Advantages: good value and works
Disadvantages: nothing what so ever
I have used face cream since a teenager but I have to say never night cream, not sure why really but I am quite lax at removing make-up at times.
After decide ding it was time to put this right I set off to buy something.
***WHY I CHOSE NIVEA***
I have pretty much always had a good experience with all Nivea products I have used and class it as a staple that I always resort back to even if I try new products.
***THE PACKAGE***
The cream comes in a dark blue cardboard box which matches the quite heavy ceramic pot with a screw top lid inside. I find this great as you can quickly identify between the day and night cream with one glance. Another thing I like about the box is the picture of the jar on it (50ml) actually represents the size of the pot inside, all to often you buy a box with a tiny pot inside!
***HOW TO USE***
Simply clean you face of make-up and daily grim before bed and apply the cream by massaging into the skin.
***THE CREAM ITSELF***
When you open the pot you immediately get the distinctive Nivea smell, hard to explain but there is nothing like it. Clean, fresh and just oozes traditional face cream used by generations.
The cream is off white in colour and very rich and creamy - lovely and feels luxurious and soft when applied.
***WHAT THEY PROMISE***
"Smoother , younger- looking skin" and with the added Q10 "Fights existing lines and wrinkles and regenerates skin during the night" - Taken from the product box.
***SO DOES IT DELIVER?***
The Q10 is a coenzyme found in our skin, so using this in a product seems natural, it is used to help boost our skins diminishing levels which naturally happens as we age. Using a cream with this in turn this helps our skin look and feel younger as it helps to prevent the damages of day to day living and smoothes the visual signs of fine wrinkles.
I admit I was sceptical as to how well a night cream would work but, I am amazed! Within a few days of using the cream my skin felt and looked more youthful. My skin has a more plumped up feeling to it, leaving my skin much less taught and dry in the mornings.
I am lucky enough not to have many fine wrinkles as yet but am using this as a way of trying to prevent them for longer! Saying that there is a definite improvement in the outer corners of my eyes where I have a fine line starting. It looks much less pronounced after just over a week of use, therefore I have great expectations from this cream, to the point where I am going to buy the eye cream as I already have the day cream too.
The cream is easily absorbed into my skin with a slightly moisturised touch lasting just a few minutes, leaving my skin feeling refreshed before bed time.
So does it deliver? Yes it does and I am defiantly keeping this one in my cabinet!
At a price of around £10 for 50ml it is a good value as it last a good amount of time as the cream is so thick you only need to use it sparingly. I bought mine in Boots as part of a deal 2 for £12 which is superb value and you get Boots points too!
