Having a good skin care routine I always think is a must each morning and some nights I always cleans, tone and moisturise. I like to think my skin is in good condition because of this, but I always have a pretty much healthy diet and drink plenty water. Olay - Gentle Cleanser Face Wash: 'This refreshing face wash from Olay is perfectly blended for gentle everyday cleansing. A formulation of cleansing ingredients, containing extracts of aloe and cucumber, lifts away dirt and make-up to effectively cleanse and refresh. The result is simply clean, refreshed and beautiful skin. Olay Gentle Cleanser Refreshing facewash is dermatologically tested and non comedogenic' - www.weldricks.co.uk My Findings: This was given to me in a gift set last Christmas and it has only been the past month or so I have gotten around to using it. I must admit I personally think it is one of the better cleansers out on the market. I do like the brand Olay and use their products often. The cleanser is dermatologically tested and is suited for normal, dry and combination skin. My skin can be somewhat sensitive at times but I have found this to be extremely gentle and it hasn't caused any reactions for me whatsoever. Directions are to wet the face and neck then massage the product over your skin and rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. Once I have done this my face feels clean, which of course it should, it doesn't give me any tightness after use. Plus my skin looks clean, healthy and certain refreshed ready to start what the day holds! It doesn't mention about fighting spots or anti aging properties but I do have spots now and then. This product seems to have helped with that. Cleansers is clear and of medium consistency, when mixed with the water on my face it lathers in to soft white foam. The scent it lovely and refreshing it has a nice sweetness to it and it does uplift me on a morning! After using I love the feel of my skin as it goes really smooth and soft to touch. Product comes in a squeeze tube so easy to get the cleanser out, packaging is normal Olay and not over the top. Once empty being plastic it can be recycled and safe for everyday use. Price and Availability: 130ml will cost around £2.50 - £3.50 which I personally deem as good value for money. It lasts well and I love how it makes my skin feel, I would even pay more and have done so in the past on products that haven't been half as good! Overall: I fully recommend this product as a cleanser it is wonderful and works great for me. Skin feels refreshed and back to life, and smells lovely too. Five out of five stars from me. I had a little bit of money left on an amazon voucher and since I needed a new facewash I thought I would use the money to get one online. Although I have to be slightly careful in my choice of facewash since I have sensitive skin, I do tend to have a couple of face washes on the go, so there is less chance of a reaction. Olay is not a brand that I have ever tried before, but when I saw this gentle refreshing cleansing facewash on offer at £2 on amazon, I thought it was a great price and worth trying. This facewash claims to be alcohol free as well as being mild enough to be used as an everyday cleanser. This wash contains extracts of cucumber and aloe and states that it will revitalise and cleanse the skin of everyday dirt and make up but at the same time not over dry it. As I said at the beginning, I have a couple of face washes/scrubs on the go at any one time, but I have been using this face wash for well over three weeks now at least every other day in the morning or evening, and I have had no adverse reaction to it. When you first open the tube and apply it to your face there is a nice light scent that lingers on your hands. Once you apply this to your face a great lather can be built up using only a very small amount of product, which means this is a good 'value for money' face wash. After washing this off my face, I definitely feel my skin cleansed and make up removed, although it won't fully remove mascara from the lashes. There is no tightness and there is certainly no dryness later on, and in fact my skin feels soft and smooth. To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about using this product, and really was drawn to it for the price. My mother who has sensitive skin had previously tried an Olay product and had a bad reaction to it, but I have had none, although I haven't been using it twice a day or daily. For the price, it actually does what it claims to do which I was impressed with, so all in all, I would buy this again as a facewash. I like the light scent, the cleanliness of my skin after use and most of all the price!
I have tried many different face washes in the past and this is by far the best one. I especially love this face wash because it is non greasy on your skin and it removes make up perfectly. I also love the way this refreshing face wash seems to bubble up all over my face and really leaves it feeling refreshed afterwards. The flip top makes it easy to used when I am in the bath and there does not seem to be any wastage as the tube allows me to squeeze all of the contents out right to the bottom. A tube of this will last me a long time, a few months usually which makes it good value for money. I have yet to try any other face wash as good as this one and would recommend it for thorough cleansing of the face and excellent make up removal.
I have sensitive skin that is extremely dry and flaky on the corners of my nose and between my eye brows and often get red or irritated after I cleanse. That is....until I tried Olay Gentle Cleanser for sensitive skin. I have been using this for a few months now and so far this seems to be the most gentle cleanser for my skin. I've tried other cleansers in between using this but always go back to this product because other cleansers seem to irritate my skin. My skin always feels clean and fresh after using this product and the aloe in the product leaves it feeling soothed. This is also a great product to use in conjuction with the clarisonic facial brush or the iSkin as is sensitive and not grainy. I love this product and its really the only cleanser I found that helps my severly dry skin. If they ever stopped making this product I don't know what I would do.
I am not a massive Olay fan and I dont typically tend to rave about the brand but I am very impressed with the 'Olay Gentle Cleansers Refreshers Face Wash' . I really like the fact it is a gentle facial cleanser that doesnt irritate my skin and yet it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and really clean . The cleanser is suitable for all types of skin and contains aloe and cucumber which have qualities proven to soothe and calm stressed out skin. I wet my face and neck and then massage into my skin and rinse with warm water . I have tried out lots of different facial washes and many of them have left my skin with a horrible burning sensation , because the product has been to harsh , but this cleanser is very gentle and is ideal for everyday use . Whenever I use this cleanser my skin feels almost tingly , because its been well cleansed and is ready for me to apply a decent moisturiser . This cleanser costs less than £4.00 so in my opinion is another beauty bargain Thanks Lyd xx
I always used to be of the thinking that Olay cleansers were just just for ladies, well that the entire Olay range was just for girls. But then Itried some of their moisturisers and realised they suited my skin too. Affordable, available from all leading supermarkets and well packaged, the Olay range is handy for the person who does not want to flash too much cash. This refreshing facial wash is designed to perk up the skin and revive and tone the complexion. The bottle comes in a squeezy form and you only need a small blob. I found the size of a ten pence piece worked for me. A good viscosity on the liquid too and a generous lathering when it is worked into the face. You need a little water to get the wheels into motion, but not too much or the lather will rinse off. The first thing that I noticed was that this did not have a strong exfoliating action like some of the cleansers I have gotten used to. The formula is light and creamy and it feels relaxing as it works into the skin. In terms of the smell, a mild soapy aroma draws you in, but nothing too stinky. I hankered after a fruity burst in the smell department. The results were relatively pleasing. The face felt a little softer after use, though it did not feel quite as revived as the results I have experienced with Labe Series or Dermalogica. I would suggest that this cleanser would be better for the end of the day, for calming and soothing before going to bed. It did not energise my face enough to warrant using it of a morning. That said, the skin complexion stayed clean and radiant and it left no greasy residue, so all in all I was impressed and I would come back to this for a nighttime regime.
A short time ago I wrote a review on the Olay Gentle Cleansers face wipes which I managed to scoop up during Asda's crazy 3 for £2 offer, and that wasn't the only Olay product I purchased at the time. taking full advantage of Olay products for literally less than pound, I decided to purchase what pretty much everyone uses on a daily basis - a cleansing face wash, also from the Olay gentle cleansers range. ==A little about Olay== Originating in South Africa in 1949 oil of ulay started out not as a cream but as a pink fluid which came packaged in a glass bottle. My mum used to use this when I was younger and I remember the glass bottle and often wondered what this pink liquid was for - mum used to tell me it was the secret to younger looking skin, and my mum is a very youthful looking 50 so perhaps there is some truth in what she said. Olay is one of Procter and Gambles multi billion dollar brands and has been referred to as the top facial skin care retail brand in the world. If you were to go by reputation alone then you would be forgiven for thinking that Olay couldn't possibly get it wrong. Up until 1999 the Olay brand was known here in the UK as oil of Ulay, oil of Ulan in Australia and oil of Olaz in a number of european locations and so in 1999 it was thought that a global identity would benefit the brand and the name Olay was adopted. ===Packaging=== The Olay gentle cleansers face wash comes in a standard 130ml tube in simple yet attractive white and aqua packaging with the Olay branding at the top of the tube in black and gold. The lid is a flip top which when opened reveals the small hole in which the clear gel can be retrieved. One point to note about these flip caps, and it's not only Olay that I've come across this with, is that when you try to open the cap in the shower it can be very unresponsive. I often find that I have to use my nails to pry the cap open and on one occasion I even managed to slice my finger open trying to get the cap up so the design has made the cap too tight to be opened with ease when your hands are wet. ===Appearance=== The face wash contained within the tube is simply a clear gel, not too thin so that it's runny - and not too thick that it feels like jelly, just the right consistency. When you rub the gel in between your hands it lathers up, not into a foamy mass like some faces washes I've experienced but instead to a smooth face wash that has the softness of silk and it actually is a pleasure to put on your face where it doesn't feel like you're blowing bubbles out your nose. ===Smell=== This face wash has the very distinct smell of cucumber about it which isn't surprising considering two of the main ingredients are extract of aloe and cucumber. It is a very pleasant smell and one that I always think smells clean and slightly fruity. ==The benefits of cucumber== On a previous review I wrote about the benefits of aloe and how it can be used in various skin care products, so for this one, I'm going to write a little bit about the benefits of cucumber to the skin. Like Aloe, cucumber is a product commonly used in modern cosmetics such as face masks, lotions and general face care products as an aid to soothing and softening skin and can be used to combat a number of skin problems such as sunburn and swelling under the eyes. Aside from the fact that it's a healthy nutritious snack, cucumber is also often used in the perfumery industry to provide scent to certain products due to the wealth of aromas associated with it. ==Directions for Use== The directions for use can be found on the back of the tube and instruct you to "Wet face and neck then massage product gently over skin. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and gently pat dry" (so nothing different there then). I generally wash my face twice a day, both in the morning and in the evening, using the Olay refreshing face wash following the instructions to a T....but I have to admit, at first, I wasn't really that satisfied with the product. Initially, after the 1st use my skin felt dry and tight, and I was a little concerned that this refreshing face wash wasn't doing my skin any favours and instead of refreshing it, it was dulling it down and drying it out, but surprisingly around 30 minutes after use, my skin felt incredibly smooth to the touch and the tightness completely disappeared, and the pleasant lingering smell of cucumber really did make me feel a little revitalised ==Do I Recommend the product== Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is the greatest face wash in the world, but it cleanses my face and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, after the initial dryness phase, and it cost me less than a pound. I think this is a good stable face wash , nothing too luxurious but suitable for every day use. It's not a deep cleanser, more of a surface cleanser and I'm not convinced that this would be kind to your skin if it were sensitive but it does say on the tube that it is dermatalogically tested, which would make you assume that it is suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin. It probably wouldn't be the first face wash I'd recommend but it's certainly not the worst I've ever tried, so if you can get it at a bargain price like I did then I'd say there's no harm in giving it a go. ===Where can you buy it=== Like most cosmetic products, you can purchase this face wash in your local Asda or Tesco, or Boots, Superdrug and so on, and the average cost for this one is around £3 give or take a few pennies higher or lower, but I definately would try to find this at a discounted price.
I have combination ''teenagery'' skin although I'm in my 20s (I know, rubbish!) which is prone to blemishes and occasional spots and greasiness so obviously I'm always on the look out for any face wash which can give me deep cleaning but also be quite gentle. I also like face washes which lather up easily and are more of a creamy gel than just a gel (like with the Simple face wash which is slippery and doesn't lather up much). I bought this Olay 'Gentle Cleansers' refreshing face wash at Tesco for £2.99 which I thought was a great price for a make such as Olay and face washes can usually go up to £4/5. Inicial reaction to packaging was that it was clear and has a flip lid which is great and really practical. The packaging does not claim to do anything magical either so I thought I'd let the product speak for itself. I've been actually really enjoying using it. It has a really nice clean subtle scent and is really smooth and silky to the touch and lathers up very easily indeed. It leaves my skin feeling soft and alive and has no irritations whatsoever, feels like a sensitive wash even though it's not described as such. Well worth buying for your daily face wash! Perfect!
When it comes to face wash it's something that I use on a daily basis. I am prone to rather oily skin particularly on my t-zone and I also get congested skin with blackheads making a regular appearance along with the odd zit and at almost 36 years of age I don't find that one bit acceptable! I chose this in Boots actually due to it's simple looking appearance and the fact that it's from a brand that I trust as I have used it for many years. When it comes to facial washes I don't want to use harsh and highly fragranced one's, just something to gently cleanse my skin and not dry it out. The Packaging: 130ml white and turquoise tube with a turquoise lid concealing a small hole to the bottom of it. On the front of it I'm told that it is Olay Gentle Cleansers Refreshing Face Wash 'Caring everyday cleansing' and that it is dermatologically tested and for normal/dry and combination skin. On the back of the tube other information given includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients and size is stated (As I've listed already) and contact details for Procter & Gamble (the manufacturer of the product) are given. Like I said previously it is a simple looking tube but informative enough and very neatly laid out information it has! A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Tube: Olay's refreshing face wash blended for gentle everyday cleansing. A formulation of caring cleansing ingredients, containing extracts of aloe and cucumber. The Result? Simply clean, refreshed, beautiful skin. Dermatologically tested Non comedogenic Using It: Well I use this as I'm directed to on the back of the tube which is to simply wet the face and neck then massage some of the product over the skin and rinse off thoroughly! All I need to wash my face is a really small blob of the transparent gel. It is runny enough though not like water or anything and has a none distinctive aroma of fruits to it which really is very pleasant indeed as it's a really natural smell and thus suitable for anyone to use! It lathers up with ease and rinses off with that same ease. Whilst using it, it doesn't agitate my skin or tingle any open pores and/or spots and does feel rather refreshing. As I have said it rinses off easily and then all that is left is to pat the face dry and get on with my day! Verdict: This is a really nice and easy to use everyday type of facial wash. Best used on a cleanish face because it isn't a make-up removing product though it does removes traces and grime with ease. It feels like it's cleaning when in use and when used skin is left feeling soft, smooth and supple and above all clean and fresh. It doesn't dry my skin out or make it feel greasy it simply gives it a quick clean with total ease. I have noticed since I have started to use it that my skin looks fresher and more rejuvenated and that I have less problems occurring on my face and this gets a bit thumbs up from me and cos I need so little of it, at about £3.50 a tube it offers superb value for money in my opinion! Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc. This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
