If you are one of these people, like myself, who just can't be bothered to go through a long skincare regime at the end of a busy day, then this is the product for you. The Nivea Visage 2-in-1 Cleanser and Toner will remove your make-up, cleanse your skin and leave you feeling refreshed. It has a light texture and I find that a little goes a long way on my skin. I use it in the morning and evening and it gets rid of all the make-up and everyday dirt from my face which means that it won't feel dry and tired when I wake up in the morning. It has a lovely smell that is fresh and leaves your skin smelling good. I have very dry skin and I find that this eliminates any dry patches that I have, however I still find the need to moisturise in the morning otherwise the dry patches will reappear during the day. At £4.34 (from Tescos) for a 200ml bottle, it may seem a bit expensive compared to others, however don't forget that you won't need to buy seperate cleanser and toner so this will probably save you money. I also find that it does last quite a while as you really don't need an awful lot to do the job.
With me, both in personality and appearance, what you see really is what you get. That's not to say I don't care about my appearance - I'm clean and smell nice, I'm just not a fan of make up. My usual beauty routine was a bit crap - I bought Asda's facial wipes because I couldn't be bothered with my separate cleanser and toner. Recently my boyfriend's mum gave me a Nivea gift set that she didn't want to use. Not one to say "No" to a freebie, especially from a brand name I trust not to irritate my sensitive skin, I said "Yes"! * PACKAGE A simple white plastic bottle, about 6 inches tall and 3 inches wide with a navy blue lid, the bottle isn't anything special but it isn't bright and tacky either. * APPEARANCE The product itself is a milky white liquid, slightly more runny than your average moisturiser but thicker in consistency than most cleansers. * SMELL The cleanser smells somewhat like Nivea sun lotion. It is quite pleasant and much milder than traditional Nivea moisturiser. * PERFORMANCE The bottle tells you to apply the cleanser with cotton wool and wipe clean or rinse off with water. I prefer to apply a small amount (about the same size as a 5 pence coin, or 10 pence if I need a more thorough clean) with my fingertips, smoothing it over my neck and upwards over my face, avoiding the eyes. A few seconds later I rinse with warm water. It rinses off easily and I pat my face dry with a towel. Nivea recommend that you follow this with their Day or Night creme but I use Nivea Visage Oil Free Moisturising Fluid, which accompanied it in my gift set. * DOES IT WORK? I was skeptical about whether this would be more effective than separate cleansers and toners that I have tried but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm quite luckily to have good skin, that is I have normal skin that is sensitive with occasional dry patches and 1-2 small spots a month at the time of my period/PMS. (I swear its a warning beacon: "Stay clear - this woman has PMS!") If you have very dry or greasy skin this product may not be as effective for you, although it does claim to be for all skin types. Witch Hazel is well known for it's ability to clear spots/heal cuts but I imagined that it was just another fancy ingredient. I eat my words! The Witch Hazel in this product healed an annoying little spot that I had on my forehead. Previously I had to wait for spots to clear naturally but not now I use Nivea 2 in 1 cleanser and toner. * WOULD I RECOMMEND IT? You bet! It hasn't irritated my sensitive skin, it clears spots and my skin is left feeling fresh and soft. * PRICE I got this free but you can buy this from Boots for £3.95.
