      Essential beauty regime product

I have recently started using Origins products and this has to be my favourite!

The product description says that Night-A-Mins "Helps the appearance of dullness" and "Helps the slumber deprived wake up on the bright side of the bed", and I couldn't agree more.

It is quite a thick cream and it goes on your skin completely different to how you imagine. As soon as it goes on your skin it soaks in and your skin feels instantly hydrated; unlike other night creams it does not feel like it is just sitting on your skin.

The best part is waking up the following morning with soft, glowing, healthy looking skin. I also think that Night-A-Mins helps even up skin tone and reducing any red marks/scars from previous spots.

I would highly recommend this product, especially along with other Origins products like VitaZing for the day, and super spot remover for any blemishes. Oh and there's also the added bonus of the luscious smell!

It's not the cheapest moisturiser at over £30 a pot, but it is more than worth it!

A rich night cream from Origins

Apparently, night time is a critical time for your skin - it is only able to heal and renew itself overnight while you sleep, which is where the phrase "beauty sleep" comes from! Bearing that in mind, to make the most of this I like to use a night cream once a week to give my skin a little boost and Origins Night-A-Mins is my current favourite. It's packed with vitamins including vitamin A, B-complex, C and E, as well as exfoliating extracts and minerals to help your skin repair damage done during the day and to renew itself overnight. The formula was improved a little while ago to cram in even more vitamins and minerals!

I love the packaging for this - it comes in a 50ml pot designed to look like a pill bottle - the orange glass and white lid. I usually find Origins packaging to be minimalistic and just practical, but this has an added quirkiness. It comes in two forms - a cream recommended for dry/combination skin, and a lotion for sensitive/combination skin. Apparently combination skins can choose from either - I prefer a cream to a lotion so as they are exactly the same price this is my choice.

The cream itself is very thick and rich and you only need a very small amount to cover your face. Despite being so thick, it is easily absorbed into the skin and doesn't feel as if it's sitting on top of it, clogging your pores, as it can do with heavy creams.

The best thing about this product though is the smell - it contains vanilla oils, valerian, neroli and orange, and it's the orange that really comes through. At first I found this odd for a night cream, as I normally find citrus smells to be refreshing rather than sleep inducing, but the vanilla seems to soften it and the smell is very relaxing. Origins do place a lot of emphasis on aromatherapy with their products and do claim that this will help you sleep. I'm not convinced of that, but it is certainly lovely and relaxing and as a lavender hater I'm glad they didn't try to scent it with that just to aid sleep!

The effect this has on my skin is wonderful. When I wake up in the morning I can really tell that I've applied this the night before - my skin is soft as a baby's and looks positively glowing. Because I find this so rich and has such an intense effect on my skin, I don't like to use it too often - I find once a week is more than enough. One thing I love about Origins is that they manage to cram loads of their products with really gentle exfoliators so that the 'dead' layer of skin is removed without any abrasive scrubbing. Who'd have thought a cream could be an exfoliator?!

Like all Origins products this isn't particularly cheap - it will set you back £26.43 for a 50ml bottle, which tends to last me about a year and a half. Origins are great though for giving sample products so it's well worth sampling this before buying. They also do a Night-a-Mins eye cream which I've not tried as my eye area doesn't really need this yet, but I'll definitely be giving it a go in about 10 year's time! You can get hold of Origins products from Origins stores, John Lewis, Boots' online store, or www.origins.co.uk.

I received a 15ml sample bottle of ?Night-a-mins? when I purchased another Origins product. One thing I think is great about the Origins range (there?s loads of things!) is that they give out really decent sizes in testers. I used this sample every night after receiving it and it lasted me almost 3 months, as you really only need a little bit every night. After that ran out I bought a full size jar and I can see this lasting a very long time. TEXTURE ?Night-a-mins? is a fairly thick liquid, white in colour. It?s not as thick as some products, but it?s thick enough that you don?t need to use a lot each time. A small blob on your fingertip will cover your whole face. Once it's on your face you can't really feel it, it doesn't feel like it's clogging up all your pores and preventing them from having access to the air! SMELL This lotion has a refreshing citrus aroma to it, which sneaks up your nostrils the moment you unscrew the lid. The main ingredients listed are: Valerian, Orange, Neroli and Vanilla. I only know what two of those are, but I would certainly say the orange is the most noticeable. It?s not the kind of smell that will keep you awake once you?ve applied it, as I find it very relaxing and probably does the opposite, it sends you to sleep! Even my boyfriend has commented on the lovely smell (and that?s coming from a bloke eh!) WHEN TO USE IT Well, I think this is probably quite obvious! It claims that it will help ?to build strong skin while you sleep? and I truly believe that it does just that! THE CONTAINER I?m a real snob when it comes to containers and packagin
        g. If it doesn?t look right then I won?t want to pick it up and use it every day will I?! I love this container, I just think Origins are really quirky in their packaging and the names they give to their products. This product ?Night-a-mins? has been cleverly packaged in a brown glass jar with a big green label on the front, much like a Vit-a-min bottle, get it? ;) I just think it looks expensive, and I know that?s not all that matters, but I think it counts for something when you?ve paid all that money that the product looks the part and it REALLY does work. RESULTS The description on the bottle states: ?Breathe deeply as you apply a dab to clean skin, allowing the hypnotic aromas of nature?s nightcaps to post their ?do not disturb? signs on stress and tension? I believe it does all this and more! It certainly helps to relax me as I love the zesty orangey smell. I don?t know how someone would react to this if they didn?t like oranges though. It?s not exactly a smell as strong as when you peel oranges, but it is certainly distinctive. I don?t have massive problems with my skin, but on occasions it can be slightly dry, and oily in other places if I forget to apply various lotions and potions to it. I leave the bottle of ?Night-a-mins? next to the bed so that I don?t forget to put it on every night, and I have put it on every night since I got the sample through to buying the full size product recently and it seems to have kept my skin lovely and soft (along with other Origins products). I?m not sure if it?s directly linked but I?ve had less breakouts recently *touch wood* FOR WHICH SKIN TYPES? ANY! Although make a note that if you have
dry skin Origins recommend you buy the cream version, and if you have sensitive skin they recommend the lotion version. I have combination skin and they state that combination is suited to both the cream and the lotion, so it?s really up to you. I chose the lotion because I?d got on so well with the lotion sample I thought, why change? PRICE AND AVAILABILITY £22.50 for 50ml. Ouch! (I hear your wallet cry) but trust me on this one?.I reckon this 50ml jar will last me over a year. Origins is not sold in very many places. At present I can only get it from John Lewis in Bristol and the Origins shop in Bath.
