then storing it in the fridge until the following week when I used it again. This makes it even better value for money, and is an affordable and effective skin treatment.
This Gel Cream Masque gives excellent results and is a bargain beauty buy. I'm not sure I would choose to buy this one regularly as I felt that the dripping was really off-putting and reduced the enjoyment that I usually get from my little home spa sessions, but it really does work and I would recommend it if your skin needs a soothing treatment .

*About Montagne Jeunesse*
Montagne Jeunesse is a company founded in France, that is specialised in beauty products like hair and facemasks, footscrubs and face scrubs. Montagne Jeunesse offers products which can be used for all hair and skintypes and all the Montagne Jeunesse products are recognizable because of their colorfull little sachets.
*About the strawberry Gel mask*The mask comes in a green/yellow colored sachet and contains 20ml of Strawberry facial mask. The mask is vegetarian approved and promises to moisture your skin. You can use this mask for normal, dry or T-zone skin. The mask cleanses your face, hydrates it and promises to rejuvenate your face.
*The ingredients*In this mask you'll find the following ingredients; passionflower, Lemon, Walnut, Strawberry (of course), Aloe Vera, Vanilla, Jasmine and Horse chestnut. All these ingredients combined make sure the mask smells flowery.
*How to use this mask*First of all, make sure your face is cleaned. Loose any make up and what I like to do is scrub my face before using this mask. Then dry your face and open the sachet (you can open it at the top, just tear open the little cut at the top of the sachet). Then, when you put the mask on your hands, apply it to your face. Unfortunately, the mask has a very thin structure, it almost feels like water going through your hands. Once the mask is applied to your face, leave it on for 10-15 minutes. After that time, you can rinse your face and voila! A fresh face is born .
*My opinion*I don't like the thin structure of this mask, because when I applied it to my face, it dripped all over my bathroom floor, not really convincing I guess. But the mask does smell very nice and the strawberry flavour isn't too overwhelming. Besides that, most of the ingredients are natural so that always works for me. After 10-15 minutes I noticed the mask was still very soft, but when I rinsed my face I also noticed I had a smooth skin! Very nice I have to say. Also, after you rinsed your face, you smell a little bit like strawberry, which I think is nice too. Nice mask, not fantastic because it's so watery but it does clean my face and that's what it should do.
I'm slowly working my way through the Montagne Jeunesse range (what a chore!), having discovered a load of these lovely face masks in Savers at the bargain price of 90p each. Actually, maybe that's not such a bargain- considering each mask is just a small sachet, it's never going to be as cost-effective as buying a tub of face mask. But seeing as these sachets usually sell for around £1, it seemed like a pretty good deal.
This 'Gel Cream Masque' is Strawberry and Cream flavoured (or should that be scented?), and the sachet states that its purpose is to 'moisturise to younger skin'. This sounded good for me- being prone to dry skin, I find that some face masks can exacerbate the problem, so I tend to go for those which moisturise.
Like all the other Montagne Jeunesse products I've tried, this mask is Vegetarian Society and BUAV approved. It also contains a vast array of natural extracts, from passionflower to horse chestnut seed, though it has to be said, these come below the titanium dioxide and other unpronouncable words on the ingredients list. Basically, you're probably getting a drop or two of fruit extract in amongst a lot of preservatives and fake scents.
The sachet was easy to open, but getting its contents out was rather more problematic. I wasn't prepared for the thin consistency of the mask- it was like watery moisturiser, and putting pressure on the sachet to squeeze it out resulted in a load of it slopping into the sink. Applying it to my face, I wondered if it would run straight off again- fortunately it was just thick enough to stay on. I didn't really like the cold, sloppy feeling of it on my face though, and it certainly wasn't the relaxing experience that you get with other face masks. The mask also had little seed-like bits spread throughout it, whether to make it look more natural or to act as an exfoliant, I wasn't sure.
The strawberry scent was strong and vibrant, although I could just pick up another slightly off smell lingering behind the fruitiness which wasn't so pleasant. So when the recommended 15 minutes was up, I wasn't sorry to be washing this off.
After rinsing, I was disappointed to see that the mask had had very little effect on my skin. It may have been slightly softer, but I still felt the need to moisturise my face as I usually would after washing it, so I think the mask lacked the hydrating properties it claimed. The one positive I did notice was that my skin had a subtle whiff of strawberries about it, although this didn't last long. All in all, it was a bit of a let-down, and I definitely won't be buying this again. That said, there are plenty more fish in the Montagne Jeunesse sea, and one dud hasn't put me off the brand!
I had been wanting to this mask out every since I bought my mom her Montagne Juenesse set but she has apparantly been saving the best ones till last so I didnt actually get around to trying it until last night. I was really intrigued by the scent of this mask: Strawberries & Cream and I thought it would smell absolutely gorgeous so saying that I was looking forward to trying it would be a tiny bit of an understatment. Anyway we finally got around to trying it last night so my mom is going to help me with some of the information in this review in case Ive forgotten anything hehe.
A Bit About The Product [According To The Back Of The Packet]:
Not only does this mask smell absolutley delicious it is also great for your skin as well. Once you have applied this mask you will find that your skin looks (and feels) tighter, brighter and best of all clean and fresh. This mask has added vegetarian collagen to help tighten and lift your skin whilst you are wearing the mask!
This mask is also gluten and paraben free and is suitable for vegetarains.
This mask is designed for normal to dry skin and is specifically designed for use on your t-zone area. Although you can use it all over your face and neck without any problem.
This can be a messy process because it is contained in a tiny sliver of plastic and you have to scoop it out with your fingers. You just scoop out generous amounts of this cream and start to apply it all over your face and neck trying to cover every part of the skin evenly.
Then I think your meant to leave it on for about 15 minutes but I usually sit there for at least half an hour with one of these masks on.
Me and my mom both got a full mask each out of this packet to Id say there are at least 2 if not 3 applications out of this one 20ml packet.
Now before I opened this packet I was expecting a really creamy, gel sort of like shaving foam but what I got was totally different. I was greeted with a really runny white liquid in the packet which when I tried to squeeze it onto my hand went literally all over the sofa. I have read a few other dooyoo reviews on this and Ive found that only one other reviewer (xxfoxyredxx) had the same problem that I did, everyone else has found the mask to be really thick and creamy which I cannot understand because mine was like a really runny yoghurt. Obviously because it was so runny this made it a lot harder to apply because it kept going every where and I found that even though I left it on my face for a good half hour it didnt go hard at all. I would suggest if you were to buy this to keep it in the fridge until you use it because then I an only assume it will keep its creamy, thick texture that way.
What I thought was great about the mask was the little bits it had in it. Now I dont know exactly what they were: my mom reckons they were strawberry pips and I think they were exfoliating beads but whatever they were I really thought they were a nice added touch. Even when your applying you can feel these beads/pips cleaning your face and hopefully helping to remove any horrible dead or dry skin you have.
The smell of this mask really is gorgeous and the thing I think I liked most about it was how natural it smelt. Ive had some face masks that smell really chemical and synthetic but this one really did smell like fresh strawberries. But its not to overpowering at all just a really light scent that is absolutely gorgeous, in my opinion the smell of this mask alone is a great reason for buying it.
Getting It Off:
This only take about 1 minute tops and all you do is rinse your face with warm water and then towel dry. Some people like to apply some moisturiser after washing it off but if Im honest I dont really think you need to.
As soon as I started washing this off I could feel how soft and smooth my skin underneath was and it looked really bright and fresh. My skin did actually feel really firm and tight after I had used this and I atually couldnt stop touching my face and looking at myself in the mirror because that is how great my skin looked at felt after I had used this. I reckon the hassle of applying it is definately worth it for the results you get because they are great.
Mom: I just asked my mom what she thought of the mask and she just said pretty much what I said above and also that her face is still feeling lovely and smooth nearly 24 hours later and she hasnt even had to apply an extra moisturiser to keep the great effects going.
Price & Stockists:
This mask is around 79p from Bodycare stores, I think it is stocked in shops like Boots & Superdrug but not as cheaply.
Due to the runny consistency of this mask I have to knock one star of because it does take a lot longer to apply than most masks from this range but I am going to try this one again and I will change my review if it is creamy and thick after being left in the fridge. Hopefully that makes a difference to the texture. Other than that though its hard to see where this product is going wrong, the smell and the results of this mask are so near to perfect and I highly recommend this to everyone, you wont be disappointed!

When it comes to buying face masks it's a task I really enjoy taking on! I enjoy pampering myself and trying to be the best I can be and with being a gym bunny from time to time not only do I need some R+R but the skin in my face needs a little 'it' time too! Being covered in sweat and stuff means someone like me with combination skin can really suffer, so 2-3 times a week I treat myself to face masks and I buy (usually in sachets such as this) particular remedies depending on what I think my skin needs!
I have tried a few Montagne Jeunnesse products over the past couple of years and I've felt them to be very hit and miss at about £1.29 a treatment not always great. However I found 4 different masks in a box in New Look for a pound (in a sale) and they actually went through the till at 50p! Bargain... and no they had no more than one box unfortunately lol.
Light green and yellow curvy plastic sachet which is quite large in size. On the front I'm told it is of course by Montagne Jeunesse and is a Gel Cream Masque that contains strawberry & cream and is now with Vegetarian collagen and is for normal, dry and t-zone skin - moisturise to younger skin. I'm also told some information in foreign languages (as I am at the back of the sachet too), size is stated (20ml, 0.6 fl oz) and there is a photograph of a woman with the masque on and leaves and strawberries over her eyes. On the back of the sachet there is a photograph of another woman wearing the masque and then your shown her removing it, I'm told a bit about the product and how to use it including cautions and ingredients being listed, contact details for Montagne Jeunesse are given, I'm told it is Vegetarian Society approved and finally there is bar-code on there. Busy packaging with lots of information on it this is and I do like the way it has a 'nick' to the top of the sachet making it easy to open.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Sachet...
Cleanse, moisturise and rejuvenate. Get fresh as mild fruit acids deep cleanse & added Vegetarian collagen and cream naturally moisturise for younger looking juicy clean, fresh skin.
Directions For Use....
Thoroughly cleanse face. Apply evenly with finger tips (We've made sure there is plenty to care for your throat & neck too). Avoid eyes and lips. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with water. Pat dry. To aid moisturising this cream rich mask does not dry. Use weekly.
Me Using It....
Well I was rather excited about using this and gently cleansed my skin with a gentle lotion and rinsed my face and dabbed it dry before opening this. It opened easy and I gently pushed some of the mask out and oh my word it splashed and ran everywhere. Now I have read other peoples reviews on this particular mask and from what I gather it usually is a thickish creamy mask but mine wasn't! Now I only had it stored in a drawer a day before using it but the weather has been really warm where I am so either my sachet is faulty or it got too warm and melted somewhat but it went everywhere! Even when I put some in my hands it trickled up my arms and through my fingers! It was like a thin white liquid with dashes of some sort of tiny exfoliating seeds in it.
Smell wise, well I loved the really natural smell of sweet strawberries I must admit and then I set to work on applying it which wasn't easy either!
It smeared everywhere rather transparent and dripped until I got used to using only a small amount and gently sort of massaged in into my face and neck and because of the consistency of this I should of got 2-3 uses out of it but me being me I used the whole lot! I was in a real mess afterwards lol.
However I lay back and gave it the full 15 minutes to work it's magic which wasn't unpleasant and never stung my sensitive eyes or skin at all and then I actually felt the need for a shower after using it because I felt a wee bit grimy and all I did was gently rinsed it off which was easy as it never 'set' on my face like promised.
The massaging I did whilst applying this did my face the world of good! The exfoliating beads seemed to gently buff up my skin and I noticed any dry flaky bits were eradicated off my there and I did have some black heads that seemed to completely vanish. My skin felt soft, I had a lovely rosy glow and my greasy t-zone was completely diminished! My skin felt toned but supple and I felt 100% fresher than prior to using it! The delicate smell of strawberries stayed for a good couple of hours and all round although I found this difficult to get to grips with using I felt and noticed a real difference to my face.
I would definitely use this again and hope for a better consistency or notice it's thin and not use so much as it's wasteful next time! I really rate the effects this had on my skin and am rather impressed with it to be honest!
Available in all good chemists etc.

This mask is currently being sold at Boots, Superdrug and online (www.montagnejeunesse.co.uk) for 99p a sachet, which I think is great as it's one of the cheapest face masks I've ever seen.
Not only is this mask cheap, it comes in sachets that have enough product to get 2 to 3 uses out of them and they're handy to take on holiday with you.
The packets that the face masks come in are very vibrant, colourful and come in an unusual shape. All the sachets have pictures of a woman wearing the mask on them, with leaves and the main ingredients over the leaves on her eyes. The packaging is very eye-catching and so is the price! I've often wondered if these were actually any good as they were so cheap but I'm glad I finally tried them out because they are great!
This gel mask is suitable for most skin tones (reads on the packet that it's suitable for normal, dry and t-zone skin. The sachet opens from the top left, where there's an indentation so you know where to tear. The product inside is a very sweet strawberry scented light pink gel mask.
It applies very smoothly onto the skin and there are tiny particles that you can rub into the skin to help cleanse and the scent is very nice and pleasant in my opinion.
So I leave the mask on for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water and notice that my skin feels very soft and polished afterwards.
I love using these masks because they're cheap, come in separate sachets that are easy to carry around in my suitcase for holiday and I haven't found a mask that I didn't get on with as of yet. I'd defiantly recommend you try these, they're only 99p and most people get on with them and all my friends have used these ever since I introduced them.
I have used products from Montagne Jeunesse on and off over the years, since I was a teenager (the 1980's) and have always liked them. I bought the Strawberry and Cream Gel Cream Masque, as it says that it is suitable for normal, dry and T-zone skin, and I have quite dry skin. The sachet says that the masque will moisurise and the skin will look younger.
When I was younger, I was a vegetarian for some time, and thus very keen to use products that were not tested on animals. Montagne Jeunesse use a lot of natural ingredients in their products, and they do not test on animals. This face masque is also approved by the Vegetarian Society and contains vegetarian collagen. It is packaged in a sachet, containing 20ml/0.6fl oz.
The masque should be applied to cleansed skin and left on for about 10-15 minutes, then rinsed off with water. The masque does not dry, and this is supposed to help with moisturising. It is recommended that you do a skin test first on a small area before using on the face, to check for sensitivity.
When using the masque, I found that it had a pleasant strawberry smell, that was quite powerful. After using it, I rinsed my face, but still had to apply quite a lot of moisturiser, as I have very dry skin. My skin felt very soft for a while afterwards. I will buy this again, but only to use occasionally, as I do not use face packs on a regular basis. It costs around 99p for the sachet, and is available widely, from chemists and supermarkets.
MONTAGNE JEUNESSE STRAWBERRY GEL MASQUE
Flavour: Strawberry & Cream
Size: 20ml/6 fl oz
This strawberry & cream 'flavoured' face masque is for normal to dry skin. I think. The text on the front of the sachet says: "Para Pieles Normales, Secas Y Mixtas Hidratacion Para Una Piel Mas Joven" Nowhere on the sachet can I find a description in English. I know dehydrate means to dry out, so to hydrate means to put moisture back - ergo this product should moisturise my dry skin at the same time as putting a bit of colour and life back into it, which is what I want a face mask to do. I'd also like it to take 20 years off, but I suppose that's too much to ask of 99p.
I wouldn't normally say too much about the packaging, but I will make an exception in this instance. The photo attached to this product gives you the gist of what to look for when sourcing the product. It's in a sachet and, apart from saying you'll need a pair of scissors to get into it (if you value your teeth) there's not a lot you need to know about it.
Apart from .
There is so much information splattered over the sachet, in texts of so many colours that I felt a sick headache coming on as I endeavoured to read the instructions. I really do think printing important information in red, green, yellow, pink, blue, yellow & orange (together) etc. is a bit of overkill. I can only assume the kiddies in the marketing department live on a diet of E numbers and/or are colour blind.
Quite honestly, if I'd had any choice at all, I wouldn't have bought this product because of that annoyance alone.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
Strawberry & Cream Gel Cream Masque is used for the deep cleansing, moisturising and rejuvenation of normal/dry skin.
It says: 'Get fresh as mild fruit acids deep cleanse & added vegetarian collagen and cream naturally moisturise for younger looking juicy clean, fresh skin.'
The cream is pale pink, thick and gloopy and, according to the instructions, there is enough to cover your face and neck. Actually, there's enough to cover most of your body and that of a close friend, but I will pick up on that later.
On opening the sachet, the first thing to hit you is the overwhelming synthetic fruity smell. It 'sort' of smells of strawberries and if I had to choose, I'd liken it to a very sweet strawberry yoghurt. The consistency of the cream is very like thick custard. (Obviously not a face mask for the weak-willed dieter). The smell isn't really unpleasant but it could do with toning down a bit because for the purpose of this review and to remind myself of it's consistency etc I popped a little onto the back of my hand and quite honestly, the perfume is beginning to make me feel a little headachy and nauseous. So, I will hasten on.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
With scissors, cut across the top of the sachet. You won't be able to tear across the sachet, so do as you're told and have the scissors ready.
Take a good scoop of the cream from the sachet and, onto pre-cleansed skin (hey, you really didn't think you could lather this stuff onto a face full of make up, did you?) apply evenly over the face and neck. Avoid eye and lip areas. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. You will notice when applying the cream that it contains some tiny granules. I think these might be walnut shell powder but quite honestly they could be anything. For those who do have sensitive skin or allergies, I have given a full list of ingredients at the end of this review. Also, there is a warning which says: 'Natural ingredients: May vary in colour. Sensitivity: Natural extracts can cause sensitivity too! Apply a small amount of masque to inside of upper arm, leave as above' 10-15 mins. 'If a reaction occurs (very rare), do not use.
The photo on the sachet shows the model with an obviously thick, gloopy layer of the mask all over her face. Well, to me that's just wasteful! What good do the extra layers of the cream do? Take a tip, because this mask doesn't dry, it keeps for over a week once the sachet is opened, so just use as much as you sensibly need and close the sachet up with a peg. By doing this, I got two good applications for 99p.
After about 15 minutes, the cream has changed its consistency a little, although it does not dry like a traditional face pack. It is still moist but does have a sticky feel to it, which, I presume, is the 'gel' element.
With clear, warm water, gently remove the cream. I use a clean face flannel for this simply because it's quicker and it does the job better than your fingers. If you've never used a face pack before, trust me; the picture of the model splashing the clear water over her face is just something the marketing boys dreamed up years ago. Marketing boys have never actually used a face pack. (Maybe they have, who cares?)
My complexion was slightly pink and nice and soft to the touch. But most face packs to this anyway. I didn't notice any real improvement in the texture of my skin. I have good skin but it is over 50, and once a week or so I like to give it a boost. I must say I do like mineral mud packs because after one of those my skin feels firm as well as smooth and it's a real pleasure to apply foundation to rejuvenated skin.
About two hours after I'd used this product, I could still smell the sickly sweet fruity yoghurt smell and, unable to stand it any longer, had to go and keep bathing my face in warm water until the pong toned down a little. Even the next morning, I could still smell it on me. My husband said it was like sleeping with a sweetie (of the confectionery kind!)
I may have used the wrong product from the Jeunesse range. But as it's almost impossible to divine exactly what each of the different variety of masks are for, and just seeing the words "Cleanse, moisturise and rejuvenate," I just had to assume that would do.
The texture was pleasant but the smell was overpowering so all in all, the pampering experience never really took off.
