Definitely buy if you can afford it

One of my resolutions is to finish every half used up tub and jars of all my toiletries. I have a plastic box brimming with gifts that I've received, products that I have opened and forgotten about, so I decided instead of wasting them, I should use them up before buying another and that's where I discovered Origins Ginger Souffle lurking.

I remember buying this in John Lewis, a while ago as a bit of a pick me up, as I love ginger and I have to say I was persuaded by the sales assistant. It comes in a simple but stylish white plastic pot with jazzed up writing on and in case, the only souffle that you have ever heard of, is food, then it promises a lightly whipped body cream.

When you open the pot, the fragrance instantly hits you, it is ginger but not overwhelming due to the citrus scent of bergamot, lemon and lime. I find the scent really stimulates me and wakes me up.

I really like the consistency of the cream, souffle really describes it, it is soft and light, reminding me of whipped cream. I normally don't have the time to use body butter or the like but I find this instantly absorbs into my skin and doesn't leave it greasy but subtle, soft and smelling good enough to eat.

I do think it is expensive for what it essentially is but if I could afford to use it daily, then I would. It cost £21 for 200ml and can be found on most Origins counters in department stores.

        sheer luxury

I have used Origins products for the past three years appprox, but only tried this body moisturiser at the end of last year. My sister brought me a gift set that had this and the matching shower gel in it.

This moisturiser is fantastic! it smells gorgeous and the smell actually lasts a short while unlike most moisturisers (especially twinned with the shower gel which is apparantly called 'layering' scents by the salesperson). It soaks in very fast and left my skin feeling very smooth and silky. My legs can be quite dry from my hair removal products and this really helped re applying every other day.

The only down side is the cost. I would never have actually brought this product for myself never having used it before but now I would as I do think it is worth the money. At christmas John Lewis did have a super size of this which worked out good value for money but it was so large I feared it would go off before I got through it!

Currently at Origins own website it's selling at £21 for 200ml but I noticed the other day that Boots has started selling online. So at Boots.com it's the same price but you get 84 advantage cards points (if you have a card) and if you buy 3 or more Orgins products you get a free skincare trio.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Gorgeous gift, but too pricey for daily treat

One of my new year's resolutions this year was to reduce the number of half used up jars in the bathroom by using each one in turn and in no circumstances open up a new jar before using one up. Hmmm - all very well in practice, but last week I was having a bad day and saw this jar tempting me from my cupboard full of unopened goodies.

Now, I love Origins and the ginger range in particular and one lovely friend bought me this gift as a spot of indulgence. I knew as soon as I saw the lovely white heavy plastic pot with its funky writing promising a whipped body cream I knew I was in for a treat.

When you open the pot, you instantly get a waft of the gorgeous scent - as the name would suggest, it is primarily ginger, but also with a citrus lift of lemon, lime and bergamot. The smell is really uplifting and brings a smile to my face and a great way to start the day.

The cream itself is really light and creamy to apply - the description "souffle" is very apt as the cream does really remind me like a light gingery lemon dessert. As I usually use a body butter, this light cream is a really refreshing change. There is no rubbing to get the cream to absorb in to the skin - it just almost instantly disappears into the skin leaving it silky soft and smelling oh so good.

On to the only negative the product - the price. At £21 for 200ml it is an expensive treat, but such a lovely gift, so I intend to indulge and enjoy and suggest, if you can a chance, you do the same!
