Oriflame Optimals Oxygen Boost Face Mask
Advantages: Easy to remove and noticeable results
Disadvantages: A lotion rather than a mask
**The face mask**
I love face masks and so I am always on the lookout for something new. When I was browsing the Oriflame catalogue I came across this and decided I was going to buy it. There were a number of different variations available, so I went with the oxygen boost as it promised to help with any skin pollution. It also promised to suit all face types which attracted me as it saved me the trouble of searching for one to suit my combination skin which sometimes can be difficult to do. It comes in an easy to use squeeze tub. The face mask dispenses well from the small hole in the top of the tube meaning I can be applied very easily, without being very messy. The consistency is thick and creamy so you do only need to apply a small amount. I found that it is very easy to spread the cream over the face evenly.
There were no instructions as the back of the tube is all in a foreign language. This made it a bit of a guessing game for me, and so I decided to use it the way I would any other mask, smoothing the product over the whole of my face avoiding eyes and mouth. I had just cleansed my face previously as I always do before I use a face mask. There is a scent to this face mask and this is noticeable from the moment you open the bottle. I am not too keen on face products with an intense smell as of course sitting on my face it is a lot more noticeable than those for other parts of my body. It's a pleasant floral fragrance and I am happy to say once removed from my face the scent disappears quickly.
**In use and results**
Applying the mask is very easy to do and although there were no instructions I just smoothed a small layer over my face. As soon as the cream touched my face I could feel a tingling sensation which I do like it a face mask as I can feel it is working. This did go away after around five minutes so it is not a constant feeling the whole time wearing the mask. The thing that confused me a little was that I was expecting this to be a face mask. I sat for twenty minutes waiting for it to begin to dry with no success. I wondered if I maybe put too much of the product on my face, and as there are no directions on the bottle I decided to Google. As I had thought people said that it is more of a lotion than a mask which I was a little disappointed about. I like face masks to harden a little as I feel like they are working more then so this is something you need to take into consideration if you are thinking of purchasing.
As it is just a lotion the face mask comes away very easily. I just washed my face with warm water and the product came away fairly easily. This is a major plus for me as I hate masks that are a pain to completely remove. After that I simply patted my face dry with a towel and began inspecting the results. I have combination skin and I found this to work rather well. There was definitely an improvement in my skin after I applied it. I found I to both feel softer, but also make it a little more radiant. I found there was no drying of the skin at all, and generally it seemed to do a really good job. Usually with things that state it will suit all skin types it works well on my oily t - zone, while leaving the rest of my face really dry so I was impressed. I tend to leave it a few weeks between using this product sometimes longer as it is not one of my favourites. I do find that it works just as well each time it is used rather than becoming ineffective. Also the difference in my skin is noticeable for a few days which I think are fairly good. I leave the face mask on for the recommended 15 minutes, but I do find this a little too long. I like laving face masks on for a long period, but this feels strange because of the consistency.
This is not my favourite face mask just because it is not a mask as such. I find it to be more of a lotion as it does not dry on your skin, and although it does have advantage I really don't like it. I prefer something that sets on my face a little rather than sitting with a cream on my face for large amounts of time. It does provide good results making my skin feel and look a little healthier, but again it is not outstanding in that department either. I do like it as it promises to be for all skin types and seem to work well on my combination skin, but I still will not be rushing out to purchase it again. As it is a 75ml tube lasts a fair amount of time as I have used this number of times and there I still half a tube left. To purchase on the website it is £11 for this face mask, but I purchased while it was on sale at £5 which I think is amore reasonable price.
Summary: An average face mask
