Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream
Advantages: Soaks into skin in a couple of minutes.
Nivea products have been around for many years, I just love Nivea because I find most of them suitable for my skin. My daughter had bought this one and didn't find it suitable and so instead of throwing it away in the bin she asked me if I would like it, so I jumped at the chance because I had not tried this one before.
It comes in a tube which is inside a cardboard box. The tube has a screw off top. This one is designed for oily to combination skin. I have a sensitive and dry skin but thought this one was still worth a try since it was a freebie for a change. It is also a day cream and so I used this one in the mornings and have done for the past month or so. I found it has been quite a nice one for my skin, especially because I have dry skin. I thought it would be too heavy and make me break out in spots etc but my skin has been perfectly fine.
It is a cream that is designed to not give a shine on the skin after applying it. I did find it gave no shine or even a sheer on my skin after it had fully absorbed into my skin. I used only a small amount when I first tried it because I didn't want to overload my face with cream. I found that this small amount was well enough to cover my skin and the amount I applied was just a pea size amount dotted over my cheek area, chin, nose and forehead. It does absorb well into the skin, I thought it would probably take a while longer to soak into the skin because it is for oily skin but I was pleasantly surprised it only took a couple of minutes.
It is a light moisturiser and not too heavy on the skin as I first expected it to be. I think this one is a really nice base moisturiser to use before applying make up. It has a cooling effect on the skin and isn't too greasy as you may imagine it to be. It is best to apply it at least 30 minutes or so onto the skin if applying make up after applying it. This amount of time is enough for it to soak into the skin completely.
It has a slight lemon fragrance but not one that is very strong in my opinion, it is just a nice fresh smell and quite pleasant. This fresh smell feels cooling on the skin and feels really nice. It contains Lemon grass and Rice Extract, these ingredients work well for my skin. I like the fact that it also contains SPF 8 and extra UVA filters to help the skin from premature aging. So I know I at least have a protection on my skin while using this one.
I have found it hasn't clogged my pores and just left it soft to the touch and really smooth. It is one that I would probably buy myself in the future, even though I have dry skin I have found it really suitable for my skin and it has not irritated my skin at all like I thought it would. I would never have probably tried this moisturiser had it not been a freebie but I am happy with the results it has had for my kind of skin.
I am of my mature years and my skin is in a good condition for my age because I take really good care to always do my daily routine, if this one wasn't suitable for my skin I would never have continued to use more of the product for as long as I have. I don't think it has made my skin drier or even more moisturised to be totally honest. It has just left it in the same condition as before using it. I really thought it would probably make my skin more oily but it has just remained the same. Quite a surprising result in all honesty. I do like the fact it is a nice lightweight one and suitable for using before applying make up.
I think this one is more suitable for younger people to use, especially people under the age of 30 years old or so. Like I said earlier in my review I am of my mature years and do need a little extra help because my skin is becoming much thinner but for a young woman, I think this one would be very suitable.
Nivea rarely ever let me down with their products, they really take care producing them and this one is another nice product to add to the nice product list in my opinion.
The quality is really good and it is priced around £4 for 50ml.
I give this one 4 stars.
