This is a review of MONU professional Skincare Moisture Rich Collagen Cream that I received recently in a beauty box. It is a premium skincare range by Susan Molyneux and not one I would usually get to try. The tube was a generous 50ml so will last ages when used sparingly.
What is it?
Monu Professional Skincare Moisture Rich Collagen Cream is a rich, luxurious cream to relieve dryness and smooth fine lines. Its ingredients include rose and geranium essential oils and evening primrose and blackcurrant seed oils which contain essential fatty acids that can help repair your skin. Other plus points include shea butter to improve the skin barrier, marine collagen which smooth fine lines natural betains to stimulate skin hydration and antioxidant plant extracts to help prevent premature ageing.
The tube allows you to squeeze out a small amount. I start with a pea sized blob but usually go back for a little more as it is really thick and luxurious. I use this mainly in the morning after cleansing but you can use it both morning and evening. The instructions advise using a gentle upward motion when applying and I try to remember to do this as it is good for your circulation. The cream has a lightly fragranced smell but it was pleasant and slightly floral without being over powering and I certainly didn't mind it on my skin. Some days when I didn't think my skin needed such deep moisturising I switched to a thinner alternative product. I often do this with body lotions though, depending on how my skin feels. I think I have that many lotions and potions to use at the moment I love to try new ones but still have my old favourites that just seem to last forever!
This cream is described as suitable for dry, very dry or dehydrated skin. I don't usually suffer from this other than extreme winter conditions so it would probably not be the first product I would reach for. Having said that, for the month I have used this I have had no adverse skin reaction and not felt overly greasy with it. I like that it is a paraben free formulation as I don't like to think I am adding nasty ingredients to my skin. As it is an anti ageing product, whilst I don't really have any lines yet, I viewed it as a product which still plumps and protects the skin and improves complexion which I do need as my skin tone is a little uneven and my under eye area often needs a little help.
I mentioned that this is a premium range and the same 50ml tube retails on Amazon for £17.99. I realise this is not mega expensive for face cream but it is more than I usually pay!
I really liked this cream and could tell it was high quality when using it due to the texture and gentle fragrance. It lasted more than a month quantity wise which with virtually daily use is quite good going. Would I repurchase? I would be tempted to buy this again in the future but may wait until I need the anti-ageing cream for my skin. I am glad that I got to try this product as it has made me appreciate the difference between the cheaper moisturisers and higher end range. So would I recommend? Yes but not for the younger skins out there as they just don't need this level of anti-ageing moisturiser, I am borderline on this as I don't really need it but still felt that my skin reacted positively towards this product.
