This is the only toner that did not make my face feel tight and dry. It leaves your face feeling clean, moisturized, smooth and firm. I am very happy with this product. I have been using it for about a year now. It seem that I am not the only one who likes this product. I can be difficult to find so when I do spot it I pick up two. I am very happy with the result from this product. You should try it.
Please note this product has recently been reformulated and is now called Gentle Refreshing Toner, it is now a blue liquid not pink as in the photo. Over the years I have tried lots of expensive skincare brands in an effort to sort out my very combination skin. Then almost to my annoyance I hit upon a very simple and cheap routine! Part of my new routine is this great toner. It retails for just £3.99 but like a lot of Nivea products you can get it quite a bit cheaper if you stray away from Boots. I know Sainsbury?s sometimes do half price offers on Nivea. This toner doesn?t have any exotic ingredients, nor does it make any grand promises; but it does do exactly what it is supposed to do i.e. tone the skin without irritation. It contains camomile and aloe vera to soothe and hydrate. This means it should be suitable for sensitive skin. As it is alcohol free it doesn?t strip the skin which can cause the skin to get flaky or make more oil. An unusual addition is vitamin B5. Usually found in shampoos, Vitamin B5 is great for skin, as it is anti-ageing and can prevent wrinkles. Some toners I have tried such as Lancome?s Tonique Controle can make spots worse because they contain comodogenic (pore clogging) ingredients. When I checked Nivea?s ingredients there were none that can clog the pores like isopropyl myristate (to see a list of ingredients that block pores and can cause acne or irritation visit www.zerozits.com/Articles/article6.htm. Therefore it?s no surprise that my spots are quickly vanishing, as indeed are any dry flaky patches. This really does seem to have helped normalise my skin Nivea Gentle Refreshing toner comes out of the bottle looking like blue water . Used after cleansing it removes any residue of cleanser adds a little moisture and refreshes. It is supposed to be suitable for all skin types, but I think it would be a bit harsh on very dry skin. The packaging is quite a basic plastic bottle, but it is
not that cheap looking. Usually toners come in bottles of 250ml but this one contains only 200ml, nevertheless I would still say it is well worth the money. The only quibbles I have with it are the slightly cheap floral, chemical smell and the fact that it contains a lot of artificial chemicals and preservatives. Not one for you natural cosmetic fans, although thankfully Nivea do not test on animals. Gentle Refreshing toner is available for Boots, Superdrug, supermarkets and independent chemists
