Award winning skin care at a steal!

Nurture Replenish Day Cream with SPF 15

      Why buy?...
I was tempted by claims of skin density being restored, fine lines decreasing and by the competitive price. Add to that a 'Beauty Steals Award' from the team at The Beauty Bible and it became even more attractive! I will be honest - I was excited when I read the blurb and reviews of very pleased ladies and it appealed to me all the more as it includes phytoestrogens which gradually decline around the time of peri menopause onwards. I have been experiencing some symptoms of peri menopause and believe that it can begin as early as the late 20's for some.

      What's in it for me?....
As it happens there is a lot going on for this product and I have to wonder if it's a tall order. How many times are we tempted by wonder creams - there's one every month or so claiming to make you look younger, firmer etc etc. I am skeptical at best these days and take some convincing. I have to admit, reluctantly, that I was elated once I'd placed my order for this cream and could be found hovering around the front door awaiting the postman.

I'll enlighten you will some snippets of this super cream:
Those marvelous phytoestrogens may plump out the skin. Reduce fine lines. By way of encouraging new cells you may get a brighter and more youthful complexion! Wonderful moisturising and hydration qualities achieved with the aid of B5 and squalane (I know! it's derived from olive oil). To prevent premature aging it also includes vitamin E. SPF 15 thrown in for good measure too.

      Postman...
After a grab and snatch from my unsuspecting postman I sat down and allowed myself to be suitably impressed by the package! Having paid what I thought was a bargain price for my goodies from Nurture I was surprised (pleasantly) by the quality box.

I had ordered the serum and night cream too - oh and the hand cream and eye cream, well I'm worth it! This day cream was only £11.95 for a 50 ml pot but it arrives all dressed up like a premium brand. Boxed beautifully. I was so impressed that it held me back from my eagerness to get trialing the product.

A brief account of the quality of the pot - it's as decent a container as I could wish for. Oozes quality, looks nice and is ergonomically well designed. Impressed. Enough said.

      Trial....
Face cleansed. Face covered in the Nurture Replenish serum. Face feels wonderful already but you do need the caressing touch of a day cream. I have been using this product for over a month and still loads left in the pot as a little is all you need. I dab a spot of the cream on cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. Massage it in and the jobs a good one. Rewind a little... the cream is white. Clean looking, which I very much like. Fragrance is adorable and fresh, slightly synthetic but nothing that would put me off. The consistency is perfect as it is not overly thick that it takes an age to soak in but also it isn't runny/watery.

The cream is soon soaked into the skin and afterward is not sticky. It feels silk like and smooth. My skin feels hydrated and this lasts most of the day with the latter end telling me that it is ready for the evening skin care treat - I'd be surprised if after 12 hours my skin was still feeling super hydrated. Having said that if I run my fingers over my skin it certainly doesn't feel dry.

I have not had any adverse reactions when using this cream. I have had broken veins when using the No 7 Protect and Perfect range and it burned my skin in small areas too. When I used Weleda Rose my skin broke out in spots as it was far too oily for me. I had a similar reaction to a Green People Day Cream where a rash of spots erupted. At this point I shall point out that this company do not test on animals - another appealing credential.

I have used both mineral powder foundation and liquid BB cream foundation with this day cream and it performs very well with either. It provides a good base for both but I have to say that a primer does make the difference, especially under the eyes.

And what of the attractive claims?....
I shall point out again here that I begin my skin care with the Nurture Replenish Serum and I also use the Night Cream by this brand so the results that I will convey to you are not from sole use of the day cream.

After beginning daily application of this day cream (in conjunction with the serum and night cream) I can report the following:

      Skin Density restored:
Within a couple of weeks I noted plumper looking skin on my face. It isn't dramatic in effect but it is definitely more dense. It feels good and it looks much improved.

      Fine lines reduced:
Not long after using the skin care regime I saw a difference in my fine lines to the outer edges of my mouth and below my eye area. I have to say that I have few fine lines but those that were around are much more difficult to notice now. This has impressed me.

      Brighter, healthier complexion:
I have to say that I think a lot of this is down to the fantastic serum but I don't doubt that this cream goes some way to making a difference too. After a couple of weeks it is so dewy, smooth, bright and somewhat more youthful! For the price of this I'm really bowled over. Impressed.

      Long term moisturisation:
Absolutely. Let's not get beyond realistic expectations, if you are doing 12 hour plus days then skin is going to be getting ready for some TLC, this cream keeps my skin hydrated and very comfortable for up to 12 hours which I think is pretty damn good. It's good!

I have trialed a good many day creams. I've searched and researched till I'm blue in the face (not a good look, don't try it). Finally and thankfully I can now settle. This is my perfect day cream at a perfect price.

      Recommendation...
Easy. Yes. If, like me, you are at the time in life where you are feeling the tell tale signs of peri menopause (can begin at a surprisingly young age) you may want the added bonus of phytoestrogens that are included in this range. It makes attractive claims that we have all heard before, many times, too many times! This time, in my experience, the claims are true! I can't believe that I paid such a low price (compared to other similar products at the same size) for a cream that made such a difference to the appearance of my skin but also maintained a wonderful, comfortable hydration throughout the day. It smells nice, feels nice and isn't sticky or damp. Make up sits well upon it and it lasts ages! I can highly recommend!
