Advantages: Easily absorbed, non greasy, economical.
Disadvantages: None for me
I first used this moisturiser in the 1970s when I started to use make up. It was then sold in a glass bottle and was called Oil of Ulay. I still keep calling it that by mistake! The main selling point back then, I believe was that it kept your skin young looking! I still have a small travel sized glass bottle (30ml ) which I fill when going on holiday. on the back of the bottle it says:
'This mysterious beauty fluid is so similar to the natural oils and moisture of your skin that each precious drop is absorbed quickly and completely. This bottle was then manufactured by Richardson- Vicks Ltd.
I can remember my mum standing in front of the mirror with small pink blobs of Ulay (Olay) around her face before she rubbed it in.
I used to pinch my mum's Olay (I will now try to keep referring to this product as Olay, just to save confusion!) until I started work and bought my own.
Now, many years later, I still use this moisturiser daily. I have tried other moisturisers over the years but can honestly say that none compare to Olay for me.
So what is so good about this product?
Well, what I like best about Olay moisturising fluid is the fact that it's quickly and easily absorbed and really does feel non greasy.
It's a great base for make up and I find that foundation goes on particularly smoothly when Olay has been applied first.
And I like the smell, which is very subtle. In fact there is hardly a fragrance at all, which is best in a moisturiser as it then doesn't clash with other toiletries. I did wonder if the smell was almost non existent but my husband says the smell is really nice! He doesn't use it though!!!
Also, I like the packaging which is simple- a plastic pink tinted bottle so you can see how much is left. It has a black screw on top that is easy to use. You simply squeeze a small amount onto your hand and there is no spillage.
A very small amount of this fluid is all that's necessary. A tiny blob really does go a long way.
It is also reasonably priced. I usually buy the 100ml bottle but it's available in different sizes and sets. It can be bought from chemists and supermarkets. I purchased my current bottle from Savers and paid around £3. It is well worth this price because it lasts for ages.
It's available in sensitive. Look for the small green label. I have sensitive skin but find I can use the original without any adverse reaction.
And the best thing is- it has kept my skin young looking!!! No! I am only joking and wouldn't really know! Here's hoping that it's worked.
Olay is now sold by the Procter and Gamble group. The 100 ml bottle can be kept for 12 months.
Summary: Definitely the best moisturiser that I've used.
