Advantages: Clean well, suitable for sensitive skin
Disadvantages: Leave skin a little dry
When it comes to skincare, I follow quite a strict regime morning and night in order to keep my skin in the best condition possible and this includes cleansing, toning and moisturising twice a day. I often use skincare wipes for the cleansing part and although I have preferred brands, I tend to purchase whatever is on offer at the time of needing them and my current skincare wipes are Olay Essentials Wet Cleansing Wipes.
A pack of 20 wipes tends to cost around the £2.50 mark, though I got 2 packs for £4.00 from Tesco's, hence my reason for purchase. Olay is quite an expensive brand so I don't tend to own a lot of their products, but I do like their skincare wipes as I have used others in the range previously. I would describe these more as a cleansing cloth, than a wipe as it has a nice softness to it.
What I like about these wipes is that they really leave your skin feeling clean and fresh, but without being too harsh. After use, you have that lovely tingly feeling on your skin which indicates that you have just given your skin a really thorough cleanse, and although you can't necessarily see any traces of dirt and grime left on your skin, I am confident enough in the product that all traces of dirt are removed with these wipes.
After a day of being bogged down in make-up, these wipes leave my skin being able to breathe and they leave a really cool, fresh sensation on the skin that matches the best of the wipes I have tried in the past.
Quite often, to get such a positive impact on the skin though, you often find that the wipes are a little harsh or rough on the skin but these wipes are quite soft to the touch and are suitable for sensitive skin so you get really clean, fresh skin but without having to compromise elsewhere.
My skin did feel a little dry after using these, but then I tend to get that with most wipes due to my skin type but they didn't leave my skin feeling irritable or looking red and blotchy at all which proves how gentle they are as my skin is quite sensitive and it doesn't take much for me to get the slightest irritation. They aren't particularly moisturising, if anything a little drying on my skin but I moisturise after cleansing anyway and this sorts the issue.
The name gives it away, but these wipes did feel a lot more moist than others I have tried in the past. If anything, they are probably a little too moist as I find myself wiping the excess moisture off my skin with a towel.
Overall, these are really good wipes that give your skin a really good, thorough cleanse. Yes, they do leave my skin a little dry, but I find this happens with most wipes anyway on my skin so I don't see it as an issue. This aside though, these are great wipes that do a good job of cleansing without irritating my skin and therefore they come with a recommendation from me.
Summary: A great set of cleansing wipes from the Olay range
