Works really well as a toner

I'm 31 and I've heard you're supposed to start with the anti-aging stuff when you hit your 30s, rather depressingly. This is the first time I've used a toner so I can't compare it with anything I've used in the past, only on the experience of using this particular product.

The following information is from the Olay website:

      **product information**
Olay Anti-Wrinkle Toner is your multiple age-defying solution for younger-looking skin. It provides multiple age-defying benefits in one essential product that is specially designed to gently cleanse your skin while beginning to fight signs of ageing.

      **application instructions**
For younger-looking skin, use daily in the mornings and evenings. Apply generously to cotton wool and sweep gently over face and neck, taking special care on ageing- prone areas. For optimal results, use after Olay Age-Defying Anti-Wrinkle Milk and follow with a day or night moisturiser from the Olay Anti-Wrinkle range. This product can also be used to refresh your skin during the day.

      **Full Ingredients**
Aqua, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hamamelis Virginiana, Chamomilla Recutita, Potassium Phosphate, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Isoceteth-20, Salicylic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Pentylene Glycol, Benzophenone-4, Sodium Propylparaben, Sodium Methylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Butylparaben, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Parfum, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, CI 14700, CI 19140.

OK, back to me now! I bought this for £4.99 from Boots after reading the claims on the bottle. I've always had problem skin; spots, large pores, greasy patches, dry patches, dark circles under my eyes. You name it, I've had it! I've spent years trying out different products and my skin is always very sensitive to change so I was excited, but also a bit worried about trying this.

The bottle has a flip lid with a small hole in the top through which you drip the toner onto a cotton wool ball. I do find you have to be careful as a little too much can gush out if you tip it up too far.

You then wipe the cotton wool ball with the toner over your face and neck and that's it! It has a pleasant scent, not too overpowering and dries quickly, within a few seconds. I then follow it up with my normal moisturiser.

I've only been using it once a day in the evening rather than the twice a day which is recommended. After only a week of using it I definitely noticed a difference in my skin. It felt a lot firmer and smoother to the touch and my pores look a lot smaller. The best thing for me, though, was that I had no spot break outs at all! I've been using it for six weeks so far and I've used about 1/3 of the bottle so it should last me 4-5 months. If I use it twice a day, as recommended, it would obviously last half that, I think that's great value for money for £4.99.

Olay is owned by P&G, which I used to avoid as they were renowned for testing on animals, but these days they are claiming that 99% of their products and ingredients are not tested on animals and they're working on the other 1%. This is great news for me and makes me very pleased to carry on using Olay and other P&G products.
