      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Highly recommended product.

I use this product daily and I doubt I will change as it performs its duty very well and for a good price. I have bought expensive moisturisers before and I cannot tell much difference from them and this.

The product says the moisturiser can be used for face, body and hands making it an ideal all rounder moisturiser. It seems to be particularly beneficial for people who have dry skin.

It is an affordable moisturiser and a little can go a long way. A 200ml tub can easily last a few months (for me a good 3-4) if used sensibly earning very good value for money in my opinion. The product boasts to be refreshingly soft and it certainly is. After a shave it is perfect to revamp the skin and gives that refreshing feeling. The moisturiser also gives a slight tan to the skin which is personally a good look. I have had many compliments about my skin texture and look on a night out and it's due to this. Apart from its refreshing feeling and positive visible effects, it seems to be also good for the skin. The packaging boasts the ingredients of jojoba oil and vitamin E which helps with the appeal for the customer but I'm sure these ingredients also have their positives instead of their selling advantages! It soaks into the skin well and lasts all day which is perfect.

No real negative points about this product but I personally use it at night-time but I find out it leaves the skin feeling a little greasy and can cause me to build spots overnight which is why I am giving it 4 starts out of a possible 5. I always forget to use this in the morning because I lack time, but when I do my face certainly feels better.

Overall I would recommend this product not only for females but also for males as some men's moisturisers cost more simply because their 'men's'. It's a good price, excellent visible results and very refreshing. Highly recommended.

        Nivea soft

I read an article a few months back comparing a very pricey skin cream from Creme de la Mer to a bog standard pot of Nivea face cream. The outcome was that the tub of Nivea did pretty much the same as the Creme de la Mer by moisturising the face well and taking care of softness/wrinkles/etc. With that in mind and needing a new face cream I decided to buy a tub of Nivea and was happy at the £4.28 price tag for a 200ml pot.

I decided to buy the soft refreshingly soft moisturising cream instead of the regular pot of blue Nivea cream as it was on offer if I remember rightly and I liked the sound of the ingredients in the cream. The cream is described as such, "Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream with Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E for invigorated, smooth skin.Nivea® Soft is a highly effective moisturising cream for everyday use on face hands and body. The improved formula with Jojoba Oil now contains even more moisturising care and has a refreshing effect on your skin, while Vitamin E helps protect its natural structure."

The cream comes in a big round pot with a big lid that screws off. I like this packaging because it makes it really easy to get into the cream and to be able to get to all of it when you are nearly finished. The cream is a pure white colour and is fairly thick although not greasy or heavy in any way. What I love about it is that I can take a big scoop with my fingers and literally slather it all over my face. When you first apply it you can tell that you have applied quite a thick cream to your skin but I find that it soaks in really well and after a few minutes you cannot tell that you have put cream on.

The cream doesn't have a perfumed smell to it but it does have that familiar Nivea fresh smell that to me just smells fresh and clean and I feel like I am protecting my face when I put this cream on. This cream has been really good to my skin. It is lovely and soft and moisturised and especially in this cold weather I think it's going to be a really good benefit to keep it nice and soft and cared fro.

This cream seems to last forever. I literally use handfuls every night but I am still on my first tub as it never seems to make a dent in it. I think this shows just how much of a good investment this tub of cream in. At the moment it is being sold in special collector tubs designed by the designer Giles Deacon. There are three to collect entitled, Catwalk, backstage and photoshoot and are quite cool although that's not really the reason I bought the cream. I bought it for its great price and wonderful cream inside.

A super smelling all round cream

        ===The Product===

        Refreshingly soft moisturising cream.

        ===Cost===

75 ml small tube for about £2 at Tesco.
Is on sale in numerous outlets and price will vary.

        ===My Opinion===

Well Nivea basic cream has been around for many years and we are all familiar, I am sure, with the little round pots of the stuff.
Personally I have never been very keen on the stuff so would not really have bothered buying any. However I had a pile of little samples a few months ago and one of them was for the new Nivea Soft cream.
Well I absolutely love it! It is a reasonably thickish white cream and the thing like most about it is the gorgeous smell. It does not smell especially perfumed as such but has a lovely clean sort of soapy smell - which I love. It just makes you feel lovely and clean and fresh. I like buying this cream in the little tubes. I know that at £2 they are a more expensive way to buy the cream but I like that size as I can just pop it into my handbag to use as a hand cream mainly. It is fairly light as a cream and soaks in pretty quickly so does not leave your hands sticky for ages afterwards.
I have not used this as a face cream myself as I have a huge tub of other cream I a using up for that but I have used it on my neck and arms and I love the way it makes your skin feel but the smell for me is the best thing about it.
Being from Nivea it would be a decent product anyway but the basic cream was one I never really took too - however this one is a winner for me.
Being able to use it on your hands, face or body is a bonus - especially if you are travelling and want to carry the minimum of items with you.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Great value for a moisturising cream that is effective for face, body and hands.

I have recently started to use Nivea Soft as a hand cream and am really impressed with it. I have really dry flaky skin on my fingers at present and my usual hand creams weren't helping. Nivea Soft though is really soothing and as it contains jojoba oil and vitamin E has healing qualities that are helping to heal my sore hands. It has a pleasant smell and feels lovely (not at all greasy) and soaks in to my hands quickly leaving even the driest spots feeling smooth and rehydrated. I bought it specifically to use on my hands but because it's so light have started to use it on my body and face too. It's very rare to find a cream that works effectively on all three areas so this is a real find and will substantially cut down the weight of my cosmetic bag when I travel! Great value for money too - not sure that I will be returning to my expensive creams and lotions so my bank balance should improve as well as my skin!.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A good everyday moisturiser

Last Christmas I received a small Nivea gift set in our office Secret Santa, which contained full size shower creme and Nivea Soft moisturiser, along with a body puff. I've no idea who my Santa was, and the gift was pretty generic, but I was really pleased with it - Nivea is a brand I've not used much, and the products were things I would use.

The Nivea Soft moisturiser comes in a large tub, 200ml I think, and is for face and body use, which seems like a very sensible thing to me - all your moisturising needs in one product. The moisturiser is white and very creamy. It is not a thick moisturiser, but neither is it a lotion. The scent is a fairly pleasant and generic one which you would expect to find from a brand like Nivea.

When I first used the Nivea Soft moisturiser, I used it on my body and face. I found that it did a reasonable job of keeping my legs and arms soft and smooth, but I've definitely used better body moisturisers - it wasn't a lot of use on dry elbows. It's a bit more lightweight than I like in my body moisturisers, and so when I received some body moisturisers in Christmas gift sets, I started using one of them. Still, the Nivea Soft wasn't a terrible body moisturiser, and it was handy to know that it was there if I ran out of other products. It also means that when I'm away from home I can take just one moisturiser with me, saving space and weight.

I've been using the Nivea Soft as my face moisturiser for five months now, on and off - when I've had samples of ESPA products, I've used them instead as they are fantastic. But that sounds unfair to the Nivea moisturiser, which is actually a good, reliable daily moisturiser. It is pleasant to apply and is absorbed easily into my skin, even after a shower when my face tends to be a bit damp from steam. It has kept my skin soft and smooth, and has not led to any dry patches on my face, which I have been prone to in the past.

While it may not smell as gorgeous as the ESPA products I've raved about recently, the Nivea Soft moisturiser is a very good product, and much more affordable at just over £4 for 200ml. It's perfect for everyday use and has kept my skin in good condition. I'm very pleased that my Secret Santa chose this gift set for me - so whoever you were Santa, thank you!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

4/5 from me, would like more natural ingredients, but it does a great job as it is

I have a wide array of moisturisers in my bathroom, and one currently there is the Nivea Soft moisturiser. It was actually given to me as part of a present at Christmas, but I'm rather glad it was as it's been a great all round moisturiser.

Nivea refreshingly soft moisturiser comes in a white 200ml pot, it has a screw top lid and white/light blue labelling. It currently costs £4.28 from Boots, which I think it on the high side, however it is sure to be cheaper elsewhere if you shop around. It's also available in a 300ml pot, and a 75ml tube which is more travel friendly. The pots are sealed with a foil sheet or freshness, this simply peels back to reveal the cream.

The cream is white, and quite thick. I you turn the tub upside down it doesn't move, Infact you can shake it and it doesn't come out. There is a feeling of richness to it, and the cream has a pleasant smell. I know it contains jojoba oil, but I'm not sure if this is the scent I can smell - either way it's a nice one. To use the cream you simply need to scoop a little out on your finger and rub into your skin. The cream is suitable for face, hands and body. I tend to use it for my hands mainly, and also my face. I find it a bit too expensive to use as a body lotion but have done on a few occasions. The cream is very easy to rub into your skin, and is absorbed much quicker than I was expecting. Many creams seem to leave an oily residue on my hands, but this sinks in after a few seconds and leaves my hands feeling soft and well moisturised. I find the effects of the cream last a few hours if I do not wash my hands too much. On my face it lasts for the best part of the day, and I only have to reapply if I have particularly dry areas of skin or am wearing make-up.

The cream lasts a long while as it is so thick, m tub is still going from Christmas and I use it regularly. It contains vitamin E and jojoba oil, but one thing I do wish is that this cream had more natural ingredients, a look at the ingredients list leaves me a little baffled:

        Aqua , Glycerin , Paraffinum Liquidum , Myristyl Alcohol , Butylene Glycol , Alcohol Denat. , Stearic Acid , Myristyl Myristate , Cera Microcristallina , Glyceryl Stearate , Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides , Simmondsia Chinensis Oil , Tocopheryl Acetate , Lanolin Alcohol (Eucerit) , Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate , Dimethicone , Sodium Carbomer , Phenoxyethanol , Linalool , Citronellol , Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone , Butylphenyl Methylpropional , Limonene , Benzyl Salicylate , Benzyl Alcohol , Parfum .

Overall, this is an excellent all round moisturiser. It lasts a long time and makes a noticabe difference to your skin. It can be a little expensive if not on offer though, and the ingredients aren't as natural as I'd like, so I'm giving it 4/5 stars.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A great every day cream

I received this little pot of moisturising cream in a Nivea gift pack for Christmas. It is a nice little size - small and cute enough to be able to carry around in your handbag. To access the cream, you have to unscrew the lid, you are then greeted with a clean and fresh smelling white cream. The cream itself is white in colour and is quite thick. It's very rich with a luxurious and creamy texture.

You don't need to apply that much make-up to make a difference. Simply dip the tip of your finger into the pot of cream and then apply. It doesn't require much 'rubbing in' and melts into the skin very well. I find that a small pot of this goes a very long way; especially if I am using it on my face. However, if I use it on other areas (elbows and just other skin in general), I do find that I get through a pot of this very quickly.

I have combination skin, where some parts of my skin e.g cheeks are 'normal' and then I get patches of dry skin on the sides of my nose and by my eyebrows. This crème is great because I can just put a little blob each side of my nose before I apply my make up and it will moisturise really quickly. I also find that this moisturises works well overnight. For example if I have a night out, then on the night before I will apply this to my face before bed which results in me waking up with smooth and moisturised skin, meaning that my make up looks good.

I have quite sensitive skin and usually moisturisers irritate my skin and make it go all red and blotchy which leaves me with a 'burning feeling'. Fortunately this crème doesn't my irritate my skin and doesn't leave me with spots like a lot of creams do. There is also something quite soothing about this cream. My skin doesn't feel uncomfortable or greasy either which is great.

All in all I would definitely recommend this cream. It is a great every moisturising cream.

          Thanks for reading!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          an all round great product.

My bag literally contains a whole range of goodies, I'm one of these people who carries around everything I may possibly need; lip balm, hair brush, plasters, nail polish remover pads, anti-bacterial wipes and so on, I actually have a CPR mask for the kiss of life (well you never know, I am a nurse after all!) and one little addition that has muzzled it's way in is the Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream. Sometimes on my way home from a heavy shift, I take my make up off on the train and apply my moisturiser just so I can brush my teeth and jump straight into bed. Or I might use it for my tired hands or even on my neck if I've been wearing a scarf for a long length of time. I can give you a thousand excuses as to why I would carry this little gem around with me!

          Price:
I bought this for around £1 in asda for a little travel size tub or £4.28 for 200ml in Boots (there are definitely cheaper prices elsewhere, I just always use Boots as an example because nearly everyone has a Boots near them!)

          Impression:
As this is a travel size, it fits right into the palm of my hand and it's so conveniently shaped and sized that it just slots into my pocket as if it should've been there all along. The colouring really gives off the impression of the soothing action intended and I love that the colours are neutral so my boyfriend doesn't feel too feminine when he has to use some too! It comes in an almost flat little tub and I've said this before in previous reviews; I hate the dip pot stuff. It encourages transference of bacteria especially if you need to use it when you're out and about so I really suggest using nice clean fingers before use. The smell is very clean and fresh yet doesn't linger on your skin which is nice and just leaves a nice freshness that really has an impact on how I feel the product is working. The consistency is thick yet not too thick, it's suitable to use on my face as well as my feet and elbows and I feel that it's a multi-purpose cream because you can use it on any part of your body that needs a little extra bit of moisture.

          Results:
My skin feels silky smooth and this product definitely gives me that little pick me up when I need it. I have moisturisers that I use on a daily basis but I use Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream when I need to when I'm out and about and it doesn't counteract my usual moisturisers and clog my pores. As it's just a small pot it's suitable for carrying around but I can imagine wouldn't last very long if you're using it all the time, but the small pot is convenient for me as I use it on occasion but it's nice to know it's there!

I would recommend this product as it's very classically Nivea, looking after and protecting your skin whilst moisturising and freshening. I love Nivea products because they sink in very easily and afterwards I feel like I'm not wearing anything which I feel like I get from this product and also what I feel is very important. It's very reliable and when I've had a hard day it's nice to know that I have this little treat in my bag to pick me up.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A good all round moisturising cream that I think is best for lightly dry/normal skin

I first tried Nivea Soft several years ago, in the "Intensive Moisturising Cream" formula. It was one of the few things that I bought directly after a recieving an instore demonstration. I am not sure I even volunteered to test it but the enthusuiastic Nivea lady in Superdrug got me anyway and deposited a blob on my hand. I was impressed by how soft it made my skin. I used to buy it regularly as a result, but over the last couple of years I swtitched to other products mainly for novelties sake. Last month I decided to buy some again and discovered the "Intensive soft" formula has been replaced by "Refreshingly Soft". The helpful staff in Boots told me that as far as they were aware the two products are one and the same although the formulation of the Refreshing version was supposed to be improved to offer increased moisturisation and "refreshment" for the skin. I don't think the products seem any different really but the idea of an improved variant of an old favourite was attractive to me at the time. I paid £4.24 for a 200ml tub.

          THE PRODUCT

A useful thing about Nivea Soft is the fact that it is a multi purpose moisturiser that can technically be used on both the face and body. I took a tub with me last month when I was away for a long weekend and I appreciated the fact I could take one product instead of two. {I know that if I get out of the habit of moisturising my legs daily, even for a weekend it takes me too long to get back into the routine!] You can buy it in both a tub and a squeezy tube, but I have only bought the former so far as it is cheaper per ml. The tub would obviously be more practical if you wanted to take it around in your bag to top up during the day but I personally don't need to.

Nivea Soft is intended to be a daily use moisturiser that is suitable for all skin types. It contains both vitamin E and jojoba oil to help keep your skin in good condition. Nivea claim the product is a highly effective moisturiser that will leave the skin soft and supple and feeling invigorated.

          APPLICATION

The blue and white tub isn't especially fancy but the screw on lid is secure and the opening is wide enough to make scooping the product out easy. There is also a inner foiled lid to remove the first ime you use it which helps to keep the product fresh. I think it is probably more hygienic to use the tube because you can squeeze the cream onto your hands rather than keep putting your fingers in the tub, but as I mentioned above the tub is cheaper.

I like the soft creamy texture of the Nivea Soft and that alone would be enough to make the product live up to its "Refreshingly Soft" name. Being a cream, rather than a lotion, means it does not spread out so quickly across your skin. It is also less drippy though, and therefore less messy. My skin is mostly "normal" on my body - that is not really dry or oily. I do have some dry patches though, such as my elbows. The skin on my face is combination with an oily t zone and dry cheeks. On my cheeks I can use just a tiny blob, which is absorbed quickly and doesn't leave a greasy film. On larger areas such as my legs I tend to use more of course, which means rubbing it in takes longer. On the dry spots, I slather on plenty, which means I have to really work it in. Used in these larger quantities I find it does leave a certain greasiness to the skin - if a mild one. It is perfectly pleasurable to use though and the scent is appealing to me. It doesn't smell of Nivea's famous Creme, but has a light fresh scent that is not too chemical. I do prefer the scent of cocoa butter which I use in a similar way but that is because it is is vaguely chocolatey - hard for other product to compete with that!

          DOES IT WORK?

Although the cream is recommended for facial and body use, I don't find it works well for the former. It is fine when used to soothe my dry cheeks every so often, but if I apply it to my oily t zone, I find that after a few days, my pores look more blocked than usual. Also my mattifying make up seems to come off faster if used over the top of this. I wouldn't recommend it as good for oily facial skins - I think it isn't light enough. Elsewhere, my skin is less fussy and the cream works well. It really does leave my skin extremely soft as well as instantly smoother to the touch. The results easily last to the next day, so if I do get a it lazy and skip an application, the skin is still soft enough. I have also found it gentle to use after shaving my legs - I don't apply it immediately but let the leg skin calm down a little first.

As for the really dry elbows of mine, I haven't found that the cream makes any immediate diference. After using it daily on my elbows for a couple of weeks, there was some iprovement to the look and feel of the skin but I have used other moisturisers that have made more of a difference in the same amount of time. So I don't think it is intensive enough for really dry patches.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THE NIVEA SOFT?

The product doesn't quite suit me as a one for all all-over moisturiser, for the reasons mentioned above. However I like the cool and refreshing feel of it on the skin and the speed that it makes a difference to my skins softness, very dry skin excepted. I don't think it is worth putting on the amount needed to make a small difference to those tougher areas - it's general ease at being absorbed isn't apparent then either. Overall, I would recommend this as a good lightly moisturising general purpose product, but if you have an oily t zone, you will probably want to use a different facial product. I will replace my tub when it is empty, to use on my hands mainly as I think that using it all over will work out more expensive than the cocoa butter product that I use most often.

This product is frequently on offer somewhere, but the standard price seems to be around £4.25 for the 200ml. I have also noticed that a 300ml tub is also available for around £6.00, while the 75ml tube is £2.45. Stockists include most supermarkets as well as the usual places such as Boots.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A fantastic product for anyone who needs a little extra moisture!

I have used Nivea Soft moisturising cream for a while now, I first received a tub of it in a goody bag after completing the Race For Life, and found that it is a really good product.

I tend to use the travel-size tub of this product, which is a 25ml pot. This is a great product because of the size, which is great to put in my pocket to take to work, where I use a lot of cleaning products that dry out my hands. I use this product on my hands and face, and it soothes and softens my hands even when they are at their driest. I also get patches of dry skin during the winter, especially when it snows (as it is now), and this product clears them right up.

The product smells really nice, very clean, and works fantastically. I would recommend this product to anybody who has dry hands or face. I have never really used it on any other part of my body, so I can't really say how it works on the rest of my skin, but for my hands and face it is fantastic.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

a pleasant face cream from Nivea..

            ~Nivea Soft~

Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream is an everyday cream which is suitable for use on the face and body. This cream contains jojoba oil for its refreshing effect and Vitamin E to protect the skin. Nivea promise that this cream will leave skin soft and supple. It is suitable for all skin types and has been dermatologically approved.

            ~Packaging~

This cream is presented in a round, white plastic pot with a screw top lid. The pot has a simple blue and white design and inside there is a foil seal in place to keep the cream fresh. This cream has a 12month shelf life.

            ~Price and Availability~

Nivea Soft is available in stores such as Boots and Wilkos. Current prices in Boots are as follows :

            *75ml tube - £2.45
            *200ml pot - £4.28 (currently £3.00 in Tesco!)
            *300ml pot - £6.02

All the above products are part of a 'buy one get one half price' offer at the moment.

            ~My Thoughts~

I have grown up award of the Nivea brand as my Mum used the blue tin when I was little. She has moved on to using the Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream so this came recommended by her. I was in a rush one day and forgot to apply my usual moisturiser before heading to my parents home. My skin was a dry mess so I used some of Mums Nivea Soft. She offered me a little pot she received as part of a gift set and I gladly accepted. It is surprising how long one little 50ml pot has lasted considering I have been using it nearly everyday for a month.

This cream is kept beautifully fresh thanks to the foil seal. The cream is very thick and I would probably say too thick for those who have normal or oily skin. I have really dry skin on my forehead and around my chin/nose but less dry skin on the rest of my face so finding the right moisturiser suitable for my skin can be difficult. I wouldn't say that Nivea Soft is my preferred moisturiser but it does offer value for money and is nice to use.

This thick white cream does require a lot of rubbing in. When applying this cream to my face, I am aware of how cool and soothing it feels. This sensation is lovely as my skin feels instantly refreshed and comfortable. The cream if not rubbed in properly leaves a slightly oily feeling residue on my skin which isn't nice. It isn't a face cream that I can smooth across my face and leave to absorb as it simply doesn't happen! It needs to be massaged in quite quickly. Once applied this face cream feels lightweight and doesn't seem to clog up my pores.

This face cream has a pleasant scent which I find to be fresh and it reminds me of the ocean for some reason! It does leave a subtle scent on my skin but is in no way overpowering or harsh. This cream is incredibly gentle and I mainly use it on my face as a day time moisturiser after cleansing and toning. My skin is left feeling soft and smooth. Dry areas are relieved for a short while and my face is left in a healthy condition throughout the day. I have tried this on other parts of my body including my dry knees and elbows and find that it works a treat to smoothen them out.

            ~Conclusion~

There is no SPF in this cream so it wouldn't be practical for wearing alone during warmer months. I find this cream to work well at softening and refreshing my skin. Despite being really thick, I do find that this cream isn't amazing on my dry forehead. It moisturises this area for a short while but the dryness starts to become noticeable after a few short hours. It is great on the rest of my face though. My pot is just about empty so I will replace it with another moisturiser to try. I wouldn't mind using this again in the future though but not when the dry areas are worse than normal.

            Thanks for reading :)

20/12 - Just spotted a 75ml tube of this available in Poundworld. Worth checking out if you have a local store :)

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              Such a good product

I bought this cream while on holiday this summer. However, it is slightly different to the one in the picture, the only difference being that mine is in a tub, not a tube.

While I was on holiday, I got slightly sunburnt. I didn't have any good moisturiser, apart from my facial one, so when I was at the local supermarket, I picked up this, just for the main reason that I knew Nivea was a brand I could trust not to irritate my skin. I used this cream every day, just when my skin was feeling dry or tight.

The cream itself - The cream is a pure white colour and very thick in consistency. When applied to my skin it sinks in quickly and doesn't feel greasy or lie in a sheet on the top of my skin. My skin smells gorgeous after I have used it. I can't put my finger on the exact smell, but it is fresh and clean, almost like baby wipes.

I didn't find any disadvantages with this cream at all, I think it would even be suitable to use on people with sensitive skins.

My Thoughts - I love the way my skin feels after I use this cream. It is very nourishing and moisturises deeply, even making the places which are usually dry (elbows and knees) feel really soft. Even when my skin was sore with sunburn, it didn't irritate, but soothed and cooled me down. I would even go so far as to say it was better than some of the (much more expensive) aftersuns I have tried over the years.

Overall, I was very impressed with this cream and would recommend it to anyone. Even though I use quite a bit of the cream each time, its's thick consistency means that a little goes a long way. The smell is refreshing and keeps my skin smooth and hydrated.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

A brilliant versatile moisturiser, does exactly what it says on the tub.

I have always been a fan of Nivea products; a quick scrabble through my bedside draw produced a Nivea Lip Gloss, Nivea hand cream, Nivea Body Lotion, Nivea deodorant and a tub of Nivea Soft cream.

As you know from previous reviews I am not a girly girl, but I do realise the importance of a skin care routine to hold blemishes, wrinkles and patches of dry skin at bay.

My Nivea Soft is in a small screw top tub, but it is the same product that is shown in the Dooyoo catalogue.

For the last ten years I have used various Nivea moisturising creams for my face, the one I am currently using is Nivea Soft - Face, Body and Hand cream. I think I have always favoured Nivea as my Nan recommended it to me when I was very young, she said it stopped her from going wrinkly.

Nivea Soft comes in various size tubs and tubes, a 300ml tub can be brought off amazon.co.uk for £3.61 with free delivery (8th July 2012).

Once you unscrew the lid of the tub you are presented with the product, unlike quite a few other tubs of moisturiser I poses Nivea generously fill the tub right to the top. The cream looks smooth and rich and is glossy white, very similar to aqueous cream. The fragrance of the cream is sweet and smells a bit like baby lotion. The feel of the cream is soft and smooth; it feels lightly whipped, like a body soufflé.

I use this cream mainly on the few dry patches on my face after I have used Nivea cleanser and toner. The cream is easily absorbed; I only need a few small dabs of cream to hydrate my skin. Due to the versatility of this cream I am more than happy to scoop a small amount into my hands and use it as a hand cream, again the product is easily absorbed into my skin and leaves my skin smooth and hydrated with out feeling greasy.

I have to agree with the marketing on the pot "The highly effective formula with Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil is quickly absorbed, leaving your face, body and hands sensationally soft" it sums up in 21 words what I take a whole review to say.

When I went camping recently I took one tub of Nivea soft with me, if I used different products for my face, hands and body my wash bag would have been considerably fuller.

My Nan is 81 now, and I have to admit the wrinkles are showing, but her skin is still soft. I recommended Nivea Soft to my daughter in law when she got unsightly dry red skin around her nose and it cleared it up within a few days, she now swears by Nivea.

In conclusion I personally feel that Nivea Soft is a great product and I will continue to use it on my hands and face and occasionally on my body for the rest of my days.

                Thank you for reading.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  Very nice moisturiser! Would recommend!

I love all Nivea products and this is no exception. I bought it initially because I was going on holiday and moisturise a lot more on holiday so wanted a big pot of relatively inexpensive moisturiser that could be used everywhere. This moisturiser can be bought in a tube, small pot or huge pot which is good for me because I wanted a big pot, but now use the tube as I don't go through as much. It's fairly cheap - I think the huge pot costs about £6 but it lasts ages because a little moisturiser goes a long way. The big pot is more cost effective but the smaller pot and the tube aren't over-priced, they're just more expensive per ml.
The moisturiser itself is lovely. It can be used everywhere - body, hands and face - which is why I bought it because I didn't want to have take loads of products with me. For me, it works perfectly, although I know after a couple of weeks it made my Mum's face a little greasier because it's heavier than her usual face moisturiser so if you were using it long term, I would probably recommend buying a moisturiser specifically for the face, and just using this on your body. It doesn't feel greasy on application and soaks in pretty quickly and feels very light. A little goes a long way, even on really dry skin and the difference are immediate! Your skin immediately looks so much healthier and hydrated. Long term, it stops the skin drying out and even after not using it for a few days the effects are still there so now I usually just use it a couple of times a week.
Overall, it's a really nice moisturiser, and very good value for money!

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

A nice cream for face and body

Over the past few months I have been using a lot of moisturiser by moisturising my body every single night in order to prevent stretch marks during my pregnancy. Most of the time I have been using moisturiser designed specifically for this purpose however I recently ran out of this and was unable to buy any at my local Tesco so I decided to see what else was available. I came across a pot of Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream, the fact that it was on offer was what drew me to it but I have used Nivea products in the past and have always been impressed with how good they are so I decided it would be ideal.

                  Packaging
The Nivea Soft comes in a small white round plastic pot. The pot has a clear label on the top of the lid giving the impression that the information is printed directly onto the pot. The word "Nivea" is written in a dark blue rectangle with the word "Soft" written just underneath. The areas which the cream can be used on are just underneath this and states that you can use the cream on your hands, face and body. Right at the bottom of the lid is a statement about the cream which says "Refreshingly soft moisturising cream" this is all written in blue. Behind the writing are blue swirls of colour and bubbles. There is a label wrapped around the sides of the pot, this contains the same information as what is on the lid. On the base of the pot is a peel able label, this contains a statement about the product and the ingredients, the information about the product is a little limited, however the information that is there is clearly set out and easy to read. The lid of the pot simple screws on and off, when you first remove the lid there is a piece of foil covering the top of the pot with the word Nivea written all over it, this simply peels off once you are ready to use the cream, I think the idea of this is to show that the cream has not been tampered with.

                  The Cream
Nivea Soft is basically a moisturising cream which can be used on the hands, body or face making it very versatile. The cream contains Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E which helps to leave your skin lovely and soft, it is described as being fast absorbing, dermatologicaly tested with long lasting moisturisation. I have tried Nivea products in the past and have always been impressed with them, but it was the promise of the cream being fast absorbing that appealed to me. I moisturise my body every night before bed and there's nothing worse than wanting to get into bed but having to sit and wait for your moisturiser to soak in, its either that or just get in bed and get moaned at by my husband for being as he puts it "greasy." The Nivea Soft Moisturiser when you remove the lid and foil cover is just a plain white cream, it has a reasonably thick consistency, however not so thick that you actually have to scoop lumps of it out as with some body butter type moisturisers, you can just run your fingers over the top of the cream to remove a small amount which is handy when using it over your body. There is nothing on the pot to say what the cream was going to smell like, however when I first smelt it it smelt just like the regular Dark Blue pot of Nivea cream, its a fragrance I cannot really describe, it is slightly floral and also very delicate, when applied to your skin you can smell the fragrance of the cream however it is definitely not overpowering and does not mingle with the fragrance of any perfumes you apply. The Nivea Soft Moisturiser is not greasy or oily to touch and has an almost cooling effect when applied to your skin.

                  Price and Availability
Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream can be purchased from a variety of shops such as Superdrug and Boots as well as some supermarkets. I actually purchased my 200ml pot of cream from my local Tesco when it was on offer for £1.97, it should have been £3.95 but it was half price when I purchased it. I think at half price it was a bargain, however I do think that when full price it is of reasonably value, you really do not need much of the cream at once so the 200ml pot will last quite a while and go a long way making it good value for money if you do not mind paying out for it initially.

                  My Opinion
I have used my Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream several times now before bed and so far have been pleased with the results. I love the smell of this moisturiser, but I do like the smell of most of the Nivea products, I always feel that this leaves my skin smelling fresh. The cream lives up to its promise of being quick at absorbing, I can happily apply this before getting into bed and by the time I am ready it has fully absorbed and I am just left with lovely soft skin. I have had no problems using this moisturiser and have suffered no adverse reactions to it at all. In my opinion this cream is good value for money as I find I only need a small amount at a time, however it is currently on offer and is half price so I might even stock up on it to get more for my money. I would definitely recommend this moisturiser to anyone looking for a gentle yet effective moisturiser, what I particularly like about Nivea Soft is that it is so versatile, I can literally use it anywhere, my body, hands or face and it is just as effective, it certainly saves on having loads of different moisturisers for different parts of your body which I what I tend to find myself doing most of the time. Overall this is an excellent and effective moisturiser and one which I would recommend and certainly purchase in the future.
