WHAT IS IT?
This is a serum that is made by Olay. It is called a 3 Point serum because it works on the face, neck and decolletage.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You apply a small amount to those areas and massage it in small circles until it has all sunk into your skin. You should use it after cleansing but before you apply moisturiser.
WHAT I THINK
I am not very happy with this serum because I think it does not do anything for me and I have used it on some of my ladies also and they are not happy with the effects of it either even though some of them use the Olay brand and have for many years.
It is quite pleasing to use but it does not sink into my skin as fast as other serums that I use, I like the smell because it is a little bit like fruit and flowers but that is not strong and I cannot smell it after I have finished applying it.
I used this serum for 6 weeks and I saw there was no effect on my skin except that my skin felt a little bit smoother after I had applied it so that when I applied my foundation over the top it gives me a smooth base and I felt like my foundation was being applied a lot easier. I do not think it made my foundation last for longer and that is a pity because it does not do anything for the way my skin feels but I would have liked the product better if it had had the effect of keeping my foundation in place for longer.
One of my ladies had a reaction to it and she said that it made her skin burn but when I emailed Olay about it they did not care and said the only thing to do was for her to stop using it and she had already done that.
I got my Olay serum from Boots and it cost £19.99, I think that is alot because it does not do anything to help my skin and I have got a half used up bottle left that I will not continue to use because I have many different serums that are alot more effective than this one.

~*~*~ Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Serum ~*~*~
Being at the grand old age of 24, I decided to start using a beauty serum. The main reason was because I had recently lost a lost of weight around my face and neck area, and this serum was specifically designed to firm skin. Before using this product my face care regime consisted of using a face wipe, applying a primer followed by a tinted moisturiser. This would be carried out every morning and the only kind of face care in the evening was using a face wipe (and sometimes a cleanser) to remove my make up. I was starting to find that my skin was getting particularly dry throughout the night and thought I should be using something more nourishing on my skin before I went to bed.
I have used a lot of Olay products and have always been impressed with the high quality. And because of this I didn't mind spending a little bit more money on this product.
~*~*~ What is it? ~*~*~
This is a beauty serum by Olay. It claims to dramatically firm the look of skin across the face, neck and chest (or décolletage zone). To use, you simply pump out a small amount of serum and rub on to your face, neck and chest area.
This serum comes in a 50ml, red, plastic bottle, with a silver, plastic lid. To dispense the product you need to push down on the pump mechanism. On the front of the bottle is the Olay logo, the products name, and what it does. The serum originally came in a small cardboard box, unfortunately this was thrown away a while a go but from memory I can remember it containing the following information: ingredients, how to use, what it is and the Olay logo.
~*~*~* Price and availability ~*~*~
I purchased this serum from Boots for £29.99 and you can also purchase it from Superdrug for the same price. I would recommend having a look on Ebay if you are considering buying this as I have seen them on there for around £18.00 (I will be buying my next bottle of Ebay).
~*~*~ My Thoughts ~*~*~
My first impressions of the serum was that the packaging looked very stylish and sophisticated. The red bottle looked great against the silver lid, which was contained in a cardboard box. I have no qualms about giving this as a gift, as it looks more expensive than it actually is. I have actually bought a few of these serums for different friends/family members and they have all been over the moon with the serum.
I use this serum twice a day, once in the morning and then in the evening, before bed. At both times I usually use a face wipe to begin with, to freshen up my face or remove my make up, and then apply this serum. I find that I need to dispense two pumps of this serum to get the right amount to cover my face and neck. I normally pump the serum on to the side of my hand, use my finger to dot it around my face and gently rub into my skin.
After I have applied the serum to my skin it takes a couple of second for it to sink into my skin and dry completely. Once it has dried my skin feels incredibly smooth and hydrated. I find this serum to be very moisturising and any dry patches of skin on my face vanish immediately. This serum does not leave any stickiness or dewiness on the skin. I have not found it to be too heavy on my face and I feel like it brightens up my complexion.
There is a very light floral fragrance to this serum, however it is not very noticeable and does not linger on the skin. I must say that I adore this serum. It leaves my skin looking noticeably tighter within a couple of weeks of using it (morning and evening use). My skin looks in much better condition and I rarely suffer from any dry patches of skin on my face. With regards to wrinkles, I don't seem to have many at the moment, so I can't really comment on how well it deals with them, but my mum uses this serum and she swears by it.
I have been using the same bottle of serum for around three months now and there is still plenty left. Because this serum is concentrated only a small amount of product is required.
~*~*~ Would I recommend? ~*~*~
Absolutely! I would definitely recommend this beauty serum. It has done wonders for my skin and I have been very impressed with the final results. The serum feels very creamy and luxurious on the skin, it dries very quickly and leaves my skin looking and feeling hydrated. I have even used this as a primer (as I ran out of my normal one) and it did a great job of making my make up last. This serum has tightened up some of the loose skin I had around my face and neck, which has really made me feel a lot better about myself. I think £29.99 is a reasonably price to pay for this miracle worker, however I think I will buy it of Ebay as it seems to be cheaper. Overall I am giving this product 5 out of 5 Dooyoo stars!
Thank you for taking the time to read my review :)
I'm a bit of a beauty addict and love to try out new products. I was lucky enough to receive a free sample of this Olay Regenerist 3-point Super Serum directly from Olay as part of a promotional campaign. You can find this product in most high street beauty stores and it costs RRP £29.99 for a 50ml bottle.
Product description: "Olay's most concentrated amino-peptide complex ever gives you firmer looking skin on the face, neck and décolletage.
+ Immediately hydrates to plump the skin for a lifted appearance.
+ After 5 days: dramatically firms the look of the skin most prone to sagging.
+ After 2 weeks: helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles."
Directions for use: Using your fingertips, massage 2 pumps of the serum on the face, neck and décolletage with circular motions every morning and evening.
I received a 7ml sample size tube of this product, which was enough to last me for exactly two weeks of using it day and night. I focused on using this mainly on my face rather than both my face and neck, so if you were going to apply over both areas this would not last you for quite so long. I was more interested to see if continued use would have a noticeable effect on my skin so stuck with using it only on my face to get a better test of the product and see how it worked for me. I was curious to see if the claims of drastic, visible improvements within just 2 weeks of use would prove to be true.
The full size version of this product comes in a bottle with a pump dispenser, but my smaller version is a simple tube with a screw-top lid. I found that it had a lovely consistency that was creamy but lightweight. Upon close inspection the serum does have a slight colour to it, with gold shimmer particles dispersed throughout, although this does not show up on the skin so it's safe to apply in the morning without ending up looking covered in glitter all day! It also has a light fragrance to it that I really liked, although I am not sure how suitable this would be for those with sensitive skins that require fragrance-free products. The serum spreads well over the skin but I did need to use a fair amount to get a good coverage, and my sample was only sufficient to provide me with enough contents for 2 weeks of use on my face. I can imagine that even a full-sized 50ml bottle would not be particularly long-lasting if it were applied as recommended to the face, neck and décolletage, at both morning and night.
After using this product I can only say that I was thoroughly disappointed in it. The product description states that you should see instant results as it hydrates to give a lifted appearance. I personally didn't notice any visible difference to my skin after applying the serum. It did sink fully into my skin and was absorbed quickly, so I feel like it does hydrate skin very quickly, although that did not lead to any obvious improvements. After 5 days you are then supposed to notice a dramatically firmer appearance of sagging skin. Again, I was not seeing anything different. My skin did not look firmer, nor was it firmer to the touch. Nevertheless I was still happy to give it the benefit of the doubt and hoped that extended, repeated uses would help the product to reach its full potential. However, after the full 2 weeks with twice daily applications I still didn't notice any visible changes in my skin whatsoever. By this stage, I should have seen a reduction to lines and wrinkles, but they are just as present and noticeable as usual. My skin has only just started to show the first signs of ageing within the past 1-2 years and my lines are very much in the small and shallow category, but seeing as this serum was not even effective enough to help improve my lines I have doubts about how well it would work on anyone older who really needs an effective anti-ageing product.
On the positive side, the serum did leave my skin with a velvety soft feeling directly after each application, and my face did feel smoother and moisturised. It was also nice and lightweight so did not leave my skin feeling overloaded or clogged up, which is essential for me as I have combination skin that can be prone to oily patches, and this can get worse with heavy night creams leading to blocked pores and spots. However, I do not think that this serum offered any benefits above and beyond what I would have got from using just a basic moisturising product. I feel it was a big let down considering that it claims to offer real results, and it really did not work on my skin. I would certainly not want to pay £30 for the full size version as there are plenty of other products out there that offer better results at a much lower price.
This Olay Regenerist 3-point Super Serum is not something I can recommend and I wouldn't bother to buy it for myself. I found the claims to be a typical example of over-inflated hype and in reality the product did not live up to my expectations, nor did it seem to have any real effect whatsoever. It earns the one star for being lightweight and providing gentle moisturisation, but even though my anti-ageing needs are somewhat minimal now (being in my late-20's) this was still not effective enough - I want results that I can see!
I had read a bucket load of excellent reviews on Olay's 3 Point Serum and so I was expecting good results. I do love Olay products (or Ulay as they used to be called) but I am feeling a little bit overwhelmed lately, as their range just seems to be getting bigger and bigger and I am even losing track of what I have used, and what I haven't yet tried.
I bought their 3 Point Serum from Sainsbury's about three months ago and as there was one third off the RRP I grabbed it while I could. The 50ml pump dispenser bottle normally sells at just over £30 but I managed to get mine with ten pounds off. I like the packaging, which is a rather stylish looking red bottle with a gold top and looks like it costs more than it actually does!
Now to how it works and what it feels like... I'm not impressed. Sorry folks, but I really do think this serum is totally overrated and over-hyped. I have used it now for several weeks, following the instructions that came with it. I apply two pumps of this both morning and evening (as well as using my normal moisturiser). It is transparent and of medium consistency and has a very slight aroma, which I cannot quite put my finger on. I apply it to the entire face, neck and décolletage and blend in using small, gentle, circular motions, as directed.
I absolutely hate the way this serum feels on my fingers as I blend it in. It feels tacky and gloopy and thick and it's not at all a pleasant sensation. I have mentioned this to friends who also use this product, and they have remarked that they don't find this is the case when they use it, so possibly it is just me being weird. It blends in well though, and after about three to four minutes my face no longer feels so tacky but I can just detect the serum still sitting on the surface of my skin, like it hasn't been absorbed properly. I have tried using less, and it's still the same. It's like wearing a permanent facemask - it feels horrible.
As far as rejuvenating and firming goes, well, I cannot honestly say I have noticed any difference at all. I use this serum in conjunction with other Regenerist products, as recommended, but I don't think I look any more youthful, line free, glowing or firmer than I did before. I really feel let down by this product and I seem to be in the minority as I have heard and read so many good reports about it.
Obviously I am going to continue to use it until the bottle entirely runs out. I am approximately two thirds of the way through now, I think, but it's hard to tell as I cannot see the contents inside. I definitely cannot recommend this serum, I feel very disappointed by it and have used cheaper serums from Superdrug which have been far more effective and a lot cheaper.
Olay Regenerist 3 Point super Serum
I do like to have a lot of skin care products tried and tested and to be honest I will often not buy the same one over and over again as I like to try all the new products that all the different companies bring out. This serum from Olay is a relatively new product on the shelves as when I first bought it a few months back it was on some sort of promotional offer and although the RRP is on the high side I found with the special offer that was on and my 10% discount that I can get in Boots it meant that that it bought it down into the (more or less) affordable skin care bracket.
Price and Avalibilty
Like I said when I first got this it was on a special offer and when Boots give out those £5 ladies facial skincare vouchers you can redeem it against this brand and they always seem to be handing those out. However I have just been into buy it and there is no special offer on and I wanted to use my points from my Advantage Card to buy it so I couldn't use any voucher or indeed my 10% discount and the price of £30.63 p was taken from my Advantage card, wiping the balance and in my opinion costing too much. I don't think I would have paid this full price out of my own proper money as it is expensive but getting it from the Advantage card almost feels like getting it for free!
The Olay brand can be found at a lot of different chemist and beauty shops so it is not hard to come by. The Boots stores obviously are the biggest stockist and even in the smaller Boots shops picking this is is no trouble. Having had a look online you might be able to pick it up a little bit cheaper but when you work out postage and packaging and the fact you wouldn't get any Boots points if you got it elsewhere it probably doesn't work out that much cheaper in the long run.
Look and Smell
The product comes housed within an outer card board box which shows a picture of what the bottle inside looks like. It tells you everything you would want to know on the front of the box such as it "dramatically firms the face, neck and décolletage". It says that the product is "super concentrated and has amino-peptide complex in". Which all sounds wonderful and does seem to sell the product slightly. The side of the box gives more detailed information on what you results you should expect to get immediately, after 5 days and after 2 weeks. The immediate results are and instantly plump and hydrates face which has a lifted appearance. After 5 days skin should look dramatically firmer and after 2 weeks you will look like a new born baby. No it doesn't say that but it does say that after 2 weeks fine lines and wrinkles will be reduced and younger looking skin should be apparent. Again all of this information would make any woman want to at least try it out.
The bottle inside the packaging is a red thick plastic pump action one. It has a nice silver lid which pops on and off easily and the design not only looks good but is practical to use too. There is 50ml of product inside the bottle but the only downside I can see with the design is that you cant see how much of the stuff is left in the bottle so you can't tell when you are coming to the end of it which is a little annoying. You can unscrew the pump nozzle though when you are nearing the end and keep the bottle upside down so that at least all of the serum inside can be used up without too much hassle or waste.
The serum that comes out of the bottle has a light golden colour to it and has a glittery type of translucent colour to it which makes it look expensive and luxurious. The smell is apparent as soon as some is removed from the bottle and it is a really fresh, feminine and sweet smell that I really like. It is not too strong that it irritates my sometimes sensitive skin and the fragrance seems to fade within a very short space of time. The shimmery colour that the serum has is only apparent when you have pumped it out and not something that you can notice once the serum has been applied and rubbed into the face area.
General use of the Product
There are basic instructions as to how best to use this Olay serum printed on the side of the outer box and this is really common sense. It does say that you will get better results if you follow this regime so it is really worth doing it the way they say or wrinkles will get you! It says that you should first cleanse your face (with any regeneriste cleaner of course) and then apply 2 pumps of this regenerist 3 point super serum using circular motions over the face, neck and decolletage. Finally you need to then massage the eye, jaw line and neck areas with the cream and hey presto your 10 years younger!
Of course it is not as instantaneous as all of this but following these steps helps you on the way to younger looking skin so it is well worth doing. The serum itself is easy to pump from the bottle and the two pumps that you are recommended to use glides across the skin and takes only a matter seconds before it has all soaked in and the skin begins to feel hydrated and healthy. I really like the way the product moves across the face and it feels like a little treat with every use. It is light in texture and not sticky at all. It has a very smooth feel to it that seems to give the skin a little barrier of protection but not so much that unless you were really taking notes (like I was for this review) that you would even notice it.
I can't say however that I did instantly notice any difference in my skins appearance but I can say that my skin did feel good and I really liked it. I made sure that I was regular in my use of this product because I knew how much it cost at the full price I thought I would really give it a regular use to be able to know exactly how well it did work. It must have taken around 2 months for the product to be entirely used up and I think that in itself shows good value for money as the two pumps really are enough to do the areas I wanted doing each day so a little of this product does do well at going a long way.
As with most of the skin care products that I buy, I wasn't expecting too much as most of them have so many claims and more often than not they never really live up to those claims. However I had to say that I was so impressed with this particular product which is why I have gone out and spent all of my Advantage Card points that I have been saving up for ages.
The results didn't happen at first but slow and surely I was noticing a really good improvement in the state of my skin. The fine lines that I was developing around my eyes were definitely going and my complexion looked clear and healthy in a way that it hasn't done for a long time. I do really think the fact that I stuck at using this product regularly really helped or at least really helped me notice that it was this product that was doing these things to my skin.
I had a few deeper lines around my mouth which is where I smile (laughter lines) and these didn't bother me too much but I did notice them. I found these too seemed less apparent after the weeks that I was using it and these are really the reason for me getting a second bottle because I am hoping to see whether these get any more improvement after another few weeks of continual use. WE shall see.
I have to say that I am so impressed with this serum and it is probably one that I shall continue to use again and again especially if these results continue. The only negative that I can see is the fact that it is very costly and unless there is a special offer on or I have a good amount of Advantage Card points then I can't see me buying it. I guess asking for it for a birthday or Christmas gift would be another way I could get it. But then again if something is this good I suppose I could justify it to myself and Himself!
The design of the bottle looks great and works well. The serum inside smells good and feels lovely on the skin and then the most important part is that the serum itself does actually improve the fine line and wrinkles of the skin whilst giving it a radiant look and super soft feel. I can't see what more you could want from a product that is designed to make the face look better as this is one product that seems to do all it claims to do.
A top score of 5 out of 5 stars and a very high recommendation is exactly what this product deserves and therefore what I shall award. So pleased with it!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
many thanks for taking the time to read.
When I was feeling a bit down and bloated a month or so ago, I found myself in Boots and decided to treat myself to some goodies to make me feel special! On offer was Olay Regenerist products, which were 3 for 2, and as I'd heard a lot of hype about this brand, I decided to try it out. Wow...I'm really glad I did because I am so impressed.
One of the items I bought in this 3 for 2 offer was Olay's 3 Point Serum - a 50ml bottle of which cost £31 (non-reduced price). Yes, it is expensive - but I am a firm believer in the idea that you get what you pay for and as I managed to get three products that should have cost £96 for £60, I was willing to part with my cash. As I said, you do get 50mls for that price which may not sound like a lot, but actually I've been using it for four weeks now and it feels like there is plenty left in the bottle.
The bottle is stylish but simple - consisting of a slim red bottle with the Olay logo on the front, and a silver cap with covers the push-down nozzle which releases the serum. There are instructions in the box which details how to use the serum. The instructions tell you to press the nozzle twice to receive the correct amount of the serum and then to use your fingertips to apply the serum to the face, neck and decolletage (in a circular motion) every morning and evening. Now, I have to admit that I only use one pump of the nozzle and I only apply the serum to my face and my neck once a day - and doing this has been enough to get desirable results. You really don't need that much of the serum at all - but maybe that's because my skin is in pretty good condition anyway and if you're skin isn't in such good condition you could do with using two squirts. I tend to put on the 3 point serum after I have moisturised (with the Olay Regenerist Daily Moisturiser - which I also love).
Putting on the serum is simple and it takes about a minute. The serum massages in very well and easily and leaves no greasy residue at all on the skin. As soon as I have put it on, my skin feels wonderful and so soft to the touch. It really does help to put me in a good mood for the day.
SO - I have now been using this product (well, 3 Regenerist products) for the last four weeks and my skin has really never looked better! My skin looks incredibly well hydrated and YOUTHFUL (yay!) and has a soft glow to it that I haven't had on my skin since I was twenty. My face and check, especially around my checkbones and chin area look more toned - and I honestly have lost all of the fine lines around my eyes that I had just a month ago!! It really is like magic.
I know that I can't get away from the fact that this product, especially when used in combination with the other Regenerist products, IS expensive and I'm not sure that I'll be able to buy it every month (although I'm certainly going to try!), but it really is fantastic and simply the best face treatment that I thought I would ever find. Seriously, if you can afford it then you need to get it because I promise you that you won't be disappointed.
I really wanted to try this new serum by Olay as I love all their other moisturisers and It looked really good. However it is a bit too expensive for me I think around £30? So I was fortunated enough to come accross a free sample on the internet. So I decided to order it.
The sample came in a simple plastic box but the actual moisturiser was very small. (A small tube about the size of my first finger) and it contains 7ml of product which isnt really alot.
OLAY claim that this serum dramatically firms the face, neck and decolletage. The product is a pearly white colour with silver reflexes it sort of looks like a highlighter. The smell is also lovely. Its very sweet and not to overpowering.
I take about a pea size amount on my fingertips then masage it into my face and neck concentrating most on the eye area as I have fine lines around there. Whilst masaging it into my skin I almost immediately noticed how soft my face was feeling. I was very pleasently surprised. I have been using this sparingly so It doesnt run out quickly! But it is good that you dont need alot of product to cover your whole face.
After I applied the serum I touched my skin and it was soo unbelievably soft and looked very youthful also it didnt feel saggy and a few of my fine lines looked less visible.
Overall I am very pleased with this serum from olay and I will deffinately give it 5 out of 5!
I HAVE USED OLAY PRODUCTS FOR AT LEAST TWENTY YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS.I LIKE TO TRY THE NEW PRODUCTS FROM OLAY AS MY SKIN AGES THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW TO HELP IMPROVE MY SKIN.I RECEIVED THE THE 3 POINT SUPER SERUM FREE SAMPLE A FEW WEEKS AGO, AND HAVE BEEN DELIGHTED WITH THE RESULTS.MY SKIN FELT SOFT AND FRIEND COMPLIMENTED ME SAYING MY SKIN LOOKED SMOOTH I WAS SORRY WHEN THE SAMPLE WAS USED UP AS MY SKIN FELT SMOTHER AND YOUNGER. THANK YOU FOR THE SAMPLE. I WILL BE BUYING THE 3 POINT SERUM IN THE FUTURE.
Olay 3 Point Super Serum
I received a sample of Olay's 3 point serum in the post yesterday and this is my account of how I found it after a 5 day use. As I don't think I will have enough for 2 weeks.
But first we will start with the packaging:
My sample came in a 7ml red tube. It was packaged in a small cardboard box, which to tell you the truth even though it is small, is still too big for the sample. I would have preferred a smaller box with a card explaining how it works and less packaging. (Saving the environment and all) On the front of the box is a picture of the larger bottle which is also red with the Olay logo. The actual tube is red with the Olay logo on and has a little grey lid.
What it claims:
On the front of the box it claims that it "Firms skin's appearance as well as the UK's most expensive serum costing over £340". Now I have not tried any face creams worth this amount but I am willing to try it to see if it works it sounds a very big claim to make. On the inside of the box it has 3 statements
1. Immediately hydrates to plump the skin for a lifted appearance.
2. After 5 days: dramatically firms the look of the skin most prone to sagging.
3. After 2 weeks: helps reduce appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, Dimethicone, Panthenol, Dimethicone crosspolymer, Polyrthylene, Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, Sodium hyaluronate, Camelia sinensis extract, Trocopheryl acetate, Carnosine, Butylene glycol, Allantoin, Mica, Dimethiconol, Tocopherol, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-4, Laureth-7, Citric acid, Benzyl alcohol, PEG-100 stearate, DMDM hydaantoin, Methylparben, BHT, Disodium EDTA, Tin oxide,Titanium dioxide, Parfum, Alpha - Isomethly Ionone, Benzyl salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronello, Hexyl cinnamal, Iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, Limonene, Linlool. WOW. What a load of ingredients. I know that I don't know what the majority of them are but I know that some people like to know what is in the product (allergies and all) so I have included them in this write up.
Directions on how to use:
On the product itself it states that you should - "Using your fingertips massage 2 pumps of the serum on the face, neck and décolletage (sorry no idea what that is) with circular motions every morning and evening".
I am starting this at night as I only got it through the door yesterday. (And I'm writing this the day after) I wash my face as I usually would at night although it does not state this. I then use the product. It is a serum in colour and feels very soft on the end of my finger, I dab the serum on to various parts of my face staying away from my eyes like it states. I then rub the serum in, in circular motions also like it states. It smells nice like other Olay products I have tried. (That common Olay smell) It doesn't feel greasy and is very easy to use. It moves over my face with ease and sinks into my skin very well. I get into bed and can smell the product but I don't feel sticky using it and have no fear of transfer on to the bedding.
I wake up and my skin feels softer than usual, especially at the moment with it being winter. I have a nightmare with my skin feeling dry and becoming greasy. I do my usual routine and the again reapply the serum. Apart from noticing that my skin is softer I haven't noticed any other changes at the moment.
My skin is feeling soft still and I noticed that it didn't get as greasy when I applied my makeup yesterday. I don't use other creams in the morning as I do suffer from greasy skin but I am keeping to what the tube says and applied my makeup as usual. In the afternoon when I usual re apply my makeup that I noticed I wasn't greasy, Fantastic.
My partner gave a fleeting comment on how soft my skin was on my face (fleeting - u know how men are) I've also noticed how much firmer my skin is starting to feel. I don't have any real lines or wrinkles but I'm only 28 so I shouldn't really. But I'm hoping this is going to help me in the future as well as now.
Well the tube has lasted with a little to spare, so I'm over the moon. Only problem is I'm now going to have to go and buy the product as I don't want to lose my soft skin.
Over all review:
I'm ecstatic about this product, the best moisturiser / firming serum that I have ever used. It smells great, makes your skin soft, is non-greasy and is easy to get your hands on in the shops / online. Costing £29.99 at boots is not that expensive, we are all trying to cut back on spending but I think the benefits of this product outweigh the price.
Also on the Olay website there is additional information on how the cream works and methods on application as well as helpful hints and tips.
After 5 days I have noticed the softness of my skin (I know that I keep saying it but it's so true) and it feels tighter and firmer, although I don't have wrinkles I feel as if this product is helping in defeating a problem before it starts.
I've just noticed that i have called the serum a cream in some places in this review, i have altered the majority but i want you to know i am talking about the serum.
This reveiw is also on Ciao under my user name lezajohnson
Olay is the product I trust most when it comes to my skincare regime. I have used their products for years and I get really good results so have always been happy with them.
Olay was first produced in South Africa. It has been a Procter and Gamble product since 1985 and became one of their Billion dollar brands in 2003. Apparently the name Oil of Olay was chosen by the producer (a chemist called Graham Wulff) because it was a spin off of the word Lanolin which was the key ingredient.
Lanolin is used in the production of many cosmetics and lotions etc perhaps it is easily absorbed by the skin. It actually comes from wool bearing animals such as sheep and is secreted from their glands. (Eww, when you actually think or read what goes into make ups and lotions etc you would never want to use them!!)
Olay has come a long way since the early days when it was just a pink liquid in a jar. When I was younger the basic beauty fluid was good enough for my youthful skin but now I'm older and more concerned about wrinkles I've had to up the wrinkle power by turning to some more of their stronger products.
The regenerist range is, "for noticeably younger looking skin without drastic measures." They have a number of different products in this range including creams, serums, lip treatments, etc and is one of their more pricey ranges. However, this range has won numerous beauty awards and in my opinion is actually very good. I already use the regenerist replenishing cream and recently received a trial size of their 3 point super serums in the post so have been using it ever since. I have used serums in the past and really like the way they make my skin feel so was excited to try this trial size, especially as it was from Olay and because it was free!!
This serum is basically a firming tool. The three points that this serum is said to target are the three hard to treat areas, the face, the neck and the decolletage for firmer looking skin. Whenever you read the beauty pages you will know that these are the areas that show up ageing first, think saggy necks and wrinkly bust area!
This serum is said to make you experience younger looking skin in a matter of weeks and will immediately hydrate to instantly plump the skin for a lifted appearance. I have used it for a number of weeks, not every day though as I feel this would be too much for my skin and I do like the effect it had on my skin. I don't really have too much saggy skin yet so I can't speak about the firming qualities on my skin but I did notice a brightness in my face and I think with long term use this will probably firm up my skin nicely. The serum contains Olay's most concentrated amino-peptide complex and a sophisticated and highly effective multi-faceted turgor boost. I'm not exactly sure what these are to be honest but I guess they sound good and enable Olay to charge a lot of money although according to some information I have read on this serum a lot of science has gone into the production of this product.
Apparently, in independent clinical tests, the new super serum was proven to provide firmer looking skin in just 5 days. The tests involved Olay Scientists who conducted a 5 day clinical study, using an internationally recognised skin firmness measure - the cutometer. Using real women, all aged 35 years old and over, this was perhaps the ultimate torture test because Olay tested it not simply on the face, but on all 3 key areas of firming concerns - the face, neck and décolletage. The results were clear cut with statistically significant firmness appearance improvement.
The article went on to say that, "Anastasia Achilleos, the renowned celebrity facialist, consulted with Olay scientists during the early development process for 3 point super serum - and she now recommends it, along with her bespoke massage, as an essential part of any skincare routine. Anastasia says: "I would recommend any woman who is thinking about taking the big step of having a cosmetic procedure to try the latest anti-ageing treatments first. Of course it's not a procedure but I'm really impressed with the anti-ageing results you can see after using the Olay super serum - so I'd definitely say give this a go first!"
Now, and here's the bad point, the serum is very expensive. A 50ml bottle costs £29.99 and Olay say that for even better results you should combine this with Regenerist 3 Point Super Serum treatment cream so if you want to do that you also have to factor in that cost. I would say though that I just have a little trial size and this has lasted for quite a few weeks although I don't use it everyday. This serum does go a long way when you apply it to your face. I really only use a pea size amount and am able to smooth all of that over my face as it rubs over well but if you think about the cost compared to a wrinkle free face well then that's a decision you need to take seriously!
Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Serum, 50 ml.
It is priced at £29.99 and is exclusive to Boots.com.
The wait is over... Olay have finally bought out the follow-up serum to their hugely popular 3 Point Treatment Cream. The cream has won various awards since its release, and the 'Super Serum' is rumoured to be just as good as its predecessor.
I have bought a couple of nice cleansers from the Regenerist range, although tend to bypass their 'lotions and potions' as they can be quite expensive, and being 25, I don't really benefit from them enough to be able to justify the price.
I received this cream as a free sample a few weeks ago; I hadn't heard of the 3 Point Cream so had no idea what to expect from the serum.
Opening it, I see that it is a very fine, pearly white serum; it has quite an intense shimmer to it, it reminds me of the shimmer you find in those skin brightening radiance creams you can buy. It has a lovely rich smell to it; it smells just like the Regenerist cleansers I have, so it could be that the entire range has this scent.
Massaging the serum in is actually quite a nice experience; it is really soothing and you feel like you are really treating your skin.
For those of you that don't know, the difference between a serum and a cream is that a serum is generally lighter than a cream as it is water based rather than oil and water based. The ingredients are also more concentrated in a serum and the particles are finer which means that a serum is usually more effective than a cream and will sink in faster.
Although, as far as I am aware, there are no set guidelines for manufacturers of creams and serums, so this may not be true of all products.
After applying the serum my skin feels really soft, clean, and generally quite healthy. The product really benefits my skin and the softening effects last all day. I have used this regularly and find that the serum has had a lasting effect on my skin so it is now always reasonably soft, which was definitely not the case before!
My skin also looks better; it used to be quite dull, but now seems to have a healthy glow and is in a much better condition than it was before I began using the serum.
I am really impressed by this serum. The only other serum I've used is No 7's Perfect and Protect Serum, which is a pretty amazing serum, but (and I'm really surprised that I'm saying this!) I actually prefer this one! There is not a huge difference between the two, although Olay's Super Serum has a lovely smell and just feels nicer to apply so it just beats the No 7 version.
Unfortunately the quality is reflected in the price.
I was actually quite shocked when I looked up the price of it (£29.99), although this is for 50ml, which actually works out cheaper than the No 7 version that I have previously bought.
I would be more inclined to buy it if it came in a smaller bottle, as the initial outlay is quite a lot to pay. Saying this, serums do tend to last a very long time (probably 4-6 months for a 50 ml bottle) as you don't need to use too much; so if you work out the weekly cost, it really isn't that expensive.
I will definitely continue to use the serum; I'll just have to wait until payday to buy it!
If you are interested, Olay are giving out free 7ml samples of the serum. Just visit

I would highly recommend ordering a sample of Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Serum. It really is a great product, and while the price may put you off, a free sample will let you see for yourself whether it really is worth the price.
