I use Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Scrub because every ow and again I suffer terribly from breakouts on my chin and forehead. I had hoped that by the time I had reached my thirties, that my battle with pimples and spots might have stopped, but alas, this was not meant to be. At certain times of the month it is even worse and I think this is because my chin and forehead are also the greasiest areas of my face. buy this one hundred and fifty mil sized tube from tesco when I do my shopping and it cost me just under three pounds. It contains aloe vera and cucumber and it smells nice and fresh. I contains a lot of little grainy lumps which you can definitely feel as you rub it over your face. This isn't an unpleasant feeling and in fact it makes me feel that i am getting a really nice deep down clean. It rinses off well afterwards and the only thing I don't like about it so much is that it can have a tendency to make my face feel a little tight afterwards. It hasn't prevented the spots however, so in terms of its effectiveness i can only give it two stars. I'm still going to finish to the tube but I think i might try another brand next time just to compare.
This product is developed by dermatologists and is a daily scrub that is designed to help clear spots thanks to its microclear technology. The scrub contains microbeads which claim to gently exfoliate the skin which removes dead skin cells, oil and dirt which are very well known for clogging up pores therefore creating spots. It is enriched with green tea (a very well known spot treatment) and cucumber to help sooth skin. With it being a daily product it is suitable for everyday use. As with most daily scrubs you are advised to use it twice a day (morning and evening). The instructions on the back say to squeeze a small dab into palm and massage onto a wet face then rinse thoroughly.
When squeezing into my hand you can see the lotion is very thick, I started with a small amount around the size of a 5 pence piece, to my surprise this was enough for my entire face, with the lotion in my left hand I then used my right hand to evenly distribute the lotion onto different areas of my face, concentrating on my chin, around my nose and my T zone (forehead and down bridge of nose). It has a clean sterile smell to it with a hint of cucumber which comes out as you apply the lotion. Simply using your fingertips massage the cream into your face, taking extra care where you can get creases (chin, nose etc as these are more prone to clogging and dirt build up). The lotion is very thick once on your face, and feels very luxurious and rich despite it containing microbeads, but you will need to massage it into your skin gently or it can feel a little rough. The lotion is pure white so you can see exactly where you have already applied it, Its almost mousse like but thicker so its lovely to have on your face because your face feels like its getting a good treatment due to the fact that the lotion is very easily absorbed into the skin.
The product is very thick so doesn't come off right away but personally I don't find this a problem. Overall I would give this product full marks. It does work with keeping spots at bay and also helps with spots that already there. Its thorough while remaining gentle with my skin, It hydrated my skin, leaving it in better looking condition and felt it was great value for money, as you only need a small amount each time I find a tube of 100ml lasts me around 2 months. Due to fact that this does actually keep my skin clear I have now ditched the spot treatment gels, that were seriously drying out my skin. This lotion is a great base for a fresh day's make up and is part of normally daily routine, and I defiantly wouldn't be without it now.
Neutrogena visibly clear spot stress control comes in a 150ml tube. The top of the tube is bright orange and the bottom half is clear so you can see the face scrub inside. It has a white flip top cap. The scrub is almost white with a very pale hint of green, shimmery and has lots of tiny green micro beads in it. The tube says that it has microclear technology. It doesn't explain that but I'm guessing it's a good thing!
I hadn't used a face scrub for years but I turned 30 and my skin rebelled by coming out in spots. I needed something to help keep my skin clear and the name jumped out at me, I definitely had spot stress!
The scrub has green tea and cucumber in it to make it soothing and kind to your skin.
You only need a small amount to massage onto wet skin. The exfoliating action is very gentle and when you rinse the scrub off it leaves your skin feeling very refreshed and soft.
But the question is does it stop spot stress???
Honest answer, not 100% but I have definitely noticed a marked improvement. I get less spots and the spots I do get are not as nasty. My skin now looks much clearer so overall I'm very happy with this scrub and shall stick with it.
As I'm writing this it is for sale at boots for £4.79 and on sale at Tescos for £2.93 so its worth looking for offers.
I'm a bug fan of Neutrogena and like to try a lot of their skincare products. I suffer from blackheads on my nose and like to use scrubs to help dig out the dirt that's within them to help reduce their size. I'm not keen on microbeads as I find they aren't gritty enough to work (I like to feel the dead skin being scrubbed away!), but thought I'd try this regardless as it is a brand I trust.
After only a few uses I noticed my skin was brighter and less dry afterwards (it had really lifted off the dead skin), but it did little to help with my blackheads. I know it doesn't say it will tackle blackheads specifically but it doesn say it unclogs pores so I thought it would help somewhat.
I did help with some of my spots, though, and after a few days I noticed my skin had improved. The cucumber in it helped sooth my skin too, but didn't dry it out (which is great for a scrub as some scrubs dry out your skin so much you start to get small flakes of skin. One of the reasons for buying a scrub in the first place - to get rid of loose dead skin!).
I would recommend this, but if you would like a scrub you can feel working then opt for a grittier scrub.
Even at my ripe old age of 28 I suffer from breakouts on my skin. My skin is a combination of normal cheeks, and head, to oily nose and chin. Although I don't suffer as badly as when I was a teenager, I do sometimes look at the mirror in dismay and pile on the foundation.
Whilst shopping I decided to get a cleanser which was specifically designed for treating spots. I looked at the Clearasil section, and couldn't quite bring myself to buy something which is aimed at people 15 years younger than me. I then noticed (hard not to with it's bright orange packaging!) the Neutrogena visibly clear range. I looked through the products and chose the 'spot stress control' which states that it would eliminate blackheads and not dry out my skin. This cost £4.99 from Boots.
It says that this can be used twice daily, and whilst I use it every morning, I use it rarely on an evening. The scrub itself is a light blue gel, with darker blue microbeads. I use a small blob and lather over my face, giving a good scrub as I go. It washes off easily and leaves my skin feeling really smooth and refreshed. The microbeads cause a cooling effect on my skin, which helps to soothe any irritated areas.
This hasn't dried out my skin, and find it leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth. Since using this scrub I have found my skin has really cleared up. I use this scrub at least once a day and have had this bottle for 3 months with about half left. The breakouts are less often and the overall appearance of my skin looks smoother. For the price of this product it gives the results of a more expensive cleanser, and think this is an absolute bargain.
I have to admit, I am a sucker when it comes to spot treatments. Anytime something new come on the market, I am there, waiting to be cured of my skin woes!! And most of the time, I hate to say, I am disappointed. This product will, I'm afraid, be joining that long list of failed 'spot miracles'. As far as a facial scrub goes, it's not outstanding but it does the job. I did find my skin a little dry after, so would recommend a light moisturiser from the same range. It has a pleasant smell and the creamy texture is more appealing than some other brands, it rinses of easily without leaving a residue, which is nice. I didn't see much improvement in my skin, but then again I think I was just expecting to much. Underneath some of the wild claims there is a decent facial scrub, just don't be overly optimistic. Plus I would not recommend it for everyday use as I think spot prone skin should be treated with 'kid gloves'.
Like most young women, spots is something I suffer with, it sometimes feels like the bane of my life! I've tried nearly every product out there for it! My friend recommended Neutrogena Spot Stress Control as using regularly helped keep her skin clear. After a few days of using this my skin did start to look better and within a few weeks my spots were nearly all gone and more importantly, no new spots had popped put. However, I suffer from very sensitive skin and this product did not help that all. My skin has felt drier and tighter since using this so I have had to stop. I would recommend this product to those who have a normal skin type as the product does help to clear skin and reduce spots. However those with sensitive skin I wouldn't recommend this product as it made me skin worse than it was before. On the plus side, the product smells nice and made my skin feel fresh.
Ever since my teenage years I have followed a strict beauty regime of cleanse, tone and moisturise. Thankfully, my sheer dedication has paid off with the results being noticeable and despite being in my mid 40's, I have soft and smooth skin with just a few fine lines located around my eyes, which fortunately, are offering a softer appearance due to my regular use of eye creams. I've always favoured using facial scrubs on my T-zone skin, which is oily on my nose and forehead with dry patches on my cheeks.
I have noticed that if I fail to use a scrub several times a week the surface of my skin will become a little rough. I cannot admit to being loyal to any particular brand and whilst I have a few favourites I tend to alternate with whatever products are on offer at any given time. A product that captured my interest a few months ago is Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control, which is manufactured by Neutrogena, so my purchase was made and this review discusses my experience with using the product.
I must admit that whilst I'm familiar with Neutrogena hand creams, this is the first product I've purchased from their facial care range. The packaging is very appealing to the eye with its vibrant orange colour on the upper section with the lower section being transparent enabling the 150 ml of contents to be visible. Similar to that of other brands, the scrub is contained in a tube, which neatly sits on a flip top lid that is both easy to open and securely close due to its robust hinged section.
The pale blue scrub is easily dispensed where I squirt a small dab into the palm of my hand and I am able to witness the micro-bead particles, which are of a darker blue in colour. The good consistency scrub offers a wonderful clean and fresh fragrance due to its ingredients of green tea and cucumber, which are wonderfully cooling to the skin and I am able to effortlessly apply to my dampened skin. As I massage the product all over my neck and face it creates a slight lather and I am able to witness the tiny particles, which, whilst gentle offer good exfoliating properties. The scrub is easily rinsed away with warm water and it was at this point that I experienced a wonderfully cooling and almost icy refreshing sensation. Some brands of scrubs can leave a slight tackiness on the skin's surface, but this was not the case with this product.
I am immediately able to witness the results, as the surface of my skin feels soft and smooth and I cannot report of suffering any adverse reactions such as redness or soreness, particularly as the scrub is so gentle. I experienced no dryness when using although my cheeks felt a little tight although this is not an issue for me as I always apply moisturiser after using scrubs. Whilst Neutrogena state the product can be used both morning and evening, I choose to use scrubs on alternate days as I do not feel the need to use them more often, particularly as the results are so effective. This is an excellent scrub as it assists in keeping blackheads at bay as well as removing excess oils and dirt and grime. My skin feels squeaky clean after using and its texture reminds me of one of Clinque scrubs, costing four times the price.
In addition to the excellent results, it was the wonderful sensation I experienced after rinsing, which makes this stand out from other scrubs I've used and for this reason it receives five stars from me together with my high recommendation. The scrub should be used within 12 months of opening with the tube being recyclable once empty. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub generally retails at around £4.79 per tube, but at the time of writing, you can purchase two selected Neutrogena facial care products from Boots for just £5.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
