Mudd Original Face Mask
Advantages: plenty of product, skin felt soft and toned
Disadvantages: awkward getting the product from the pack
When browsing Boots looking for things to add to a friends pamper pack for her 30th birthday I came across the mudd original face mask. Whilst I do like to use face masks I do tend to stick to the Montagne Jeunesse brand because I am familiar with them but as this face mask was priced at just £0.99 I decided to give it a go.
The face mask comes in a foil lined pack which features a picture of a smiling lady applying the mask to her face much like you see on the Montagne Jeunesse brand. The difference with the Montagne Jeunesse range and this particular product though is that this one seems much less neutral with white, cream and brown tones as opposed to the much more colourful and in your face Montagne Jeunesse range.
We are told on the packaging that this mudd original mask gives you one application of their pure clay formula original mask. On the back of the packaging we are told that the product will tone and tighten your skin and it won't clog pores or cause blemishes which all sounds very promising indeed!
I used this product just before getting in to the bath to relax as I find bath time is when I am most kind to myself and not constantly thinking of what I must get done and such like. I had removed my entire make up and soaked my face with a warm face cloth and then blotted it dry as recommended on the instructions of the mask.
When I ripped off the top section of the packaging I was fully expecting the whole of the pack to be ripped open but there is actually just a really small hole which is opened when you rip open the pack. I can see both good and bad in this to be honest because on the positive side the face mask is not as likely to dry up and despite it saying there is one application in this pack I found I only used around half of it and so there is certainly enough to use it again. However on the negative side it is really quite tricky to get the face mask out of this one little hole and it became more of a struggle than I would have liked it to have been. I think personally I'd rather have a larger hole to squeeze the product out of and use a peg or clip or something to fasten it back down with afterwards.
The mudd original mask isn't exactly appealing to look at being a dark brown in colour and you certainly aren't going to win any beauty awards whilst wearing it but obviously the main thing is how it works on your skin. I applied the mudd all over my face and noted that it felt relatively thin yet covered my skin well. The scent of the product is a clean, fresh, slightly fragranced one which I found quite pleasant to be honest.
The mudd dried nicely on my face and I did notice that it was quite difficult to talk much as the product had set on my skin! I left the product on for fifteen minutes as advised and during this time I didn't notice any negative affects on my skin and I just felt as though it was tightening and thus working.
Removing the face mask with a wet flannel whilst in the bath was quite easy but I have to say I was glad I was in the bath when doing this as I think it would be quite messy otherwise! When the mask was removed my skin on my face felt soft, tight and toned and I have to say I was really impressed with the results and I would certainly use this product again because I feel the fact that I can get two uses from one sachet for just £0.99 is brilliant value for a product that makes my skin feel good.
Thank you for reading my review!
Summary: I will use it again
