I am definitely a face wash hoarder. I use one face wash and it works for a week or so then quits cleansing my face of acne and dead skin cells. The Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Cream Wash is different than all other drugstore washes in that it never stops treating my skin as it did the first day.
The bottle contains 177mL of face cleanser that lasts for ages. I've been using the same bottle twice a day for several months and there is still about half of the bottle left. Only a single pump of the cleanser goes a long way because upon pumping out the product, it foams on it's own. The foam is super gentle and smells great! You can almost feel the wash scooping gunk out of pores. When rinsing off with coldish water, my skin feels glowing. It looks great and super clean!
The really great thing about this facial wash is that it doesn't dry out skin. I typically follow the wash with some Neutrogena facial moisturizer, but on certain occassions I totally skip that step because the Neutrogena face wash moisturizes on it's own. The brilliance of this product cannot be lied about. Not only does it clean and prevent acne, but it doesn't clog pores or dry the delicate skin on ones face.
This product fights acne and contains 0.5% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a known ingredient that combats acne and also helps to wash off dead skin cells. Because this wash only contains 0.5% Salicylic Acid this cleanser is perfect for anybody with sensitive skin.
The only complaint or worry I have about this product is that it contains an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid). AHA is known to increase sensitivity to the sun causing worse sunburns. If you are someone who burns easily be sure to apply extra sunblock before going out into the sun. If you don't have an extreme sensitivity to the sun still apply some sunblock so your pretty skin isn't ruined.
Seriously people, head on over to your local drugstore and pick up this miracle face wash for about $7USD. It is totally worth every penny.
I love this face wash. This is the only product that has cleared my acne. I have been using this wash over over a year now and will continue using it. I purchased this after i had to stop using the Clinique 3 step skin care system as it was worsening my acne. As soon i started using the product my blemishes calmed down; after a couple of weeks i no longer had any spots.
The foam is supposed to clean deep into pores and fight breakouts before they appear; i really think this works. My skin usually looks quite oily after work, so i remove my make-up and use this wash, it really seems to wash away any impurities. I would definitely recommend this for oily or combination skin as it cleans deep into pores and washes away sebum and bacteria effectively.
What i especially like about this product is that when applied to face it doesn't feel to tingly or sting like some other acne targeting products, so i find it is gentle enough to use everyday and does not dry out my skin. It leaves my skin soft and clean. However i think it mainly works to clear pimples and not on blackheads etc. but i think it has helped to prevent more appearing. I used to have mild to moderate and this wash cleared it up, i still get a few blemishes now and again but they are usually very small ones and clear up quickly.
I think the product is great value for money, i have buy mine in boots for around £4, or often they have special offers on Neutrogena products.(In England the bottle is slightly different to the American one displayed on this site). One bottle will usually last 2 months, i use it morning and night.
The product is very easy to use. The pump mechanism gives just the right amount of product and keeps the product hygienic.
Overall i am very pleased with this product, i would definitely recommend for someone who is looking for a drug store wash to clear and prevent spots.
This is my favorite face wash I've ever used. This is a very big and very personal statement - what works for me may not work for you. To get a better idea about the value of this product for your skin, I'll provide you with a description of mine. I have combination skin meaning that my cheeks get dry and I get oily in my T-zone (forehead, nose, chin.) I have blackheads on my nose, enlarged pores on my cheeks, and get breakouts (usually more cystic, deep acne) on and around my chin. Once in a while, I'll get a pimple elsewhere on my face. I also have pink undertones and sometimes my face can get ruddy. Most people who suffer from acne can just use highly medicated facewash or topical treatments and be fine. However, I also have highly sensitive skin. This means that products such as ProActive and other harsh acne-fighting systems leave me a dry, flaky, red mess. So if the above description sounds familiar, your use of this product will be more likely to follow the experiences described in this review. If not, I would suggest trying it anyway but be warned that I cannot guarantee any degree of success.
This is a foaming face wash that comes in a pump bottle. I usually use one pump for my entire face. I like that it foams on its own which just means one less step for lazy me. After removing my eye makeup, I use one pump and gently massage it over my entire face. I rinse with warm water, and then repeat. The first wash gets off all my face makeup - any foundation, concealer, blush, or powder that I added earlier in the day. The second wash will actually deliver the medication and other ingredients to my skin now that the layer of makeup is gone. I then follow with moisturizer.
This bottle comes with 177mL of product which contains 0.5% salicylic acid - a known acne medication that also helps to slough off dead skin cells. This low dosage makes the cleanser gentle enough for those with sensitive skin. Also, even if I forget moisturizer, it does not dry my skin out which is honestly amazing for a skin product targeting acne.
This is available in any drugstore or online at drugstore.com. Cost: approximately $7 USD
