Nivea Visage Tinted Moisturizer
Advantages: Gives a nice even look
I am the sort of girl who wears make up every day and I don't mean every day I wear a full face of make up but it is rare for me not to wear foundation, concealer and blusher. However, in an attempt to help keep my skin in better condition coming into the winter a month or so ago I decided to try and stop wearing make up when I really didn't need to but I wanted to find a tinted moisturiser that I could apply and have a bit of reassurance that apart from my skin is being looked after any little blemish I may have is also covered. No, I'm not vain but I do like my appearance to look decent at all times.
After having a bit of a shop around I stumbled across the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Tinted Moisturiser whilst in my local Morrisons of all places. It happened to have been reduced along with all the other Nivea products so I thought it was definitely worth a try and it was bought! Nivea is a household name whether you use their products or not it is hard not to have heard of the brand. Known for making its luxurious creams it has now branched out having a variety of toiletry products for both men and women.
The Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Tinted Moisturiser doesn't need much introduction as it simply is a tinted moisturiser nothing more and nothing less. It has been specifically formulated to help restore your skin's natural glow by moisturising your skin but also to help enhance your natural skin colour with the help of light reflecting pigments used in the cream. The cream is classed as a light day cream and has been designed for all skin types.
The cream itself does look rather posh on the shelf against some of the other moisturisers as it comes in a slim, rectangular box which is white in colour. The packaging on the box is exactly the sale on the rectangular shaped tube the moisturiser comes in. Very simple and minimal packaging but then most of Nivea's packaging is exactly the same. Of course both the box and the tube has the blue Nivea logo and features a small caramel coloured strip indicating that it is the tinted moisturiser as there are a few other moisturisers which come in the same sort of box. On the back of both the box and tube there is usage instructions, a bit of blurb about the tinted moisturiser as well as the ingredients list.
The moisturiser itself when squeezed out of the tube looks exactly the same as foundation in terms of colour it is a rich beige colour - I was exactly a cream which was a lot lighter but it was hardly a concern. The consistency though is quite a lot thicker than a foundation as it isn't as thin but does have quite a thick consistency which when it is squeezed out of the tube say onto your finger for application the moisturiser won't move an inch it will literally stay on the surface where it has been squeezed out of the tube. There is hardly an aroma to it but if you smell closely there is a very gentle, mild and very typical Nivea aroma to it.
The moisturiser is applied just like any other moisturiser, on clean and dry skin. You simply apply to give an even coverage all over your face. The moisturiser is enriched in Hydramine and Vitamin E which will easily help nourish your skin and moisturise it - Nivea do say it will provide intensive moisture for 24 hours which is certainly quite a claim! For the tinted claim Nivea have used a combination of light reflecting and colour pigments which help to blend your natural skin tone as well as brighten your complexion.
I have been using this moisturiser for over a month now and I use it on the days where I don't need to wear make-up and I do find it a good alternative as although it does moisturise my skin (and I can suffer with dry skin on my face) it manages to give a lovely tinted coat to my skin giving it a bit of colour but with a natural looking finish so although my skin looks a lot more flawless than if I wasn't wearing any make-up it doesn't give that typical make up look which is what I was wanting. It certainly does give a lovely finish to the skin covering up those imperfections.
The only thing I don't like about this tinted moisturiser is the consistency. Yes, it is ideal to apply as it isn't thin but being quite thick it doesn't spread easily so you do end up using more than what you would do with a moisturiser with a thinner consistency but on the plus side despite its thickness it doesn't leave an unwanted residue behind and is absorbed easily into the skin which to be fair is more important to me than the thick consistency.
Overall, my skin has been easily cared for and nourished with this tinted moisturiser and it manages to give my skin a bit of a natural looking cover rather than resorting to foundation. I am incredibly pleased I tried this tinted moisturiser as it really does do what it says and I will be buying it again once my tube has run out. Would I recommend? Yes, definitely. Even if you don't wear make-up but still want to cover up imperfections this really does the job and what's best it does actually look after your skin. 5 stars from me.
