“ Brand: Oil of Olay / Type: Moisture Lotion / Subcategory: Oil / What it does: Moisturizes, Vitalizes, Protects / Skin type: for mature skin „
I tried to use this as my mum recommended it, and she looks fabulous for her age. However, as much as I've tried, I can not continue to use it. I find it to be far too greasy for my normal-dry skin. It was far from a pleasant moisturising experience, and I only used a tiny bit at a time. I found this to leave a kind of layer of film on my skin, and all day long my skin was left feeling oily and greasy, and I could not manage to finish using the product.
Oil of Olay is very popular, and normally aimed at the more mature market. I am 29, and have friends of a similar age who use it. It may just not be suitable for my skin type at the moment, and who knows in 10 years time I may swear by it. I think it is one of those things that you just have to try out. I know so many people that do swear by it. If you are wanting to try it out, I would really recommend only using a very small amount. As I said, I found it to be far too greasy for my skin. However if it does work for you, it does represent good value for money.
Oil of Ulay was a favourite of mine for years, and the name change to Oil of Olay (it's American name - cheaper to make the adverts if you only have to do one lot for the English speaking countries, methinks) has changed nothing. Nor the fact that they have a complete range of products now, when for years it was the tried and trusted beauty fluid. I love this stuff. I'm 45 now, but my skin is as nice as (and better than some) people's who are half my age.
It is easily absorbs and helps rehydrate dry skin, and enable your skin to retain the moisture. I like the fact that their are UV protectants in it now. Years ago, we didn't know the damage that could occur from the sun's rays, we do now, and you have only to look at the older women who were sun worshippers in those years. Their leathery looking skin is testimony to the damage that can be wrought from sun and wind.
It is a lighter lotion than a lot of similar products and the old advertising slogan "skin just drinks it in" is so true. It is absorbed quickly and easily. It's fragrance is also gentle, not overpowering like some, and I have even told male friends of mine who work outdoors, about this and recommended they use it! it lives up to it's hype, and really does benefit your skin. Take it from someone who has been a fan for over 25 years!
I bought this from my local chemist as it was on special offer, I usually use Oil of Olay and decided that it wouldn't harm me to use one for older skins. Well, I'm now hooked, it really brightens my skin up in the mornings, which is a miracle in itself especially in the winter months when your skin can look groggy anyway. It's great value for money and lasts ages, you only need a tiny bit as a little goes a long way. I'm only 26 and although Pro Vital it supposed to be for 'mature skins' I'd rather use it now and protect my skin from wrinkles. So, even if your still young, this product can still work wonders!
