Right so I got a pack of these in their recent giveaway and I thought I might as well review them for you guys.
What they say
To cleanse, tone and invigorate in one easy step and to remove make-up and waterproof mascara for a fresh skin feeling.
About The Product
These wipes are free from alchohol, perfume, colour and oil. They contain vitamin E and provitamin B5. The wipe leaves your skin feeling fresh and revitalised. Thy cost £3.29 in most stores like Tesco, Boots, Superdrug and Asda so they cost about 14 p each.
What I think ?
They are packaged nicely and are very easy to use and get out. As long as you do not leave the packet open they will not dry up. They don't have a scent really as they state but they smell clean if you know what I mean. From the point of view of someone who uses a fair bit of make-up, they really do work effectively. They clean your face from dirt and the trickiest of make-up to remove.
Would I reccomend
Yes I really would, they may be a tad expensive but they do everything they state on the packet and for me if they do what they promise that is good enough.
FACIAL CLEANSING WIPES
I do not normally buy Facial Wipes but I saw these in Tesco the other night and thought I would give them a try. They are on offer for £1.49 at the moment instead of £2.99 so it seemed a good time to try them.
The wipes I got are Nivea Visage Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes, they are for dry and sensitive skin.
They come in a pink plastic pack with a resalable opening,
On the front are the words
Nivea Visage Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes
Cleanse, soothe and hydrate in one easy step
Removes make up and waterproof mascara for a soft skin feeling
With almond and calendula oil.
For dry and sensitive skin.
On the back there is a list of ingredients and instructions how to use them.
As the wipes are alcohol free I did not think I would have any problems using them.
When I opened the pack they smelt lovely, just like the Nivea fragrance you would expect, very gentle. The actual wipes themselves are a good size and thicker than I was expecting.
They did an excellent job of removing my make up, including the waterproof mascara, always tricky I find. The wipes were also nice and wet. I found 1 wipe wasn't quite enough but I thought 2 would be wasteful so i cut it in half and found 1 1/2 to be just right.
I did find that although the wipes are alcohol free and are supposed to be gentle and for sensitive skin they made my eyes sting. In fact my eyes still feel a bit sore today. My skin however was left feeling soft and not at all " dried out".
The packet reseals nicely unlike some other resealable packets which tend to loose their stickiness over time. You get 25 wipes per pack making they economical and very good value for money.
I was pleased with how the wipes took the make up off but disappointed that they were not sensitive enough for me. I'm glad I didn't pay full price!
Half price at the moment
Nice and wet
Removes the make up very well
Not as good for sensitive eyes as I had hoped.
I'm a great fan of facial wipes and have been using them for several years!
I know that it is said that they don't clean your face as well as cleanser and toner, but for quickness they do a great job. I wear a small amount of make-up and don't have it caked on, so it is fairly easy to remove. I like to try different types and have used Garnier, Simple and Johnsons in the past, being that these were on special in Tesco's I thought I would give these a go! ( 2 packs for £5).
I went for the dry and sensitive skin ones which come in a pink package. It contains 25 wipes. It says that it will cleanse, soothe and hydrate in one easy step. It also claims to remove waterproof mascara (which is good as
this is what I usually wear!). Well here goes to, on opening the front
of the packet you get a lovely scent which smells really fresh and clean
(it reminds me of a babies talc!). It is very moist and I can feel my skin is getting really clean. It also feels very soft, I can't believe how much gunk
there is on the wipe! It did struggle to get all my mascara off though, I had to use another wipe!
All in all it did do a good job and my skin was really soft and clean ready for my night cream. I will buy these again and found it quite interesting when I went onto their website. I didn't realise that they did so many different creams for different age groups. They do a Young Care Range which is for 16-25 year olds, which I think is great for getting young people to start
taking care of their skin especially in this day and age with all the pollutions around and harmful sun rays!
Next there is the Radiance Boosting Range, which are products with Mango Milk and Cashmere Proteins in them to give you a natural-looking finish. There is also an Invigorating Range which has Magnesium, Ginseng and Cucumber Extracts. These help overcome tiredness and hydrate your skin.
The next group are what I'm interested in as this is the Anti-Age groups.
Starting from 30+ there are the Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle System. This has something called Coenzyme Q10 in it which supports the skins energy metabolism so helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. From 40+ they have the DNAGE Cell Renewal System this has Folic Acid and Creatine which helps increase surface skin cell renewal, making it look firmer! And lastly there
is the From 50+ range Expert Lift Range which has Hyaluronic Acid and
Bloxlift this is a 100% natural extract from the Anise plant which plumps up and smooths your skin ( they say within an hour of using I'll have to give this one a go!!).
So all this information from just buying a packet of wipes, I will be looking into buying some more of their products. When visiting their website, you can join up with your e-mail address and they will send you a free sample. I got mine today, it consists of two sachets one is a light moisturising day cream and the other one is a refreshing facial wash gel, so I will be giving them a go later. I was really pleased when I noticed that they had also enclosed a £1 voucher off any of the Visage Range which I will go and use tomorrow! (Maybe some more wipes!)
The website is; www.Nivea.co.uk
I bought a packet of the Nivea Visage Soft Facial Cleansing Wipes for sensitive skin, these are the version in the pink packet and contain no alcohol so I figured they would suit my skin. Usually I use the Boots own brand ones but I was in a rush and spotted these on offer for around the same price so I thought I would give them a go.
Overall they are a bit of a mixed bag in my opinion. The good points are that they smell pleasent and I can definitely tell by the odour of them that they do not contain harsh ingredients such as the alcohol which I know dries out my already dry-prone skin. The smell is vaguely floral, almost like a mild rose scent but not overly strong.
After use I do think they leave my skin quite soft which is nice and there are no dry patches on my cheeks which is a good sign.
They do seem to work at removing most makeup although I seem to find that they do struggle with mascara and it takes a lot of rubbing to get this off, I guess this may be the downside of having no alcohol in them, in fact this past weekend I had to use a second wipe to get off some particularly stubborn mascara and noticed a couple of eyelashes on the wipe by the time I had finished, definitely not a good sign!
My main problem with these wipes though is that they seem to have almost completely dried out despite me dilligently resealing the packet after every use, I think the sticky re-seal tab is just not up to the job and so it lets air in. Every time I pull a wipe out now I notice that it doesnt feel fresh and damp like a wipe should do but dryer and not so fresh. This is probably another reason why I am now needing two wipes to get my mascara off!
Overall I don't think this product is particularly good value for money, I would have been annoyed if I had paid the usual £3.79 price tag for them just for the Nivea brand name. In my opinion the boots own ones (around £1.99) do a much better job and are better packaged, I certainly won't be buying these again once I have run out.
Yes, they do smell nice and they do the job and leave my skin feeling soft but the packaging is not sufficient to keep them fresh and damp and you therefore need to use more to get stubborn make up off which, to my mind, is a false economy.
This review focusses on Nivea Visage Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes for dry and sensitive skin.
I am a nivea fan all round, and these wipes form a daily part of my skin routine. They come in a pack of 25 and cost around £3.75. Boots often have these on a buy one get one free offer so it's good to stock up when they do. The pack is re-sealable, much like a baby wipe pack. I use 2 every day, one in the morning and one in the evening so a pack lasts me around 12 days or so.
I know some people wouldn't use these every day, they probably use cleanser from a bottle and would only use wipes for holidays or when out and about. I have used both, and I see no reason to use bottled cleanser, these wipes are adequate. I know they may not be as economical, but what they lose in economy they more than make up for in convenience.
The wipes remove all traces of make up, including waterprooof mascara and they soothe and hydrate your skin at the same time. They contain almond oil and calendula oil. The wipes themselves are very soft, and feel moisturising to touch. They have a very gentle fragrance, not unlike the nivea creme of old in the blue metal tins. I am not a fan of fragrance in products, and this doesn't bother me at all. The wipes are alcohol free and are dernatologically and opthalmologically approved.
I've tried other cleansing wipes, but found them all to be too harsh and drying for my dry and sensitive skin. These wipes have no adverse affects and they do the job perfectly.
Generally I am not a big fan of wipes as in the past I have found they don't work all that well. My mum gave me a packet of Nivea Visage Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes having bought them on a two for one offer and because I was useless at removing my make-up before I go to bed. I like Nivea as a brand so I thought I would give them a chance.
To cleanse, tone and invigorate in one easy step and to remove make-up and waterproof mascara for a fresh skin feeling.
*About the Product*
These wipes are alcohol free and contain Lotus extract and vitamins. By using these wipes, your skin gets the effective moisturisation needed for normal or combination skin. They cleanse your face, eye area and neck, leaving them removed from dirt and make-up. The wipe leaves your skin feeling fresh and revitalised.
In the packet are 25 6 square inch wipes. I tend to buy a pack in advance now so that I never run out because on the occasion that I did, my skin felt awful.
You remove a wipe from the bag and softly clean your face and neck. I pay particular attention to my eyes as the mascara I use can be a bit of a nightmare to remove. Fortunately, in these wipes I have finally found something that gets rid of it at the end of the day. They are extremely easy to use and you don't need to rub the wipes too firmly in order to see results.
*Price and Availability*
Nivea Visage Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes sold at £3.29 and are available from stores such as Tesco, Boots, Superdrug and Asda. These are fairly expensive but when bought on offer seem well priced and I find that they are so frequently on offer that I rarely pay the full price for them. They are rarely sold out, so you don't need to worry about where you will get your next bag.
The Packaging: The wipes are in a sky blue coloured plastic packet. On the front of this is a small tab that is pulled back in order for you to take out a wipe and reseal. They are very easy to remove from the bag and found that the packaging was more than adequate.
The Smell: They do not have a strong scent but leave your skin with a fresh, clean smell. They actually smell like the wipes that children use when they've got grubby hands.
The feel: The wipe is a soft fleece and is significantly thicker and better quality than most I have used previously. They are very soft and smooth to use.
From the point of view of someone who uses a fair bit of make-up, they really do work effectively. They clean your face from dirt and the trickiest of make-up to remove. Due to the fact that they are so straightforward to use, I would recommend them to even the laziest of people (like me). They will soon become part of your everyday routine, trust me. I now don't have the problems that I have had in the past with spots so I can honestly say I love this product.
For me the only slight disadvantage is that if you do not reseal the tab properly, the wipes dry out quite quickly. This is however stated on the bag so hopefully you shouldn't make that mistake.
Also, I suggest that you make sure that you do not flush these down the toilet and throw them in the bin instead as they can block up the toilet if you flush too many.
*Would I Recommend This Product?*
I would unquestionably suggest these wipes to any of my friends as they fulfil their promises on the packet. They are by far the best of their type that I have come across to date.
These wipes are now part of my daily facial care routine and I rarely go to bed without having used them. They are especially practical to take on holiday or whilst not at home as you don't have to worry about bottles leaking on your other belongings.
I bought two packets of Nivea Visage Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes because I could not find my usual wipes in the supermarket.
I was attracted to them initially because Nivea is a well known brand and they had minature tubes of moisturising cream attached to them which was a bonus.
I also buy many Nivea products so therefore I thought that their cleansing wipes would be a good buy.
There are 25 wipes in a packet and they are for Normal and Combination Skin Types. They are meant to Cleanse, Tone and Invigorate in one easy step, and remove make-up and waterproof mascara for a fresh skin feeling. They are alcohol free with Lotus Extract and Vitamins.
It states on the pack, that they cleanse your face, eye area and neck while respecting your skin's natural balance. It also says that the soft fleece with its refreshing formula invigorates your skin.
In all, your skin is supposed to be thoroughly cleansed from dirt, mak-up ,waterproof mascara and left feeling refreshed.
However, I found out that these facial wipes were not for me. Although they were a good size, thick and they smelled nice and fresh they did not cleanse tone and invigorate in one easy step. They did cleanse after many attempts at taking off waterproof mascara but I had to drag the wipes numerous times across my eyes (I had to use a few).
I had to take the rest of my make-up off with a few wipes therefore not in one easy step as promised.
In all, I have dry skin and instead of the wipes toning and moisturising my face, eye area and neck these wipes in my opinion did not. My skin felt dry, raw scratchy and rough. There was no moisture or even oil or lubrication on my skin and in my opinion these wipes did not respect my skin's natural moisture balance as stated.
In summing up, once the wipes packet is opened, it is very hard to close it and keep it closed because it continues to open up, therefore drying up the tissues.
I continually had to use a weight to keep the packet closed. I would not buy these wipes again because I do not think that they suit my skin type.
I receive some face wipes for christmas every year for some reason and this year was no different. I had never used the Nivea Visage wipes before and was looking forward to trying them. To be honest, I'm not very good with taking make up off before I go to bed (maybe that's why I always get face wipes at christmas) because I can never be bothered! However, when you just have to do a quick wipe with one of these, it makes it so much easier so I definitely think they are a handy product to have in the bathroom cupboard.
I don't wear make up very much and when I do, it's usually because I'm going out somewhere so I wear quite a bit of heavy eye make up, including waterproof mascara. I wasn't sure how the wipes would deal with this, as often I just end up with black smears all over my face but to my surprise, these wipes just took it all straight off. I didn't have to scrub it over my make up over and over again to get it off, it literally was just a quick wipe movement.
The wipes smell very nice, they are lightly scented but avoid the baby wipe kind of smell which you often get. They smell fresh and they certainly leave your skin feeling fresh and clean. They also "tone" your skin although to be honest I never really understood what that means so I won't comment on whether they do it or not! All I know is that after using them, my face feels clean, plumped up, fresh and soft.
The packaging is light blue in colour with a resealable flap where you pull the wipes out from. You get 20 wipes in each packet so if you just used them to remove make up at night, they would last a while (especially if you don't wear make up much). I would recommend these to anyone who is a bit lazy when it comes to the whole "skin routine" thing as they make life so easy!
Nivea is one of the leading brands in skin care, and after buying my first waterproof mascara I had to try out the Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes form Nivea Visage because they claimed to remove even waterproof makeup.
I bought a multi pack - 2 individual packets for £3.49 from Morrisions. Each pack contains 20 wipes which are used once. (Disposable)
They claim to cleanse, tone and invigorate, and are recommended for normal and combination skin. The directions for use are called "Beauty Advice" and state: Oull out one wipe and wipe it over face, eye area and neck. Carefully reseal the bag after use with the self adhesive label to prevent drying out. After, dispose of in a bin - do not flush.
They are meant to refresh your skin without leaving a greasy residue, but I found that they left my skin feeling oily and quite raw. I do not have sensitive skin but although my skin felt softer, it looked redder and oilier. The wipes did not take off all of my makeup either, and I would have to really scrub at my delicate eye area before I saw any results. They do have a nice smell, but this isn't very long lasting. And they dry out quite quickly as the label fails to function.
I would say they are best for people with dry skin that is not sensitive. They are, in my opinion, a moisturiser on a cloth, and because of this, they broke me out :(
They do not seem to cleanse or tone, only moisturise.
These facial wipes remove make-up, cleanse tone and invigorate in one step. They are quick and easy to use. They are good for sensitive skin and refresh your skin without leaving a greasy residue. They smell nice and are not overpowering. They feel soft and smooth and radiant. They help to get rid of spots. They can be used on your neck, face and around your eyes. I would recommend this to anyone, any age and any skin type. They are a value for money!!
After experimenting with various cleansing techniques and products, I finally found cleansing wipes last year and stumbled upon Nivea cleansing wipes a couple of weeks ago when I was looking for cleansing wipes in my local supermarket, (Boots has a much better range!). I wanted cleansing wipes that were reasonably priced and did what they said they would on the package, (In Nivea’s case this was cleanse and leave the skin looking great and feeling smooth). I am happy to say that they worked. The wipes come in packs of thirty so will last a month and are really easy to use compared to my old routine, cleanse, toning them moisturising. With previous wipes that I have used, I felt that I needed to moisturise after I had used them, but with Nivea, this is not the case. The wipes leave my skin feeling very clean, and it looks and feels great at the moment. They are also fantastic to use in the summer whilst it is hot as they really refresh your face! They remove all makeup, including lipstick and waterproof mascara and are really quick to use. The only downside that I found with this product is that when I remove my eye makeup with the wipes my eyes do water a bit. However I do know that I have sensitive eyes, and the wipes really don’t cause that much of a problem. The wipes are to be found in pharmacists such as Boots and Superdrug, and in supermarkets. They are priced at around £3.00 to £3.50 and are very good value for money. I would recommend them for anyone who wants a quick and easy way to remove makeup, and wants great looking and feeling skin!
I was very keen on the ease and quickness of cleansing wipes so set out trying all sorts of different brands. Some being premium products while others were discount or own brands. After not much luck i finally picked up the Nivea Visage wipes. As soon as I used them i knew that they were perfect. They have the thickest clothes which has a texture to it so is great for exfoliating at the same time. Every last trace of make-up was removed without any hassle (even mascara without making my eyes sore). I found only one problem with them and that is to make sure you don't leave the pack open AT ALL as they can dry out!
I have tried several different types of cleansing facial wipes and have been fairly disappointed with them all. I was loathe to try another one, but because these ones were being offered free if you bought a Nivea moisturiser,I felt I had nothing to lose. They also claimed to remove all traces of makeup including mascara. They are quite thick and very soft and extremely good at cleansing. I wear eye makeup every day, and I only need to use one of these to remove the lot. I will continue to buy these and would highly recommend them to other people.
It's not often I decide to treat myself to a new product these days as I am being a bit careful now I'm out of work, but I did decide to try these and I have to say I am not disappointed! The product that I have tried is Nivea Soft Facial Cleansing Wipes and they’re so good that I felt an opinion coming on straight away! I have always used Nivea products of one sort or another ever since mom used to put Nivea cream on my shoulders to stop me burning in the sun when I was a little girl. There wasn’t the range of sun tan creams then that we have now, I am talking about the 1950’s and early 60’s here! Sorry, I’m digressing – back to the subject in question. Nivea Soft Facial Cleansing Wipes were on special offer at out local Safeways, reduced from over £4 to £2.99 for a pack of 25. As we can use admatch in our local Asda store, so that on production of the relevant advert you can buy Asda shopping at someone else’s prices, I headed over armed with my Safeway leaflet. The first thing I noticed was that Asda’s normal price was only £2.49 – exit Safeways leaflet! I told you that story because it shows that for this type of product it really does pay to shop around. Anyway I bought myself said cleansing wipes and looked forward to trying them. I accept that this is going to be a more expensive way of cleansing than using my usual Avon Clearskin cleanser, but I figured that these would be ideal for my holidays, providing that I liked them of course! I know that my sister has tried their 3 in 1 wipes and was impressed with them so I guessed that I would be on a safe bet. The wipes themselves are about six inches square and come folded, in a resealable pack. They are made of a ‘soft fleece with deep cleansing micro-sponges’ and are much thicker than the ordinary cleansing wipes such as ‘Wet Ones’, which was the sort of thing that I was expecting.
The smell is very pleasant and the lotion is alcohol free, it’s about the only time that I think alcohol free is a good thing, but that’s another story! They have also been tested so that they are safe to use around your eyes. I rarely wear make up during the day, and when I do it’s only a small amount so I can’t comment on the cleansing quality of these wipes if you wear a lot of heavy make up, but I was very impressed. The wipe was lovely and soft to use, the smell was really nice, the lotion was cooling and my face felt and looked really clean when I had finished. The writing on the pack states that they ‘remove make up, purify and tone in one step’ and it is definitely true. I could really feel the toner making the skin on my face feel refreshed and glowing. These are definitely going to be so useful to take on holiday. The only problem is that they are so nice to use in this hot weather we’re having at the moment. I have been using them when I’ve done some gardening or shopping and got really hot and sticky. At this rate I’m going to need another pack before long.
I have just recently bought these as I had run out of eye make up remover and these were cheaper and took all makeup off so seemed a good bet. In their own words they remove make-up, pruify and tone in one step. They are in fact brilliant, they are like baby wipes in that they come in a resealable packet (you get 25 in all) and you just wipe them over your face and they take the whole lot off (inlduing waterproof mascara - great!!). It does state on the packet that they are opthamologically tested so suitable for use on the delicate eye area and I found that there was no stinging sensation and they were really gentle to use. I am a total convert, just so you know I have combo skin in that I am oily in the T zone and dry on the cheeks. Go try them!
Wipes that cleanse, tone and moisturise in one step
