MuLondon - Organic Marigold, Frankincense & Myrrh - Face Moisturiser
I was yet again lucky enough to be chosen to trial this product on the beautyontrial site. I was offered a choice of several different moisturisers and chose this as I absolutely love frankincense.
The World of MuLondon
Prior to being chosen for this trial I had not heard of this company but that is not that surprising as it was only started in 2008 by Boris Zatezic. The company is a London based skincare company creating eco friendly products for the skin.
All products are hand made using natural and organic ingredients. All the products are concentrated and "100% vegan, cruelty free, ethically sourced and packed in recycled and recyclable materials, including bio-degradable bubble-wrap." They also contain no artificial preservatives, emulsifiers or fragrance. The scent comes only from natural essential oil, and herbal extracts which not only provide the scent but are also included for their healing, balancing and repairing qualities for skin.
My pot is a small glass pot with a screw top lid and holds a tightly packed 30ml of product and the usual RRP is £9 plus P&P from the site. The glass can be recycled through the usual schemes as can the lid.
These moisturisers are 'super concentrated' and they have no added water nor whipped with air so what you get is a really concentrated product. Often products have so much water that the actual active ingredients are only 20% whereas with this you get 100% product.
MY (MARI) GOLD, FRANKINCENSE AND MYRRH
This product is specially aimed at mature and aging skins which is why I chose to test this one as well as the fact I love the smell of both Frankincense and myrrh.
This gorgeous smelling product has the benefits of shea butter and jojoba oil to moisturise and extracts of marigold, frankincense and myrrh which help to calm, balance and repair dry and older skins. Most of the ingredients are certified organic and the product has a EWG SkinDeep database hazard rating of' 0' which is the best possible rating and means that nothing in there is hazardous to you or the environment.
Shea Butter is great for treating and helping with the symptoms of dry or sensitive skin, eczema and psoriasis. It is a natural moisturiser and easily absorbed .
Jojoba Oil helps with increasing skin's elasticity and strengthening the epidermis.
Coconut Butter helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as it helps keep connective tissues strong and supple.
Marigold, or Calendula flower is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and its healing effects on the skin.
Frankincense and Myrrh, have been used for many centuries for their fragrant resins and the oils of both are astringent and calming.
Also in this lovely moisturiser is certified organic Rosemary Antioxidant which helps replenish and revive the skin.
I was really surprised at how hard this product was as am used to creams with lots of air and water. This is pretty solid and I scrape some off with my nails so that I end up with a small chunk on the top of my nails, not under them. I then rub two fingers together with the product between them to melt it and then I use the fingers to apply this to my face.
Initially I found it quite greasy and wondered how it would be on my skin but the greasiness went very quickly as the natural oils were absorbed into my skin. I find that this is a great for massaging my face as I apply it. I do a little at a time and gently massage the wrinkliest and most lined areas just as they do when I have a facial. I do this just before I get into bed and it really relaxes me and also feeds my skin with all the goodies so that they can do their magic overnight.
When I use this as a day cream I use it slightly more sparingly and then apply my make up if I am going out. If I am just staying at home then I just apply this and gently massage then add nothing else.
I have had NO nasty reaction since using this and my skin feels nice and soft and the smell is just gorgeous.
Keep the jar somewhere cool and dry and out of direct sunlight as this will damage the contents. There is a best before date on the label so make sure you use before the end date in order to get the most benefit from this as it has no preservatives in it.
WOULD I BUY THIS AGAIN?
This as I said I got free as a trial product through beautyontrial. I will definitely buy this again and have also ordered two other products from this site since trying this one.
I found it really easy to order from the site and if you are interested in trying this or any of their natural eco friendly Vegan hand made goodies then message me as I have a code for 20% off one order. They take paypal and of course credit cards too. I paid through paypal and there is a £2.50 per order NOT item so it is best to group products together to get the best value from the P&P charge.
I am looking forward to my other two products coming and will review those in time.
Yes this is a great concentrated natural moisturiser with organic natural, vegan friendly quality ingredients. It is easy to use once you get the hang of getting the stuff out. As it gets further down the pot I will use the handle of a teaspoon to get the product out.
Well done MuLondon a great ethical company offering a quality product that smells great.
Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same username.
