This is a little gem in a bottle. Two products for the price of one and each works very well and as an individual product on your face.
I bought this after a period of time where I haven't used it for a while I began to use this when my skin was at a time where it was going through a good stage.
In the beginning I used this at the worst stage and I found it great for clean, clear skin that prevented blemishes and I really liked the results I don't think it actually helped remove the more intense acne spots which I was gutted at because around my neck and chin it cleared up. It left a soft cleansed feeling and didn't actually aggravate my skin at all so it was more reliable to use I knew what to expect.
I would say this is great for light to medium blemished prone skin or for anyone wanting to prevent it.
For the mask, I found this to be just as good and I seemed to steer towards using this more than the wash.
Apply this to your face and leave for 5 minutes and you can notice the difference it the feel as it sets and the deep cleansing sensation, it removes very well I would say heed the recommendation that you use the moisturiser as this will help soothe your skin and hydrate well.
I think this is a great brand for those who experience blemishes I would always recommend this company as one to use.
tend to opt for kinder-to-skin products, but I also look out for those that target imperfections. At my age, I hate still having spots and it makes me quite self-conscious, yet most over the counter stuff makes very little difference. I came across the Neutrogena wash (?Stress Spot Control? 2 in 1) and thought I?d give it a try as it?s a well-known brand I?ve found to be fairly effective in the past. Whilst it hasn?t given me flawless skin or sorted out any spots that rear their ugly heads, it does leave my skin feeling cleaner and more refreshed.
This comes in a clear plastic 200ml bottle with a translucent white flip-up top. The label on the front tells us that the product uses ?microclear technology? (whatever that is!) and that it?s ?triple action formula helps clear spots?. It?s classed as a ?3-in-one daily cleansing lotion?, so it?s a liquid cleanser that?s used without water and is suitable to use regularly.
The three in one aspect refers to how the face wash does the following : 1. Cleanses deeply 2. Reduces excess shine & oil 3. Helps clear spots. The lotion contains green tea and cucumber, the former of which is often heralded as a good treatment for blemish-prone skin. It also claims that this formula is gentle enough for everyday use, though this obviously depends somewhat on just how sensitive, or not, your skin is.
To use, simply lift the lid, apply a bit to a cotton wool pad, and gentle wipe it over your face and neck. The liquid is green and reminiscent of the tea tree and cucumber formulation. It actually smells quite fresh rather than checmical-ish, which can put me off some products a bit. You don?t need to use much on the cotton pad each time you cleanse so I consider the product to be a bit cost effective in that sense.
Does it work? Well, it seems to work in the sense that I like using it because it leaves my skin feeling refreshed. It doesn?t appear to have made my skin any worse and it hasn?t caused any irritation, which I?m glad to report. It hasn?t, however, done anything for blackheads, but nothing ever seems to. In terms of spots, I can?t say that alone this product has, or would, reduce them. Everyone?s skin is different, however, so it?s going to vary. I do think it helps to reduce oil and leaves my complexion that bit brighter and cleaner, so over a longer period of time I think it?s a wash I?d happily use on a daily basis to keep spots away. I just wouldn?t rely on this alone to clear up my skin. I?d say it?s a little pricey perhaps for a simple cleanser if it hasn?t magically disappeared any of my spots, but there are far more expensive ones out there that actually irritated my skin, so I?m reasonably happy with the price.
I have recently purchased this product after reading other reviews about it. I have oily/combination skin, so I have been trying a lot of different products and none of them have seem to of worked... Until I tried this! I love it! I prefer to use it as a daily wash because that way, it cleans my skin and leaves it feeling so clean and fresh, but it also prevents breakouts which really is a bonus for me! I find that using this as a mask can be quite harsh on the skin, and it has made me breakout once or twice, and it can also leave the skin feeling quite tight and dry. So it is quite important to use a daily moisturiser after using this product, so your skin doesn't dry out. I bought this product for around £2.37, which apparently is a great price in comparison to other products in the Neutrogena range.
If you have read any of my other reviews you may have read that I suffered from spots as a teenager, which reappeared when I was pregnant last year. In my bid to combat these spots I invested in numerous face washes, face scrubs and face masks to try and improve the appearance of my face. I recalled having used this when I was a teenager and it did wonders for my skin so I headed to Boots to see if it was still available.
*Price, packaging and availability*
It comes in one size, a 150ml tube. For one tube it costs around £2.99 which I consider to be fairly inexpensive for a 2 in 1 product. I would consider paying that for a separate wash and separate mask.
As I mentioned, I purchased this from Boots which is perhaps the most expensive shop I could have bough it from! I have seen it for sale for £1.99 in various supermarkets so it is best to shop around if you aren't in desperate need for it.
It is packaged in a squeezy tube with the lid on the base. The lid is a flip top design so no product spills out. This is my favourite design of lid as it results in no mess being left on the sink and it also means the product has time to drip to the bottom of the tube so you don't have to squeeze so hard.
The main marketting angle of this product is that it can be used in two different ways. It can be used as a daily wash or as a mask.
To use it as a wash you massage a small dollop onto wet skin and rub in before rinsing off.
To use it as a mask you also use it on wet skin but leave it on for a couple of minutes before rinsing off.
I usually use it as a wash, rarely as a mask because I have a toddler and it isn't often I have time to use a mask!
I have been using this wash for around a year. I use it as a facewash around twice a week now that my spots have calmed down a little. I was previously using it everyday when my spots were at their worst. After using it I notice my skin is a lot smoother, my spots look a lot less red. The negative side is that it leaves my skin feeling zapped. It feels tight and dry and I have to slather it in moisturiser to get it feeling back like normal. I think it is a bit too harsh on my skin which is why I have gone down to using it twice a week.
After using it for this length of time I still have plenty of product left in the tube so a little product does go a long way.
Id recommend this for anyone suffering from spots because it has worked wonders for a few of my friends and does help reduce the redness. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin due to its harshness.
I have a simple beauty regime. I wash with plain soap and water and use a daily moisturiser. I wear little make-up so don't feel the need to cleanse and tone my skin daily with expensive lotions. I do however, like to pamper myself once a fortnight and I do this by using Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in1 Wash & Mask to help keep my skin clear. It costs £3.50 for a 150ml tube, which is good value as it lasts for many months.
I have been using Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask for a number of years. It has recently been updated and the product now contains a unique formula - Microclear® a patented technology which quickly dissolves and helps to eliminate spot-causing bacteria.
Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask is a dual action facial product to help remove impurities and clear spots for clear skin. It can be used in two ways: as a facial wash to remove dirt and impurities and as a facial mask to absorb excess oil and unclog pores. Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask comes in a squeezy plastic bottle. The cream contains a soft clay based formula, has the same consistency of toothpaste and smells of menthol/mint.
To use as a facial wash:
This can be used daily to remove dirt, oil and impurities and helps to reduce and prevent spots. Just squeeze a little into the palm of your hand and rub together (it works better if you wet your hands first). If you expect this facial wash to lather up then you will be disappointed. The water makes the cream dissolve a little and you need to rub it quickly over your face before it disappears. It turns you skin white while you wash with it and you can feel it working straight away, as you get a tingling sensation. All you need to do then is to wash it off. As you pat your skin dry you can feel your face tightening, as if the pores are shrinking. It doesn't feel uncomfortable, nor does it sting or cause any skin irritations.
To use as a face mask:
Smooth a thin layer over your face and leave for 5 minutes. Don't apply too much as it won't dry properly and will be hard to remove. It takes around 10 minutes to fully dry, even though it is recommended that you leave it on for just 5 minutes. Once dry, rinse well with water, removing traces with cotton wool, however I prefer to use a hot flannel as I would imagine that as it contains clay, the mask would stick to cotton wool and leave you with bits of fluff all over your face. Being White in colour, when you apply the cream as a mask, as it dries you can clearly see your blackheads as they become darker against the white mask. It must be the mask absorbing the excess oil and dirt from the blackheads into the mask.
I mainly use Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask as a face mask as I like the way that it makes my skin feels refreshed and clear. I also feel that using it as a face mask is more pampering than as a facial wash. However when my skin is looking a little dull or I can see some spots coming, I use it a facial wash for a couple of days to try and eliminate the spots before they get bigger/breakout.
I have been using Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in1 Wash & Mask for a number of years and will continue using it as I love the way that it makes my skin feel and it helps to keep it blemish free. I give Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask 5 stars as it is good value at £3.50 as a tube lasts many months and doesn't dry out. I like the way it makes my skin feel refreshed and I have not experienced any irritations using it as a facial wash or facial mask.

I have mostly liked Neutrogena products in general, but I'm also very skeptical about 2 in 1 products, so when my mum bought me this face wash/mask I questioned its ability to really work well in either scenario.
~~~USING the PRODUCT~~~
MASK- Apply a thin layer to cleansed face, leave to dry and then rinse off two to three times a week.
WASH- Apply to wet face and rinse off every day in the morning and evening.
The product does not say if you can use the wash and then the mask afterwards- I assume you can, but I have never done this.
I personally usually use this product in the morning and evening every day and then when I want to use it as a mask would use a light scrub (OXY daily scrub or origins modern friction) and then the mask. As I have acne I also apply a spot gel before moisturising afterwards.
When used, the wash itself doesn't lather very much and is like a thin clay in texture- it was quite light and had the texture of a liquid foundation (I don't use liquid foundation but from what I have seen it looks like that?).
As a mask, it has a slight tingeling and refreshing sensation on the face which makes it seem like it is working! :)
HOWEVER, the fragrance to the wash/mask is extremely strong and even after washing everything off, I could smell it for an hour or two afterwards.
Although the mask didn't feel like it is working, it did its job in cleansing the face. Using this in combination with my other products seems to have reduced spot outbreak and maintain my skins complexion. I see no negative effects of using this product and it could very likely be my new routine product!
I am definitely surprised how good this 2 in 1 product works and maybe they can develop a 3 in 1 product next which includes a scrub (similar to Dermatologica's Ready Set Scrub)!
This product costs £3.99 but Boots is doing an offer right now where it is 1/3 off (£2.66) so get one of these now!!
-dermatologica clean start, ready set scrub
-origins charcoal clay mask
-Origins Modern Friction
-OXY Daily Scrub (rice scrub)
-Clean and Clear Blackhead eliminating facial Wash (blue microbeads)
-Neutrogena Light Night cream
-Clean and Clear Advantage Spot treatment Gel
I have been using this Neutrogena 2 in 1 mask and wash for over a year now. I bought it a while ago when looking for something new to try out.
I love to vary my skincare routine and try loads of different products. Anything that offer me more than one thing is always good because they tend to be better value for money. I love face masks and probably don't use face washes enough so when I saw this I decided to give it a try and see if it lived up to the claims.
The product comes in a fairly standard flexible plastic bottle/tube. It has a frosted plastic lid which flips open to reveal a smallish application hole. The design of the tube is predominantly orange with a little bit of grey, white and black added in. I don't love this colour combination, nor does it scream fresh and refreshing product to me. It seems a little clinical to me and gives the impression of something packed with chemicals rather than fresh ingredients. This is confirmed by the information which doesn't relay information about any natural ingredients. This doesn't totally put me off but isn't my ideal kind of product.
The product has a relatively thick consistency and is white in colour. It almost has a slightly chalky/clay feel to it and definitely gives the impression of being a potentially good mask. I wasn't so sure about how it would cope as a wash but wanted to try it out as both and see.
As a mask it is lovely and thick so smooths on easily with relatively little product needed. For me this is great as I like to get my moneys worth. It takes about 5-10 minutes to dry, though I often leave it on longer to get the most out of it. What I love about it is that is dries really hard and almost freezes your face in one position. Most people don't like this about a face mask but I love it as it really feels as though it is working. Taking it off can be a little challenging, especially in places like eyebrows as the mask sets so hard. Plenty of warm water and a flannel usually does the job, though it is harder than most.
It leaves my skin feeling really lovely and soft, and it definitely feels very indulgent. My skin manages to feel this way for a day or two and I tend to use this one once a week if I can. It does dry your skin out a little after removal so make sure to moisturise to enhance the softness of your skin and rehydrate it.
As a wash I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. The thick cream does dilute with water and washes over your face easily. Some little bubbles are created but it is hard to get a lather going. Although it does make my skin feel fresh and clean it doesn't really do anything to make it feel softer. I pretty much only use it as a wash if I don't have enough time for a mask. It's not the best, but because I like the mask so much I still come back and buy it again.
The price of this product is £3.99 which isn't bad for a fairly decent face mask that has lasted me a year. I'm not convinced it's a great wash and it feels like a waste using it this way. That said, I like it enough as a mask to overlook this.
Not exactly 2 for the price of 1.
**Introduction and reason for purchase**
I try to stick to a beauty regime on an evening of cleansing, toning and moisturising but first thing in a morning I like to use a quick facial wash as I find it more refreshing and far more convenient. I have long since been a fan of the Clean & Clear face wash but when we were starting to get low on the product I headed up to the top of the road where there is a Superdrug situated and aimed to buy another tube.
Whilst I do enjoy the benefits of Clean & Clear I spotted this 2 in 1 face wash/ mask by Neutrogena for just £1.99 - almost £2 less than C&C which was a considerable difference to say the tubes held the same weight in product so I decided to give it a go and purchased the Neutrogena instead...would I be happy I'd saved money or should I have paid that little bit more for a product I'm already happy and familiar with..?
**Price, packaging & availability**
As just mentioned this product cost me just under £2 and for a 150ml tube I think this is very good value, especially of course as it promotes itself as a face mask as well as a facial wash. Given the fact this is Neutrogena, which is a renowned brand, I think this is a complete bargain..if it works of course.
I purchased this from my local Superdrug store though it is widely available from most large chemists and large supermarkets and most places that stock similar products though I have recently seen it in Boots chemists costing almost double at £3.99 so it's worth shopping around as the Superdrug price is very reasonable in my opinion.
The product comes housed in an upright standing tube which is quite soft and easy to squeeze though still retains some sturdiness. There is a large rimmed flip open cap which can be stored stood upright on the base if you wish and is both easy to open and click shut as well meaning no spillage when stored in this way.
Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash/ Mask is in brightly coloured packaging with a silver base and bright orange contrasting upper half so certainly stands out amongst it's competitors in the shops as it's easily identifiable.
**What Neutrogena has to say about how this product works**
"...the unique formula of NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR® 2in1 Wash and Mask with MICROCLEAR® technology can be used in two different ways to remove impurities and help eliminate spot-causing bacteria..."
**How to use**
Visibly Clear can be used in two ways:
1) Use as a daily face wash where it effectively removes dirt, impurities and oil and helps to prevent and reduce spots.
2) As a mask where the soft clay based formula helps to unclog pores and to purify the skin deep down
**My experience of using this product**
I have been using this face wash/ mask for just under a month now and have used it daily as a face wash and twice a week as a face mask and will give my opinion on the product as both a wash and mask.
On opening the flip open lid I was greeted with a pleasant smelling product that was fresh and had a hint of both floral and a salty ocean element making it very nice indeed. I'm used to more 'zingy' face washes such as the Clean & Clear or tea tree based ones which leave a medicated feel on my skin so I wasn't quite sure how this one would fare being clay based.
The 2 in 1 has a very thick and 'gloopy' consistency but I found that it poured from the tube with ease - a little too much ease to be honest and it actually came across as rather runny despite it's thickness so be warned! The 2 in 1 is a very bright white in colour and once on the finger tips it seems to warm up (though there is no mention at all that it is a self heating clay this is merely something I have noticed when using myself). On applying to my face (avoiding the delicate eye area) I found the wash smoothed over my skin and didn't feel too thick or 'cloggy' and a pea sized amount was enough to suffice for my face and neck area.
I used this product as just a wash for the first few days and once it was applied I found after a few moments it was easy enough to rinse away with minimum effort needed. I'm not keen on thick face washes where it seems to take an age to rinse away so I was pleased that this wasn't one of those.
My skin felt clean after I had patted it dry and despite the lack of 'zinginess' that I normally crave I found it left my face and neck feeling incredibly smooth so I had high hopes for using as a face mask.
Although I have only used this as a face wash on a morning only I decided to test out it's face mask properties after an evening bath when my pores would already be open. After applying the same pea sized amount in the same way as before I left on my skin for the recommended 5 minutes for the maximum benefits.
I found that the product didn't dry despite it being clay based but the longer it was left on my skin the thicker the product felt bizarrely enough. It did feel like it was self heating though this is just my experience of using it and was probably only down to the fact it's been used after a warm bath. The mask washed away just as easy as when used as a face wash and my skin felt just as soft and very clean afterwards.
**Results and Recommendations**
I found that my skin felt incredibly soft and clean after using daily as a face wash and seemed that little bit deep down cleaner when left on longer as a face mask. There was no hint of tautness or feeling dry afterwards like some face washes can leave my skin feeling so I was really pleased with the outcome.
I do sometimes suffer sporadically from spots, mainly on my chin, even at the grand old age of 36 but since using this product daily there hasn't been any signs of any trying to rear there ugly head and I do think this face wash/ mask has helped.
Although it doesn't state on the packaging if it is suitable for sensitive skin I can vouch that I have suffered no ill effects from using this and my skin can be sensitive at times. My husband has also used this and found it to be most beneficial after shaving, especially if used as a face mask before washing off in the shower and has praised it's merits asking me to buy it again in the future.
For £2 this has been a fantastic purchase and despite it lacking that medicated zing that I personally prefer I really can't fault this at all. It leaves my ski feeling cleansed and refreshed when used on a morning and when used on an evening as a mask it leaves my face feeling deep down clean whilst retaining a supple and softness often lacking in such products.
I've had no outbreaks of spots over the past few weeks and whether it's solely down to using this I don't know, but having said that it certainly hasn't aggravated my skin to cause any outbreaks so it's a win win situation as far as I'm concerned. I have used this consecutively for over 3 and a half weeks now, with using at least two to three times mid week on an evening as well and there is still over 3/4 of the product remaining deeming this fantastic quality at an affordable price.
Highly recommended by me.
*Please note that I don't normally copy the vast list of ingredients down into my reviews (unless food related) but if interested they can be found on the side of the product and can be read in store before deciding to purchase*.
I break out quite often and I'm always on the look out for new skin care to try out. Neutrogena is a brand I know and trust so when I picked this up I had high hopes for it and I wasn't disappointed. A 150ml bottle cost me about £3.50 from Boots which I think is pretty reasonable for a drug store face wash. I liked the idea that this was a 2 in 1 product that could be used as a mask and a daily face wash.
The packaging is in a fairly basic silver and orange tube with a flip lid. Its nothing special but it is practical and I have never had an issue with the bottle leaking. You get 150ml or product which lasts a lot longer than what you would think as you only need the smallest amount.
As a face wash, like a said you only need about a 5p dollop to wash your whole face. The face wash is of a very thick 'clay like' consistency which I like. Its a white colour with a minty smell which is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. It lathers up nicely on my face. If you use too much it won't lather up properly and be an absolute nightmare to take off. A little really does go a long way. After the face wash is rinsed off my face feels clean and refreshed. It does a great job of removing make up. It doesn't dry out my skin and leaves it nice and smooth.
I tend to use it as a face mask about twice a week. I take slightly more product than when using it as a face wash and I apply it to my dry face. I leave it on for the recommend 5 minutes then rinse if off. I find rinsing the mask off does take a bit longer then when I use it as a face wash as I like to use more product. I love how my skin looks and feels after using this mask. My pores appear visibly reduced and my skin feels tighter and smoother. It doesn't over dry my skin and gives me a nice glow. I love using this on days when I have been wearing a lot of make up as it gives me a really deep cleanse.
Overall I prefer this product as a mask because I feel it works better. It keeps my spots at bay and my skin looking good. I definitely recommend this product to everyone especially people with oily acne prone skin. Its great value for money and one bottle lasts a long time.
I picked this up on a whim. I was doing my usual shop in the supermarket and decided a face mask might be a nice treat but they had no face masks in store. Then I spotted (no pun intended) Neutrogena visibly clear and picked it up. Visibly clear costs around £4.99 for 150 ml which is not that cheap but it is a two in one product so I shall forgive the price.
*** The packaging**
I like the packaging of this product. It feels and looks professional. The orange colour is cheery and bright and explains clearly what the product is for.
*** So What does it claim to do? ***
Its a 2 in 1 face wash and mask. The instructions state it should be used daily as a wash to help reduce spots and used as a mask to unclog pores and purify deep down. Neutrogena claim it will remove impurities and clear spots for doubly clear skin. They also claim it contains Microclear technology "a breakthrough technology that quickly dissolves oil and eliminates spot causing bacteria"
*** How do you use it? ****
The instructions direct you to use this twice daily. You lather it up with a touch of water rub it over your face and rinse.
You smooth the clay based product over your face in a thin layer avoiding your eyes. They suggest you leave for five minutes then rinse off.
*** My experience of using Neutrogena visibly clear ***
I have used this product in both its forms. The wash/mask is white and thick in consistency so as a wash you don't a lot. I found it lathered up very well and did not irritate your eyes at all. It has a clean fresh smell which I found pleasant. It does not say it contains witch hazel but it did feel slightly similar to a witch hazel based product. You could feel the drying effect which is great for spots and oily skin. However, I don't think I am the target market for this product as I have normal skin. Unfortunately, I found it dried my skin out too much leaving it feeling a little tight. I soon sorted that out with some moisturiser though. On the plus side the product did leave my face very clean and made me feel a bit more alert.
I enjoyed applying this product as a face mask as it has a good thick consistency to it and felt cool and refreshing on my skin. I also get a bit of a kick out of wearing silly looking face masks (sad I know) but I did enjoy looking at the complete white coverage this gives to your face. I left the mask on for five minutes and found that it did harden slightly but not as much as others it was still flexible. After rinsing a lot I still found bits of the mask hard to remove but I do find that with most face masks. Again, with the mask I found my skin looked clear and healthy but was a bit dry.
Overall, I would recommend this product for people with oily skin or those who suffer from spots as I do believe this product would help with that. I wish this product had been around when I was a teenager as I never did manage to find one that helped remove excess oil so well done to Neutrogena on that score. But if you have normal to dry skin I wouldn't buy this product as it is too good at what it does. I wouldn't buy this again but purely because it is not right for my skin otherwise this is a good product.
Isaw an advert for this on tv and it sounded like a very good product. The 2 in 1 wash and mask seemed like a really good idea as it would mean I would not need to buy a separate mask. The product claims to 'help remove impurities and clear spots for doubly clear skin!' One of the key features of this product are that it contains 'microclear' a breakthrough technology that allows oil to dissolve quickly and helps to eliminate spot causing bacteria. I have oily/ combination skin, so this sounded like the ideal product to help me fight breakouts.
A 150ml bottle is priced at a reasonable £3.99 in Boots. The product itself is creamy and of a white colour. It lathers really easily and feels cool on the skin. It is slightly drying, but this can be easily resolved with regular moisturising. It should be used twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
The product has a soft clay based formula making it ideal to use as a mask. The mask unclogs pores and purifies skin. The mask should be smoothed on the skin in a thin layer and left on for five minutes. I sometimes leave it on for 10-15 minutes as 5 minutes seems a little short. Like regular clay masks the mask dries on the skin and hardens. However this mask does not harden as much as pure clay masks. When applying the mask feels cool on the skin and you can actually feel your skin tingling. You then simply wash off. Skin does feel a little dry after use.
I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin from using this product. I primarily use it as a mask now and not so often as a wash. My skin is less prone to breakouts and from regular use I have less oily skin. I am very pleased with this product and for the price it is an excellent bargain. The bottle lasts a long while too, now that I only use it as a mask.
The 'Visibly clear 2-in-1 wash and mask' from Neutrogena is a great multitasking product. It is one of the few things that has helped my face, and is cheaper than my other alternatives. This gets some rave reviews online and after reading many of them and looking at the boots website for several hours trying to decide which facewash to pick, i'm glad i picked this one as it was 100% the right choice.
It comes in neutrogena's classic visibly clear packaging, A squeezy tube that is half bright orange and half grey. The packaging has all of the directions and claims on the back and looks (and smells, we'll get to that later) very unisex. When the tube is squeezed, the wash comes out as a reasonably thick, white, clay consistency. If you are using this a mask I like to apply to dry skin and leave on and if used as a wash, it is applied to wet skin.
It smells very fresh, kind of minty but just very refreshing and is pleasant to use on oily skin as the smell makes you feel clean and cleansed. When used as a mask I apply it to a dry face, avoiding the eye area, and leave it on for around 10 minutes or just until it dries. You can feel your skin tingle, it's not unpleasant at all and feels very purifying. I use this on days when my skin appears blocked and congested and it really gets all the grime out and leaves the face ready for treating further. It's a tiny bit hard to wash off but it nice to really massage it off of the skin and you can almost turn it into a face wash as you're rinsing it off. It's not harsh on my skin, i have combination oily but slightly sensitive skin, and leaves my face smooth and fresh looking.
I use it as my everyday face wash and i have really noticed a difference. My spots have reduced and it really gets all the oil and dirt out from my pores. If i have an active breakout then it helps reduce healing time and redness. Even from the first use i noticed a change and i was surprised that such a cheap product had such an amazing effect. When washing my face with it, i apply it to wet skin and use circular motions to get it all over my face and then rinse off. It's easy to rinse off and again leaves my skin feeling refreshed but not dry or sensitised.
This face wash is available from boots, superdrug and some supermarkets for around £3.99 but it is sometimes on buy 1 get 1 free offers so it's worth keeping an eye out. Overall, this is an amazing 2 in 1 that really gives great results and is reasonably priced. It has several rave reviews both here on DooYoo and on the boots website so i highly recommend you try this out.
My skin is mostly clear and I cleanse and tone daily to maintain this but when I have breakouts on my forehead, I have huge ones. My skin is dry and is quite sensitive so I have to be careful with which products I use and they often react with my skin and makes my face sore or extra dry.
To maintain my skins clarity I like to use a face mask at least once a fortnight to unclog pores etc. For those who have seen face masks in sachets you may realize that if you are using masks frequently £1 masks every week can soon add up. This however, contains at least a 6 month supply of weekly face masks for about £4, a bargain!
The Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash is available at Boots, Superdrug's, Sainsbury's and other Pharmacies and supermarkets. It is very accessible and affordable.
The wash and mask is contained in a squeeze tube form which can sit on a worktop or sink and the product will drain to the bottom. The consistency is quite thick and white. It has a quite strong mint scent which is very refreshing when used.
Primarily I use this as a mask, but it can also be used as a daily wash. I don't feel that this product is the easiest to use, as it is clay based and won't foam, but if applied to a flannel or face wipe, instead of your fingers, it soaps up more and washes your face easier. It leaves your skin clean but your face can feel tight if some of the wash is left to set.
As a mask it is easily spread to cover your face and will set quickly, limiting facial emotion. The mask is refreshing and cooling and you will be able to feel the difference in your skin.
Overall, I really love this wash and would recommend to everyone who frequently buys face mask sachets or wants to improve the condition of their skin. When I use this I find the number of new breakouts I have is reduced and the breakouts I already have are reduced.
I have an oily T-zone yet the skin on my cheeks is often dry and in the past I have found it difficult to find a product that can work for both areas however, this product does the job really well. I use it once a day in the morning as a wash and it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft for a long time afterwards. Since using the product I have become less prone to outbreaks and spots. I only need to use a small amount of the product and replace it approximately every 4 months which makes this product relatively good for money particularly as it's currently on offer in boots.
I also like the fact the product is versatile and can be used as a mask as well as a wash. When used as a mask it doesn't irritate my skin or make it feel tight or too hot it simply dries out excess oil to leave my skin feeling soft and reduces the size of my pores.
I have been using this product on and off for about 3 years now and it is brilliant! I sometimes have a month where I'll try another product but I always go back to this one, without fail.
I used to suffer from occassional breakouts and dry skin, but this always cleared me up. It makes my skin feel really tight and tingly instantly after I have washed it off, which I love as you can tell it's doing something to your skin. I never feel as squeaky clean as I do with this facewash, it seems to really get into your pores for a deep cleanse.
With the option of using it as a mask as well, its versatile in the sense that if you don't feel like one wash is enough you can re apply it as much as you feel like without the fear that it'll break you out.
With the price of just under £5 i dont know whether people would regard the initial price of it as pricey or not for a facewash, so with that respect people may not be willing to try. However I honestly recommend this to people with any skin types as I really think its a skin saviour. I've never heard of anybody disliking this product
