I have been buying Olay products for as long as I can remember and have tried pretty much most of their wipes over the years. I am not really loyal to one product but will buy the ones which are on the best offer at the time. I bought this pack of 20 Olay Express soothing wet cleansing wipes for sensitive skin for just £1.50 from Wilko which is half the recommended retail price. You can also currently get them on offer at Tesco for £2.84 but they are £5.19 at Lloyds Chemist so it is well worth shopping round for the best deal. The ingredients include Aloe Vera and cucumber extract which help to sooth and cool your skin.
The pack is oblong in shape and is a bright blue colour and displays the ingredients and directions for use. It has the usual resealable closure tab which you need to make sure is closed firmly after use to keep the moisture in the remaining wipes. These particular wipes are very moist to the touch and even when I get down to the last few they are always still as moist as the first one with no signs of drying out. The wipes are white and are soft to the touch and have a clean fresh fragrance which is quite subtle which I like as I don't like strong smells on my skin. I find that one wipe is sufficient to cleanse my face and neck even if I am wearing a lot of make up including waterproof mascara.
These wipes do a very good job of cleaning my face and I can feel a lovely coolness as soon as they touch my skin which feels refreshed afterwards and very clean. With these wipes you can feel a slight tingly feeling but I think this adds to the clean feeling but some people may not like this. I will usually wait for about ten minutes or so and then apply a moisturiser or night cream depending on what time of day it is. The wipes seem to be quite strong and I would say it would be very hard to rip or tear them and although personally I don’t seem to have to rub very hard to remove any type of make up I would think that you could use quite a bit of pressure and they would still stay in one piece.
These wipes are gentle and have never caused me any irritation on my face or around the eye area. They are fragrance free, and alcohol-free and have been dermatologically tested, so should be suitable for a lot of people. I love the clean fresh feeling I get after using these and will definitely buy them again.
I am a long time user of Olay products as I think they are the best thing you can do for your skin and your face. My mum used their products when I was young and so I just followed her lead and have used them pretty much ever since. Sometimes I decide to try another product for a while but then I always go back to Olay.
These wipes are perfect for times when you really want to give your face a good clean but don't always have access to water or time to really clean your face properly. I find they are great after a night out when you just want to go straight to bed so I csn just quickly wipe my makeup off with these and can feel like my face is really clean. The wipes come in a pack, much like a pack of baby wipes, with a bit at the top where you can pull the tab snd reseal it and that enables you pull the wipes out of pack eaily.
There are 20 in a pack and at the moment in Boots are on special for £1.99 so if you just use one a day then I think thats fairly good value. The wipes are said to remove dirt and make-up whilst nourishing and soothing the skin.
According to Olay these wipes are, "especially formulated for sensitive skin, with lift & lock technology to gently sweep away dirt, make up and waterproof mascara while helping to enhance your skin's natural moisture."I find these wipes nice and moist without being over wet and I love the feeling of them on my face. They really do remove all my make up well and leave my skin feeling nice and soft and not dried out. In fact, they are evn said to smooth and even skin texture and I do think this is a fairly true claim.I always take a couple of these packs of wipes on holiday with me as they are grest if you get a bit sweaty at the beach and are perfect for wiping off suntan lotion at the end of the day. Also, it means I don't have to carry around extra products, just these wipes for my face. All in all these are a great way to nourish your face whilst removing your make up.
i bought a pack of olay wet cleansing wipes recently lovely and compact packaging so you can put these in your handbag or beauty bag .
what i like so much about these, are the lovely cotton feel of the wipes,
they arent harsh or abrasive on your skin like some other leading brand wipes can prove to be .
these wipes are very refreshing on the skin , and very cleansing so that you can feel an immeadiate effect of cleansed skin they are also very moisturising too, these wipes promise to lift even the most stubborn make up and dirt from your face without any irritation at all
if you need to remove eye make up for instance these wipes will do the trick , so you see the benefit of these wipes is that its an all in one cleansing system , it really is as simple as that- say for example your going out for the weekend , or going on a daytrip just pop a pack of these in your handbag facial cleansing in an instant
and of course these wipes are by olay a brand you know and trust i would definately recommend these to a friend .
I was purchasing some moisturiser which was on offer at my local Morrisons supermarket recently, when I spotted these wet cleansing wipes by Olay priced at only £1 for a pack of 20, which I thought was a good price. Although I have used a few different cleansing wipes to date, I had never actually used any by Olay prior to making this purchase.
As the skin on my face can be quite sensitive at times, I opted for the sensitive wipes instead of the regular ones and looked forward to trying them. Even though I had never purchased Olay wipes previously, I have enjoyed some Olay products over the years, such as their beauty fluid and Everyday Sunshine moisturiser and therefore felt confident about the brand.
The wipes come in a small, handy resealable pack, which means they are ideal to carry around in your handbag. Simply peel away by lifting a flap on the front, remove a wipe, then seal it back down again and the wipes are kept moist and fresh ready for next time. You must dispose of the wipes in a bin and not flush them down the toilet.
These cleansing wipes are especially formulated for sensitive skin and Olay state they have lift and lock technology to gently sweep away dirt, make up and waterproof mascara, whilst helping to enhance your skin's natural moisture.
They are fragrance free, dermatologically tested and won't clog your pores.
You are advised to use the wipes every morning and/or evening to remove dirt and make-up from your face, neck and around the eye area and then follow up with a good moisturiser.
Olay state these wipes will soothe sensitive skin and this is the main reason I was looking forward to using them, as when the skin on my face is particularly sensitive it can feel a little sore or irritable and therefore I looked forward to the 'soothing' abilities using these wipes would provide.
So, I was more than a little surprised when the first time I used one of these wipes I experienced a slight stinging sensation on my face. The skin on my face at that time was not feeling particularly sensitive either, in fact it was fine and I had no discomfort at all prior to using the wipes. However, as soon as I used the wipe I felt a tingling, stinging feeling, which I am glad to say began to ease as soon as I stopped using the wipe. I looked in the mirror expecting my face begin to redden, but it seemed ok, however, the stinging sensation was not what I had expected from using these wipes and it was far from a soothing experience!
On the plus side, the wipes did an effective job of removing make up and cleansing my face, but the slight stinging sensation bothered me.
I used the wipes again the next day and although the stinging sensation was still evident, it was not as bad and as I experienced no reddening of my skin, I continued to use these wipes just to use them up, although I found every time I used them I experienced a stinging sensation of varying degrees.
Because of this, I won't be purchasing these wipes again and can't say they are ideal for sensitive skin as they are certainly not for me. Whilst they effectively removed my make up and cleansed my skin, the stinging sensation was something I had not expected at all. Indeed I experienced no 'soothing' qualities from using these wipes at all.
Of course we are all different and these wipes may well suit someone else's skin perfectly, however I do feel that something which is designed especially for sensitive skin, shouldn't have the stinging effect I experienced and that troubled me. Therefore I can't recommend these wipes to fellow sensitive skin sufferers.
It's a shame as I have always had good experiences with Olay products and so it is a pity I cannot recommend these cleansing wipes.
For those of us who use makeup every day it's a refreshing feeling when you finally get home and remove it all, facial wipes make this fantastically easy and my choice would definitely be Olay Daily Facials!
The packaging is a bright blue and white plastic with a shiny exterior complete with a series of colours which stand out and draw your attention.
These wipes are sealed by a resealable white flap of plastic keeping in the freshness and cleanliness, stopping air from sneaking in an drying them out.
Olay Daily Facial Wipes Aim-
Sweep away dirt, make-up and waterproof mascara but at the same time they want to help enhance your skin's natural moisture using Olay conditioners, all of this will help to hydrate your skin and improve its moisture.
These wipes have been dermatologically tested, which means they are suitable for your skin and will not cause any harm, they are also non comedogenic meaning they do not block your pours, or cause spots.
These wipes also include directions on the back helping you properly remove your makeup and appropriately dispose of them when used.
Olay also includes a phone number to call is you have any questions or comments and a website to visit for more information.
These wipes come in small and compact packs of 20, for a price that varies in multiple shops, although they are able to be purchased at around £2. Which I believe is slightly to expensive for the amount of wipes given.
While these are my choice for makeup wipes, there is one serious disadvantage these wipes cause serious pain when used around the eyes the wipes, which for a makeup wipe is not suitable, if this was fixed then these facial wipes would be the perfect buy.
-Removes all dirt from skin.
-Smells fresh and clean.
-Good for your skin, reducing spots and blocked pores.
-Expensive for the amount.
-Painful to use at times.
Facial cleansing wipes are one of the best skin care products around in my opinion. They're practical, time-saving, and easy to use. I always have a couple of packs at home ready for taking off heavy make-up or a quick cleanse before bed time. I'm not particularly loyal to any one skin care brand, but after having a great experience with Olay's Gentle Cleaners Wet Cleaning Wipes I decided to give their Essentials Sensitive Wet Cleansing Wipes a try when I saw them on offer in Tesco. The RRP for this product is £2.49, which is fairly reasonable, and I got them at half price so paid just £1.24.
Product description: "Olay Essentials sensitive wet wipes goes beyond cleansing to help soothe and nourish sensitive skin. Gentle everyday cleansing in one easy step. Our wipes have lift & lock technology to gently sweep away dirt, makeup and waterproof mascara while helping to enhance your skin's natural moisture."
Recommended directions for use: Peel label to open. Use every morning and / or evening to remove dirt and makeup from your face, neck and around the eye area. Dispose of used wipe in a bin (do not flush). Reseal pack to keep wipes moist.
Facial cleansing wipes are great for when I'm short on time or can't be bothered with a full on cleanse / tone / moisturise routine. These are specifically targeted at sensitive skin. My skin type is starting to balance out a little now I've moved away from my blemish prone problem skin years, and I would class my skin as combination, with occasional sensitive tendencies.
The packaging is very standard for most facial wipes. They come in a plastic wrapper with a peel-back label on the top which you can then re-seal after use. Each pack contains 20 wipes, so to cost it individually this works out that I paid just over 6 pence per wipe which is great value for money.
The wipes themselves are a basic white coloured cloth that have a nice moist feel, and there did not seem to be any noticeable fragrance. The fabric of the wipes is thick and durable but soft at the same time, and they seemed to be more wet than other facial wipes I've used before, maybe to help lessen any irritation on sensitive skin.
To use these cleansing wipes I simply rub over my face in the same way that I would wash with a flannel. As they are already moist you can use them without water and this makes the whole process very speedy and mess free. I rub the wipe over my face, starting from the chin and working upwards so as not to pull the skin down. They seem to remove make-up easily and do make my skin feel clean and moistened afterwards. Because the wipes stay wet this helps them to glide over the skin and and they do a thorough job of removing my make-up.
BUT, here comes the big downside, and the deciding factor in my low score for this review. Whenever I get to taking my eye make-up off the wipes really make my eyes sting. It is quite a strong painful feeling and I was extremely surprised by this as I've never experiences a facial wipe that has this effect before. I also thought it was pretty poor performance for a product targeted at sensitive skin to cause discomfort and irritate my eyes. I checked the packaging after this first happened, to make sure that they are indeed intended for use on eye make-up, and confirmed that there are 2 references to removing eye make-up, but also a warning to: "avoid getting into your eyes. If eye contact occurs, rinse well with water".
These wipes are nice and moist and do a good job of cleansing quickly, but I would never want to purchase them again because they are completely impractical as I cannot use them for removing my eye make-up thanks to the awful stinging pain it gives when I use the wipes on my eye area. I'll be sticking to my preferred Olay Gentle Cleansers wipes and would certainly not be able to recommend these wipes to anyone with sensitive skin or eyes.
