***Why I want the product*** In my younger years I used to use Oil of Ulay as it was called then, mostly their moisturiser called Beauty Fluid that comes in the pink plastic bottle. The reason why I used it then was because my Mum used it and I liked the way it felt on my skin even then. But growing up I moved away from Beauty Fluid and away from Oil of Ulay all together. Surprising all those years Olay (as it has been rebranded to) as made a full circle back into my life. I have even reverted back to using Beauty Fluid periodically but now I have been converted to Olay Essentials Conditioning Milk for Normal/Dry and Combination skin types. At night I always double cleanse, once is to take my makeup off and the second cleanse is to really clean my skin without rubbing all my makeup, dirt and pollution back into my skin. Since getting older and my skin type changing I need a product I could use purely to remove makeup but a product that would not aggravate my skin or make some problems and issues worse for my skin and me. Before I used to use one cleanser for both jobs but because the cleanser I use is very gentle based for sensitive skin I noticed a lot of the time even a double cleanse it would not remove all makeup as it was so gentle and not meant to remove makeup. Hunting for something that I knew would be up to the job and good in price, I did not hesitate to look any further when I came across Olay Conditioning Milk when I saw it while browsing in the Internet. ***Tell me a little about Olay Conditioning Milk*** I was after a cleanser that was purely milk based due to the formulation being gentle enough for my sensitive skin, yet strong enough to remove all traces of makeup. Olay say this formulation of caring cleansing ingredients that contain extracts of Aloe and Cucumber, helps to dissolve away dirt and makeup to cleanse effectively and condition the skin. With this product Olay say their conditioning milk has been blended to be the mildest and gentle on the skin yet perfect to use daily without irritating sensitive skin. With extracts of Aloe and Cucumber, to help dissolve makeup, dirt and grime that has built up through the day. It is dermatologically tested, which means it will not block pores, again another plus for me and my acne prone skin, which happened as I got older *sigh*. ***Packaging** Olay Conditioning Milk comes in a 200ml plastic tinted white bottle, tinted so you can see the white product inside the bottle. The hourglass bottle that is slightly nipped in at the waist has a long hourglass sticker on the front with the new re-designed and updated look. It has a clean and fresh feel with light blue from the top working the way down to show a deeper ocean blue with the famous Olay logo in the middle of the background. The back tells me a little about the product, how to use and ingredients. ***Ingredients*** Olay Conditioning Milk has ingredients that help with inflammatory such as Aloe Barbadensis and Cucumis Sativus which is also a moisturiser. pH Adjusters such as Citric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide (which I am surprised to see this is classed as a 5 (high) on skin irritant scale. ***Applying the product, and how it feels*** Opening the lip top lid and squeezing the bottle gently released a very creamy, light, white cleanser on my fingertips. I can smell a slight cucumber scent and maybe Aloe but it is not very detectable. Spreading the conditioning milk onto my full face of makeup, the product feels very soothing, cooling and refreshing. I found you also do not need a lot of product for it to spread all over my face but when I am wearing a full face I like a little more product so I can massage it in more and spread it around my face for longer. Gently massaging Conditioning Milk into my skin I can see my makeup dissolving away in quick time, so if you are in a hurry or one of those people who do not like to spend long on their beauty routine I find it does not take me long to remove all my makeup. I never have to be heavy handed either, which is a plus, gentle massaging movements is all you need to remove makeup effectively. You can remove this cleanser with cotton wool, wet or dry, rinse off by splashing water onto your skin or the way I do it and that is by a muslin cloth, which I have used for years and years and still it is the best way for me. I have tried to move this product with dry cotton wool and found the cotton wool comes off and leaves parts on my face; I also found it difficult to remove. Damp cotton wool was easier but I found it left a light film on my skin that felt greasy to me I also needed two cotton pads to make sure it was all removed thoroughly. After cleaning I was glad to feel my skin did not feel tight or dry but more of balance so you know this product is not stripping your delicate skin of its natural oils. I found it is good at removing makeup but do not try to remove eye makeup with it as once it gets into your eyes it will sting and Olay advise against this on the directions for use on the back of the bottle. ***Price and availability*** If you like the sound of this product you can purchase from a range of high street stores including Boots and Superdrug. Boots.com it is priced at a very reasonable £2.99 and the same price from superdrug.com ***What I think about it/do I like it?*** For the money I paid I think this is a brilliant product for removing makeup very affectively and a product that is not harsh on my skin at all. I have gone through three bottles of this product and still satisfied with it. ***Would I purchase again?*** A full size 200ml bottle can last me around four to five months and that is using this product once every day for the price I think that is fantastic value for money and would purchase again, after all I have all ready gone through previous bottles.
I do like buying and trying new skincare products and this is one I bought a couple of months ago. I bought it from Asda for £2, I knew I needed something to remove mascara so I grabbed the nearest one, recognised the brand, saw it was on offer and thought that should be fine. This is Olay Gentle Cleansers Conditioning Milk for everyday cleansing. The bottle is a white plastic 200ml bottle with a turquoise flip top lid. The blurb on the back informs the reader that the conditioning milk has been blended to be mild on your skin and that it contains extracts of aloe and cucumber, and is capable of dissolving away dirt and effectively cleanse and condition your skin. My skin is generally normal, but I have found in the past that some cleansers and toners have left my skin feeling tight and sore. Also some products that promise to be gentle have made my eyes sting when attempting to remove eye make up. In my opinion this product is VERY economical, especially at the price I paid! I have been using this now for a few months and still have a lot left. I use it twice a day, applying a small amount onto a cotton wool pad. I wear waterproof mascara daily and most days wear foundation too. This cream removes a couple of coats of black waterproof mascara easily and doesn't irritate my eyes at all. After using this product my skin is left feeling really clean, soft and refreshed. (with no irritation whatsoever). I think this product is excellent and would recommend this product. I will be buying it again.
