Nivea Visage Refreshing Toner

I have no loyalty to any particular skin care brands but tend to pick up ivea products when I need them as they usually suit my skin.

**The Promises...**

This toner promises to give normal and combination skin effective moisturisation during cleansing. It apparently keeps the skins natural moisture balance supple all day, and has (so the information tells me) been especially developed by Nivea Laboratories to meet the specific cleansing needs of normal and combination skin.

**How does it do this?...**

The toner is enriched with Lotus Extract and Vitamins which will help to keep skin hydrated, whilst dirt and residues are removed. My skin will be refreshed, clarified and invigorated.

All well and good if the claims are true!

**Product and Packaging...**

The plastic bottle is quite simple, and the usual Nivea predominantly blue colour. Even the toner, when looked at through the bottle, appears to be blue, but when applied to cotton wool thankfully comes out clear. The bottle has a flip up, press down to close lid and the toner is dispensed through a hole in the bottle. The toner has a very very slight smell, nothing which is discernibly the smell of anything I recognise but if I were to describe it, then it is more medicinal than floral.

**How to use the toner...**

It is recommended that the toner is used morning and night after cleansing and before applying moisturiser. I apply it using cotton wool and ensure I avoid my eye area in case it stings.

**Price and Availability...**

The toner costs about £4 for a 200ml bottle, and is widely available in chemists and supermarkets. Because it lasts ages, it is very good value for money as just a couple of squirts onto cotton wool seems to do the trick

**Verdict...**

The toner is reasonably priced and easy to use- I simply sweep the wet cotton wool pad over my skin. This manages to clean my skin quite thoroughly and all traces of dirt missed during the cleansing are removed. It is also very gentle on my skin and although I can feel my pores tightening slightly, there is no stinging sensation.

For anyone who likes to add toning to their skin care regime I would recommend this
