I picked up this spot balm for just one pound from Tesco.
The balm comes in a 50ml tube and on the reverse of the tube is the usage instructions. It says that you are supposed to use this in conjunction with the other products from the Oxy range but you don't HAVE to use it this way. I use it after cleansing and toning my face. The balm is easy to dispense from the tube, although the tube is a little flimsy.
The balm is an off white colour and it has a sort of masculine scent to it that reminds me of aftershave. This product is designed for the guys though! The balm has a creamy consistency that's just a little bit thinner than regular moisturiser. The balm spreads well onto the skin and it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky and/ or tacky. It doesn't leave a nasty residue on your skin after use either.
The balm can be applied as often as required but it can dry your skin out if it's used too much. I stick to using the balm every other day or so. The balm gets to work straight away and it really helps to reduce the irritation caused by spots and/ or blemishes. It's a great spot remedy and it's not too harsh on the skin either, apart from being a little drying. The smell of the balm can linger on your face for a while after use but it's not too strong. Other people wouldn't be able to smell it.
Not bad for a pound, although that was an introductory offer!
Oxy spot balm comes in a small tube, and is inverted with the lid on the bottom which is nice as the balm (thanks to gravity) will just drop down and will make squeezing easier when it is near the end, and also the tube is made of a flexible bag-like plastic which makes squeezing really easy.
~~~APPEARANCE, TEXTURE, SMELL AND USING THE PRODUCT~~~
The spot balm is white in colour and is really creamy and nourishing. It is really smooth and milk like and feels cool and soothing when applied to the skin. It also feels really calming to the skin, and smells fantastic too... It isn't really a natural or floral smell, rather synthetic actually, but it is a pleasant and "addictive" smell.
After using the product, spots do seem to be calmed, well at least skin feels good after use. However I am less wowed by its ability to treat and prevent blackheads from forming. I am still yet to find a good blackhead treating product!! (Please help if you know any really good ones!)
I bought this during Boot's buy one get one free on Oxy range offer and got four things for under £10, which was awesome value. I think, though, that without offer it is just under £5.
I really like using the product, and it does seem to have some effect on spots, although not quite as amazing for blackheads as it seems to advertise. I would recommend this product as it is extremely soothing and gentle, and feels great on the skin. It is a tad expensive, and it probably is NOT worth it unless you have tried the product and knows it works for you.
They have recently also been giving away free samples so you might want to check their website and see if its still on, and get some to see if it works for you!
