Olay Regenerist Thermal Skin Polisher
Advantages: Leaves your skin feeling amazing!
Disadvantages: None for me
I first tried this product when it had just come out, over three years ago. I had a voucher from Boots that included Olay products and at the time, this product was less than £5 as it was an introductory offer so effectively this was a freebie.
Olay Regenerist Daily Thermal Skin Polisher is a self-heating exfoliating treatment that scrubs and softens leaving your skin feeling smoother than a babies backside!
It comes packaged in a 125ml expensive looking black tube with a flipped top lid and costs £5.99 in Boots. It has a lovely foil effect around the middle of the tube which shines different colours in the light, this is what first attracted me to this product as it looked special.
The packaging claims that with regular use of this product you will achieve the look of a mini peel and your skin will look "polished and vibrant". The contents of the tube are self-heating once applied to the skin and Olay advise this is due to the water-activated formula.
The Skin Polisher is a very light lilac colour with a slight scent, it's constancy is a bit paste like. You need only a pea sized amount that you'll smooth into your face and neck after wetting your face with water. As the product touches your skin it starts to heat. I was sceptical at first thinking you wouldn't really feel any heat from this product but i was wrong, it gets nice and warm and its a lovely comforting feel on your face. You should gently work the product over your face and neck rubbing the product in a circular motion. You can feel the small grains in the product and it's a slight abrasion that really feels like it's working on removing dirt and grease from the surface of your skin.
After patting your face dry, this product leaves your skin feeling amazing. I can honestly say I haven't used any other product that leaves my skin feeling this soft. As it exfoliates, you don't have to use this daily, I tend to use it about once a week to give my face a nice deep cleaning scrub and it feels like it removes the top layer of skin pain free! That's why I think this product claims to leave you with the feeling of a mini peel.
I have very sensitive skin and a lot of products sting and burn my face especially around my eyes and it can be really sore and uncomfortable but this one doesn't affect me negatively at all. It can be a little pricey at £5.99 a tube when not on offer but you only need to use a tiny amount so it's totally worth the price in my opinion. Unlike a lot of cleansing products out there this one really does live up to the manufactures claims and therefore gives you faith in the brand.
This product has been dermatologically tested and is suitable for all skin types, it contains alcohol so be careful using it around your eyes. I have accidentally got some of this in my eye once and it was very painful probably due to the little scratchy exfoliating beads!
I would highly recommend this product, I'll certainly continue to buy it as I couldn't be happier with the results and think its worth every penny!
