I was shopping in the supermarket when I came across a few offers in the beauty/skincare department and when I noticed these Nivea Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes on special offer, I was curious to try them. My reason for the interest was that I'd already tried the Fragrance Free ones before with me having sensitive skin but I liked the idea of having a scent, especially if these were gentle on skin. I like Nivea for skincare products and with these being a great price compared to the usual RRP, I thought this was as good a time as any to try these out and see how they reacted with my sensitive skin. PACKAGING These come in the usual Nivea branded packaging, a white soft packet with the Nivea logo around it and in dark lettering it says 'Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes' there is also a sticker which reseals, you pull it up to take out the wipes. It also clearly states that these are 'Alcohol Free' and in a pink band says that these are for 'Dry & Sensitive Skin' which covers me and this packet includes 25 wipes. On the front it gives a small summary of what these do and on the reverse of the packet it has a list of ingredients and also gives directions of use, covering all information anyone would need to know. NIVEA GENTLE FACIAL CLEANSING WIPES These wipes being for sensitive skin are meant to cleanse, tone and hydrate the skin. These are great for removing make up and waterproof mascara and lastly, these are also suitable for sensitive eyes. These wipes are enriched with natural Almond Oil and Hydra IQ which all help the skin, it helps to gently cleanse and also leave skin hydrated and soft as well as the Almond Oil being nourishing making skin feel hydrated and look much healthier. It all sounds ideal for my skin type and this is what reinforced my decision when picking these up as I wanted my skin to look healthier. Upon taking these out of the packet, it is easy to do as you just need to lift up the sticky label and pull one wipe out and then reseal it as good as you can so that the wipes in the packet do not dry out. The wipes are lovely and soft made of cotton and they have a really light perfumed scent which is nice and it doesn't irritate my face at all. These are very gentle on skin and easy to wipe the face with, if I am using them to take make up off, there is never any problems and it all comes off easily and in doing so I also feel my skin is being looked after at the same time so it makes it a bit better all round. These are the nicest wipes I have used due to their softness and the scent, my face smells really nice after using these. I have also been using these for a good few months now as I have since gone back and purchased more packets and they are great, no irritation on my skin and it makes me face feel a lot better hydrated which is what it said it would do. I don't really have as dry a feeling as I did before and it just makes my skin feel very well cleansed and I like that as I have hardly suffered from spots at all since using these. A pack should last a while unless you are using one a day which I do then it will do you just under a month. Having used the Gentle and Fragrance Free wipes, I'd say I prefer the Gentle ones as you get more of a scent and since I now know that I can have the scent and it doesn't irritate my skin, then I am happy to opt for these. I prefer the results with these wipes and although they cost a bit more than others, they do give good results and they feel better on your skin. These are so easy to use and even when I come in from a night out, with these I will make myself use a wipe to take my make up off and my skin does feel so much better for it, these are always good to have in the house. COST You can buy these wipes from places like Boots and Superdrug but they are also sold at all supermarkets. Tesco sell them at £2.90 a pack whereas Asda only charge £2 for them. The official Nivea website is http://www.nivea.co.uk/.
I picked up a Nivea Visage discounted travel set from Superdrug after Christmas and ended up saving the included facial wipes until August, when I decided to take them on holiday with me to the Isle of Wight. I don't like using cleansing wipes every day - I'm not convinced they clean well enough, and I prefer a proper cleansing and toning routine - but I was happy enough to use them for a week to save space and time. My pack, which was a soothing pale pink, contained 20 wipes. The pack stated that the wipes were designed for dry and sensitive skin. My skin is actually slightly oily, but it IS sensitive, so I decided to give the wipes a go. The wipes are designed to cleanse, tone and hydrate the skin, removing makeup and waterproof mascara; it is stated that they are suitable for sensitive eyes. They contain almond and calendula oil to help moisturise and condition the skin. I used the wipes at night in order to remove makeup and cleanse my skin. Each wipe has a delicate floral scent which is very pleasant. They felt gentle and soothing on my skin, and I experienced no irritation while using them. Judging by what was on the wipe, they did a pretty good job at removing most of my makeup, including powder, blusher and eyeshadow. They were less effective at removing mascara - non-waterproof mascara at that - so I had to use another product to remove it. Luckily I had brought some eye makeup remover with me - I've never yet encountered a facial wipe that can remove mascara! After use, my skin felt pretty clean and I didn't feel the lack of a proper cleanser. My skin also felt soft and smooth, though not greasy. I applied some light moisturiser afterwards, and my skin looked and felt in good condition. I had feared that the wipes would be bad for my skin or bring me out in spots, but this wasn't the case. Even though they are designed for dry and sensitive skin, they seemed to do a good job on my oily skin. After I got back from holiday, I continued to use the wipes on an occasional basis until they were used up. I was pleased with their performance throughout this time. Packs of 25 wipes are widely available from Boots, Superdrug, supermarkets and other stores stocking toiletries, at a cost of £2.99 which is a bit pricey but not the most expensive I've seen. I would consider buying them again if they were on special offer, for occasional use only. I still prefer my proper cleansing and toning routine!
I use different types of facial wipes to remove facial make up and also eye make up. I find wipes so much easier to use than having to use a separate eye make up remover and a facial cleanser. The ones I used most recently were bought in twin pack and only cost me £2.99 - this worked out at only £1.50 for a pack of 25 wipes and I bought these as they were so much better value than my usual Johnsons Facial Wipes. I have used a lot of Nivea products in the past and their range seems to suit my skin type perfectly so I had no reason to doubt the effectiveness or the high quality of these facial wipes. As with most packs of facial wipes, these come in a plastic little pack with a strip across the top. When the strip is pulled back you are able to get inside to pull out individual little white square shaped most wipes. The tab is resealable and smoothes back into place so that the wipes don't dry out between uses. These wipes have a soft and delicate fragrance, which is barely there. The wipes themselves are strong and gentle at the same time and I have used them to remove both facial make up and eye make up, including mascara, eye shadow and eye liner. The wipes are easy and simple to use and I ever feel that I have to drag or pull at my skin. They leave no sticky residue on my skin and my face feels clean a fresh after I have used them. They are great for holidays or when I am in a rush and I think I like them just as much as I do my usual Johnsons' Facial Wipes. Unfortunately, they are no longer available at the price I paid for them, and in fact I haven't seen them in the twin pack again in a while. However, if I do, then I will be sure to stock up with more as they are fantastic quality and great value for money. Highly recommended.
PRODUCT ------------ Recently, I ran out of face wipes and I was looking for something a little more affordable than my current brand. I noticed these Nivea wipes were on offer at a whopping £1 and decided to buy them on a whim. However, I was disappointed to find that for me this product is full of downfalls. At first I thought the packaging was appealing and that the wipes inside would do their job. However, the material of the wipe isn't smooth, it is rough and coarse. I often regard them to a cheap baby wipe, rough and unappealing. Another downfall is that they make my facial skin sore. I find myself rubbing more than half a dozen times to get the make-up off my face and my skin is left sore after the first stroke. So imagine the pain after several strokes or in fact rubbing. By the time you have wiped one eye clean it has dried out. When I use them I use them to generally clean my face. The product comes inside a white plastic wrapper with a resealable sticky flap. There is a nice pattern on top of the flap with the branding logo of Nivea placed on it. The product is easy to open but may be a little touch on its first opening and it is fully sealed. RECOMMEND ----------------- I would not recommend this item to anyone. It does not matter how cheap they are in store or online. I have several Nivea products but these facial wipes definitely are not worth it. It states they are for dry skin but I highly recommend that you do not use them on dry skin as it could worsen your condition and/or make your face sore.
Recently I was running low on face wipes and whilst shopping in home bargains decided to grab a packet so as not to completely run out. Aside from a lot of brands that I had not heard of before, there was little choice but to opt for these Nivea Daily Essential wipes. My skin is fairly sensitive so I always opt for a brand I know as anything too cheap runs the risk of causing my skin to flare up. The Nivea wipes came in a twin pack for £2.99 which was quite good value. These particular wipes are for dry/sensitive skin so are ideal for my skin type. Each pack contains 25 wipes. I use one wipe a day, in the evening to remove make up, so these last me between 3 and 4 weeks. At £1.50 each, a pack is pretty good value for me. The wipes come in a white plastic wallet as picture above. On top of the pack, there is a clear sticky tab that pulls off and reseals so wipes can be removed and then the pack resealed to keep the remaining wipes moist. The wipes themselves feel of good quality. They are quite thick and moist and do not feel like they would come apart easily in use. On my skin they feel moist and remove make up well. They remove mascara well too, which I have found that other wipes struggle with. It does take a bit of work to remove it thoroughly but they definitely remove most if not all. The wipes are gentle on my skin too and my skin has not suffered any adverse reaction to them. They aren't drying either nor do they feel like they have stripped the moisture from my skin. I always follow the wipes with a face wash anyway as I don't feel that wipes alone completely clean my skin but these wipes definitely do a good job. Overall, these wipes are of good quality, cleanse well and are gentle on my skin. I would definitely buy them again.
=Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes= I have been trying a range of different Facial Wipes, and when I went to get another packet of Superdrug own brand, I saw that they had these Nivea wipes on offer at £1.59 instead of £3.05, so I thought half price, I will try them. =Wipes= These wipes come in a pack of 25 wipes, and they have a pull back label on the front where you get the wipes from and reseal when you have finished. The wipes are designed for dry and sensitive skin, and they are described as gently cleansing, moisturising as well as removing make up including water proof mascara. It is suitable for sensitive eyes, as there is natural Almond Oil and Hydra IQ in the wipes. =Size= There are 25 wipes in the packet and each wipe is about 20cm square and are a soft texture. =In Use= The wipes are easy to get from the packet, and are moist and soft to the touch, they have a very subtle fragrance, but not strong enough to pick out any particular smell. =Using The Wipes= The first part I tried was on my eyes as I had got water proof mascara, and was intrigued as to whether this would work, but I was pleased to say that with one wipe the mascara came off as clean as a whistle, where as with some other wipes I would go through 2 or 3 wipes. The wipes are strong enough to use both sides of the wipes, I usually use the first side for the eyes (making sure I keep my eyes closed!) and a wipe of the rest of my face and the 2nd side to refresh and pick up any pieces that I may well have missed. =Between Uses= I found that the wipes stayed moist between uses, although what I would have preferred would have been a plastic shutter type finish, as I find these are more secure. . =Cleansing and Moisturising= I found that my skin felt cleansed and fresh after I had used these wipes and I did not feel the need to put any moisturiser till either at bed time, or if I use before bed time then I don't bother with a seperate moisturiser. =My Overall thoughts= I was really impressed with these wipes, my skin felt really soft, and these have to be one of the nicest brands that I have used, and the best that my skin has felt. =Would I recommend= I would highly recommend these wipes. =Would I buy again= Yes I would again at £3, although I would stock up with a few packets if they come on at half price again. k =Ingredients = Aqua, Isopropyl Stearate, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Methylpropanediol, Glyceryl Glucoside, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Sodium Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Limonene, Linalool, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Parfum. A full 5 stars from me.
~*~ Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes For Dry & Sensitive Skin ~*~ I purchased these from Superdrug last month while on offer for £1.59 , reduced from the full price of £3.05. I always use wipes for removing make up and usually just pick up what is on offer or the shops own brand. These caught my eye as not only were they on offer, but they are from Nivea which is a brand i'm familiar with and have used before , and also the claim they gently cleanse and moisturise the skin as well. ~*~ What Do You Get ~*~ The wipes come in packs of 25 , and come in a packet similar to wet wipes but smaller . There is a pull back label opening that reseals to stop the wipes from drying out. The wipes are suitable for dry and sensitive skin. Gently cleanses and moisturises the skin , removes make-up and waterproof mascara. Suitable for sensitive eyes, with natural Almond Oil and Hydra IQ . To use gently cleanse face, neck and eye area with the soft wipe keeping eyes closed. Reseal after use and do not flush away. ~*~ In Use ~*~ The wipes are come out of the packet nice and easy and come out 1 at a time like they should. They are a good size of approx 19 cm square and have a lovely soft texture. They are very strong , I have long nails and have never broke through one by accident and for the purpose of the review I just tried to rip the wipe with my nail and well it doesn't, it just stretches over it . The wipes have a very subtle fragrance and they just smell clean rather than smelling like chemicals or having a floral scent. The wipes have lasted well in the packaging and haven't dried out in between uses, and the resealable label is still sticky enough to close. ~*~ Removing Make-Up ~*~ As a make-up remover they do a fantastic job , they are strong enough to last for you to wipe the whole of your face and neck , so you do only need 1 each time. They are lovely and soft, they feel very gentle on the skin and there is no need for vigorous rubbing all you need to do is simply wipe. Yet they are thick enough to be able to use both sides. These wipes have made me realize what a great job the foundation I am using is doing . I normally apply my make up at 8 in the morning , before I get in the bath in the evening around 9 o' clock I use this to take off my make-up , despite not putting my foundation on like a beauty counter assistant the amount of make-up, especially foundation the wipe took off was pleasantly surprising , in both how well my foundation had lasted and how well the wipe had removed it all . ~*~ Cleansing and Moisturising ~*~ For cleansing the skin they do a great job , you skin feels fresh and clean and doesn't feel tight or irritated. I have had no reactions to my skin and they have not caused anymore spots than normal. The moisturising isn't bad for a wipe , your face is left feeling soft and smooth and certainly doesn't feel dry or taut . I do still use of blob of moisturiser after my bath , mainly because this is my routine but I think you could go without it and your skin would not suffer. ~*~ Thoughts ~*~ I was really pleased with the wipes and the fact I picked up 2 packs as I will be disappointed when they run out and would definitely buy them again , but I will wait till when they are offer as at £3 a pack for only 25 the cost of using them everyday would soon mount up. [ around £44 a year ] And you can buy wipes from as little as 50p that do an okay job. So I will knock off a star for the price but the quality of the wipe is excellent . 4 out of 5 Ingredients = Aqua, Isopropyl Stearate, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Methylpropanediol, Glyceryl Glucoside, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Sodium Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Limonene, Linalool, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Parfum.
~*~*~ What is it? ~*~*~ These are cleansing face wipes by Nivea. They are used to remove make-up, and to cleanse and moisturise skin. They are alcohol free and contain almond oil and hydra IQ. The packet contains 25 wipes and the wipes come in a white, rectangular packet, with a self-adhesive closing tab to keep the wipes moist. To use, you simply remove the wipe from the packet and wipe over your face and neck. Always make sure you close the tab on the packet to prevent the wipes from drying out. ~*~*~ Price and availability ~*~*~ You can purchase these wipes from Boots for £2.99 and they are currently on a 3 for 2 offer. You can also purchase these wipes in Superdrug and most supermarkets. I purchased my wipes a few weeks ago from Sainsburys and they were on a half price offer. ~*~*~ Why I purchased these wipes ~*~*~ When it comes to wipes I normally purchase which ever ones are on offer. I also went for this wipes as they were for dry and sensitive skin, which I thought would be more kind to my skin. I use these wipes to remove my make-up in the evening and to freshen-up my face in the morning. I quite often buy supermarket own brand baby wipes to remove my make up, but as these were on offer I thought I would give them a go. ~*~*~ My thoughts ~*~*~ I really like Nivea skin care products as I feel they are really good quality. They are also usually on offer, so they are affordable as well. Like most wipes these are white, square-shaped and moist. There is a slight fragrance to them, which is not very over powering, and leaves a fresh smelling scent on my face. I don't like wipes that have a strong frangrance as I find them to irritate my skin and eyes. I think the moistness of these wipes are just right, they are not soaking wet but they are wet enough to remove make-up with ease, without having to tug at my skin. When I use this wipes on my eyes they are extremely gently and do not leave my eyes sore. These wipes are also great for removing water-proof mascara, without pulling all my eye lashes out. Once I have used the wipe, my face feels soft and smooth. It also feels incredibly refreshing and hydrated. The wipes do leave a slight residue on my face but this dries within seconds. The most shocking thing about using wipes is the colour they are once I have used one. The problem I find with a lot of wipes is that they dry out extremely quickly, usually because the self-adhesive, sticky tab normally fails quite quickly. These wipes have never dried up, and I have purchased them a number of times. The tab stays closed once a little amount of pressure is applied which allows the wipes to stay moist. ~*~*~ Would I recommend ~*~*~ Yes I would recommend these wipes, especially if they are on offer. They are not the best wipes I have ever used but they do exactly what I want them to do. They remove my make up with ease, stay moist and leave my face feeling fresh and clean. I am going to give these wipes 4 out of 5 Dooyoo stars. Thanks for taking the time to read my review :)
I go through quite a few facial cleansing wipes as I use them every morning and every evening. I'm not really brand loyal and tend to opt for supermarket brands more than more expensive ones. However, I do get the urge to try more expensive wipes every now and then including these Nivea wipes. The Nivea Visage gentle facial wipes are widely available to purchase from supermarkets and places such as Boots and Superdrug. The going price for a packet for these wipes is around £2. The packaging is quite typical of the Nivea range being mainly neutral in colour with the normal product information found on the front and back of the packet. On top of the packet there is a pull back seal which, when pulled back, reveals a small hole to pull the wipes out. This sticky seal works really well and keeps the wipes inside moist until you need to use them, no matter how many times you pull it back and stick it down again, it always sticks to keep the wipes fresh. The wipes themselves look exactly like you would imagine being white in colour, as you pull them out of the hole they seem to be quite stretchy but despite this, they don't rip at all. These wipes are definitely the moistest I have used in a long while, whilst they are not dripping wet, they still have a very wet feeling to them. The wipes are alcohol free and being described as gentle wipes I didn't think there would be much of a scent to them and I was right, there is a small hint of a floral smell but nothing overpowering. I use these wipes to refresh my face in the morning before doing my skin care routine and again at night to remove my makeup. It serves both of these purposes well. As the wipes are really moist, I did find them leaving residue on my face and have to wipe it with a towel after using them as my face was left quite wet. When it comes to removing makeup and stubborn eye makeup it deals with this use really well too. I find it removes all of my makeup, even waterproof mascara, without any problems, but again it leaves my face quite wet. After using the wipes I do feel like my skin is clean and soft and the wipes are as described as being gentle. I don't think these Nivea Visage gentle facial wipes are any better than supermarkets own brand facial wipes so I won't go out of my way to buy these again. They are far too moist for my liking but do clean skin, remove makeup and leave my face feeling soft.
When I travel anywhere I tend to take the easy option and take a packet of face wipes for removing make up as well as generally freshening up. Recently due to work I have been in parts of the country which have required a stop over especially if seminars are on the next day. Currently my face wipes that I tend to buy are for sensitive skin as currently due to the cold weather my skin is suffering. My current wipes which I have been using on and off over the last month and currently using while staying at my parents house for Christmas are the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes. I bought them whilst on offer in my local Morrisons a month or two ago as I am always keen to find products which don't aggrivate my skin which can be temperamental enough! == The Wipes == The NIVEA® Daily Essentials Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes have been specifically formulated for those who suffer with dry or sensitive skin so ideal for me at the present time! They have been enriched with natural almond oil as well as Hydra IQ. Almond oil is of course known for it's mildness and therefore ideal for those with dry and/or sensitive skin. The wipes are formulated to easily remove make up including waterproof mascara whilst gently cleansing the skin whilst keeping your moisturised and cared for. The idea is also that these wipes keep the skin hydrated and therefore looking at its best. == Packaging == The wipes do come in a very simple packet in terms of colour the packet is white with a hint of blue from the Nivea logo together with a touch of pink to represent the range they come from as each skin type the wipes are for come with a different colour. The packet has a clear, sticky re-sealable tab for ease of getting the wipes out. The packaging is no different to that of other facial wipes and is pretty standard. == In Use == The wipes themselves really look no different to any other decent facial wipe. They are white in colour and are square in shape. They have a decent thickness to them which I do prefer in a facial wipe as I find them much more better quality as well as being able to get rid of make up easier. They have a woven type texture to them almost having a quilted effect which is nice. They do have a lovely creamy touch to them but in a damp way rather than being too wet which is nice. I like the fact that they do feel creamy to the touch as in the hope that the almond oil is obviously there in the wipe. They also have quite a soft almost nutty aroma to the wipes which is lovely although quite subtle you can smell it more when you are using the wipes. The wipes I find easily remove foundation, powder, eyeshadows (liquid or powder types) without any problems whatsoever which is great. However, they do have a bit of trouble removing my mascara which isn't waterproof and I do have to go over the lashes several times and even then I can be left with mascara on some of the lashes. Bit of a pain considering I don't take an eye make up remover with me as I rely on the wipes to rid my face of all make up. My skin however is not irritated by these wipes whatsoever and I find that once my make up is removed my skin does feel soft and nourished and I think that is down to the almond oil in the wipes. It really is cared for which is what I am wanting, they definitely do not dry my skin out any more and I do think they must help at least keep my skin hydrated. == Overall == I really do like these wipes in terms of the thickness and fragrance as I find them quite different to other wipes I have used which are specifically for dry and/or sensitive skin. However, they do have a problem getting through normal mascara which is a shame. But on the whole they do care for my skin and therefore I can give them 4 stars and I would buy them again if on offer. == Product Information == Brand: Nivea Price: £2.99 Size: 25 wipes per pack
These come in packets of 25, which seems to last me a long time (obviously one month if I use one day approx). They are reasonable for price having recently been reduced to an average of £2 in supermarkets/healthcare stores (Boots etc) (which is why I started to buy them) When you get them out of the packet they're about 6'' square give or take a little bit. They're moistened and scented very slightly (it's not overpowering, so it has never affected my sensitive skin - this would seem obvious because of the sensitive skin friendly label on the packet, but I have had some before that LIED! These however, are perfect). I primarily use these for removing makeup and cleansing my face at the end of the day - they do an absolutely perfect job for this. Makeup seems to just slide off my face which saves time and effort and leaves my face feeling soft and clean which is all you want really from a product of this type. It even works well on my eye makeup and it does not leave my eyes sore after wards which has happened when I've been using similar products from other brands. I would definitely recommend this as a makeup remover or even just as a facial cleanser as it has definitely improved the quality of my skin and removes my makeup beautifully.
I never normally wear makeup however recently I have started to wear a BB cream. Previously at the end of the day I would just wash with a face wash and moisturise before bed. However I have noticed that after wearing a BB cream and washing with a face wash and water I was still ending up with residue on my towel. I started using my daughters wet wipes but found that even though they were for sensitive skin they were drying out my skin which on my face is very sensitive. I was in Sainsbury's last friday and I saw these wipes were half price. I haven't used facial wipes for a long time so picked a brand I trust and went for the sensitive option in the range. The wipes come in a pink plastic packet with a resealable tab to keep the wipes moist when not in use. There are 24 wipes in a packet. The wipes are designed to cleanse, tone and moisturise in one easy step. The wipes contain almond oil and calendula extract which are designed to cleanse sensitive skin gently without drying it out and also moisturising skin. They are suitable for use around the eye area and will remove all makeup including waterproof mascara. To use the wipes you simply remove one from the packet close your eyes and gently cleanse the eye area, face and neck. The wipes when removed from the packet are a good size. They are large enough to cleanse your whole face and remove all traces of makeup. The wipes are made of a soft material which feels smooth on the skin. The wipes smell really nice and fresh. I haven't tested their ability to remove waterproof mascara but they do a good job of removing makeup and dirt. After using these wipes my skin felt soft and smooth. Sometimes when I have used wipes in the past my skin has felt tight and sore. However after using these Nivea wipes my skin was soft and I only needed a small amount of moisturiser. I only use one a day so they are good value for me as they will last me almost a month. I would recommend these wipes. They are perfect for cleansing quickly and great for travel.
I have really dry and sensitive skin and struggle to find products that I can use. Some sensitive skin products are still too strong for my skin so I need really weak ones but that are strong enough to take make up off. After trying a variety of wipes I found the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials for dry and sensitive skin. I bought these wipes for £1.51 from Superdrug when they were in the sale. There are 25 wipes in a pack and as I only use two a day they last me quite a while. I use one every morning to clean my face and one every night to remove all of my make up. They come in a white plastic packet with all the information you need and you can see all the ingredients that are in them to make sure you can use them. There is a re-usable sticky lid on the top of the packet. After a few days of opening and re-sticking the lid, it starts to lose its stick. After about a week the lid doesn't stick and the top wipe is dryer than the rest and doesn't take make up off very well. The trick I use is to leave the packet upside down when I've finished using them as it keeps the lid shut and the wipes stay wet. Each wipe is thin, very soft and strong. I've had some wipes before that start to fray and leave fibres on your face after you've used them. They are just wet enough to take off any make up and cleanse your face. They're not as wet as some wipes because they are moisturising wipes so after you have used them you feel like you've just moisturised your face. They have a really nice smell and leave your skin feeling really smooth and soft and smelling fresh. I have found that these wipes are easily my favourite out of all the wipes I have tried because they take my make up off easily including water proof mascara and they don't irritate my eyes. I will definitely be sticking with these wipes from now on, they do everything I need them to do and I can use my beauty card in Superdrug every time I buy them.
Whilst shopping in town the other day, I came across these Nivea Daily Essentials Cleansing Wipes. I am always on the look out for new things to try that are specifically for people with sensitive skin. Nivea is a brand that I love as their Nivea Soft moisturising cream is the only one that I have found that works on my sensitive, often dry skin. The packaging states that the wipes "gently cleanses, tones and hydrates. Removes make-up and waterproof mascara and is suitable for sensitive eyes". Im not quite sure why they would need to be suitable for sensitive eyes, other than to remove mascara, but they are also alcohol free and contain natural almond oil and calendula extract. These wipes were on offer in Wilkinsons at £1 for 20 wipes, which I belive is excellent value for such a reputable brand. These wipes are easily available in other stores too such as Boots and Superdrug, and you get points there too! There are also a wide variety of other facial wipes in the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials range, so there is something for everyone. The packaging is very similar to other brands of facial wipes, but I like that the type of skin they are for e.g. dry and sensitive, is highlighted in a dark pink, making them attractive and easy to spot. There is alos a pretty pink flower on the packaging that ties in with the pink highlighting the skin type. I usually use these wipes to remove my make up and cleanse my skin at the end of the day, but they are suitable for use both in the morning to cleanse the skin and then again in the night. The wipes are very soft and smooth, making them much more enjoyable to use. They smell similar to baby powder and after using one, I can feel a difference in my skin. In order to maximise the hydrating effect of the wipes I always put my moisturising cream on afterwards, but if your skin is usually okay, then you could skip this step and still have fantasticly smooth skin. I have never had any problems removing my make up with these wipes, which is fantastic as often if you use wipes that claim to remove make up, you can go to bed at night and wake up with panda eyes from not fully removing your mascara properly. This makes life just a little easier, which is what we all need. Overall, I am very happy with this product and I will happily buy them again, even if they are not on special offer. They suit my skin type and remove my make up easily.
Its typical isn't it, that a face wipe you like goes off an offer and when it goes up to double the price it means you then have to find another, and you never get one like your favourite. So when my favourite Simple face wipes went back up to almost four pound a packet I decided that I needed something a bit cheaper, and it happened that my fail safe packet was on offer for 2 pounds a packet. ~*~ What kind of facewipes are they? ~*~ Nivea Visage claim these wipes are gentle facial cleansing wipes, that are meant to gently cleanse, tones and hydrates skin. They claim to remove make up and waterproof mascara; with no alcohol and natural almond oil and calendula extract they are meant to be good for your skin. ~*~ Are they much good? ~*~ When it comes to removing make up they are probably the best wipe I've ever used; when I've not been bothered to get the eye make-up remover out and do it properly. They really will take off as much make up as you want it to get rid of, for example if you've just misplaced a bit of eyeshadow, take a corner of the wipe and get rid of the bit you didn't want - it will work brilliantly. Then when it comes to getting rid of some seriously caked on make up after a night out or a full day at work, you might have to scrub at it a bit harder, but it's not that much of a hard work face wipe. The only problem is if you are properly scrubbing at it, and have longer than average nails - you may well put your nail through them. Not saying you definitely would, but pulling at them a bit harder than normal stretches them quite thin, so don't just yank them out of the packet if you can help it. Though in other packets of wipes I've ended up with five or six at the same time, but these are quite well packed so that you don't need to worry about using half your packet in one go - saving money there wooohoo! These wipes are really quite kind to skin, because they're not exfoliating you won't feel like you've taken off half your face when you've used them. But at the same time, you don't feel totally like you've cleansed your face if you don't give it a good scrub. So if you're just using them on those lazy days you can't be bothered to go to the sink to wash your face you'll be ok, but they miss a vital aspect to giving a fresh cleansed feel. Give them their dues though I can use them and my skin looks much healthier than it did a minute before, in combination with a good moisturiser you can get really clean feeling skin, but it does take a bit of effort with the wipe. I've not yet managed to make my eyes sore from this face wipe, so I would definitely say it is kind on your eyes as well as the rest of your skin. It's not a wipe that will give you tight skin after use which is really good, because I have come across that with some other wipes. Another thing, you don't immediately feel like you need to moisturise after them either, because some wipes suck all the moisture out of your skin, but I think these add to it rather than detract from it. So they are definitely calming and cleansing on your skin, won't give you the same feeling as an exfoliating wipe, but definitely worth buying if your favourite is off offer, I've not had any new breakouts since I started using them either! Trust the brand they are really good, and live up to their claims. ~*~ Price and Availability ~*~ I got mine from tesco for £2 but I think they may have gone back to full price for now, but they are currently £2.99 in Boots, and superdrug don't do this exact packet but there are two similar for only £1.52 at the moment, but also remember to check supermarkets they normally have good offers!
