      Advantages

      Disadvantages

One of the better redness treatments out there.

I have spent years battling the skin condition Rosacea. It causes my skin to be red and inflamed. It is a really embarrassing condition that can be fine for months at a time then out of the blue I will have a flare up which causes my skin to redden and flush and it looks as though I have been sunburnt or drinking alcohol when I have done neither.
Over the years I have spent a small fortune trying to heal it but unfortunately there is nothing that will make it go away and the best that you can hope for is getting it under control with a good skin care routine. There are no miracle products out there and you need to find which ones work best for your skin.

I have tried loads of redness relief creams and lotions over the years but most of them have been a disappointment and done nothing to relieve either the symptoms or the underlying redness. Murad do a range of skin care products that are especially designed for redness and sensitivity including skin that suffers from Rosacea. These are some of the best specialist redness products that I have tried but unfortunately they only help a little and are extremely expensive so although I do like them I wouldn't consider buying them again as I just couldn't justify spending so much money on something that doesn't actually clear the condition.

The range consists of a cleanser, a treatment gel, a serum and a correcting moisturiser. Obviously the products are designed to be used in conjunction with each other but for me personally I much preferred the cleanser to the moisturiser and would probably just use the cleansing gel on its own with a moisturiser that suits my skin better.

The Murad cleansing gels is one of the nicest cleansing gels for cleaning my skin and leaving it less sensitive. It is especially good when you have really sensitive skin as it actually helps to cool the skin down and leave it looking and feeling much calmer.
To use the cleanser you just wet your skin then massage a little bit of the gel all over your face and the gel gets to work cleaning skin deep down and dissolve dirt, grease and grime.

You wash the gel off with some warm water but if you do have sensitive skin then you really need to follow this as hot water will make the skin redder and can actually make it more sensitive.
When the gel has been washed off it makes a huge difference to the feeling of my skin when I am having a sensitivity breakout and as soon as it is washed off my skin feels less stingy and sore and I can actually see a difference in the reduction of the redness. The redness isn't gone but the patches under my eyes and on my nose definitely look better and less intense.

It also works as an excellent cleanser and my skin is always left feeling really clean and refreshed without any tightness or dryness. The ph balance of my skin isn't left upset or out of balance and it feels really comfortable and clean.

The only reason that I don't use this cleanser all the time is because of the price. It costs £27 for a 200ml bottle and this is the cheapest in the range. If it wasn't so expensive I would definitely use it more often as it really is good. It doesn't take away all my redness but then nothing does and it does a lot more to control and alleviate the symptoms of my Rosacea than most of the other redness treatments that I've tried.
