“ Brand: Oxy / Type: Facial Wash / Suitable for: Face „
I recently received a sample of this product kindly sent to me by OXY so that I could try it and see whether it suited my skin and I have been using the product for the about the last fortnight. I have in the past found it hard to find a face wash which a) doesn't react badly with my skin, b) leaves my skin feeling fresh c) is not overly expensive and d) is not embarrassing for a guy to buy himself.
I have to say that this product didn't let me down on either of these four points.
The first time I used this product I have to admit that my face was tingling slightly but at no point was this tingling an uncomfortable or unpleasant feeling like other reviews have suggested - it was really more of a clean and refreshing sensation which I actually quite liked. And after about a week of using the product I noticed that my skin was clearer and much less greasier than it had been before. The pores on my nose which quite often get clogged with dirt appeared smaller as well.
What I really liked about the product is that it lathers nicely. I have tried other washes before which just stay as a gel or a cream and they are always disappointing. When a product lathers, you can almost feel it working as it foams on your face and straight away you feel cleaner - this product does this excellently.
The micro beads also play an important part in exfoliating the skin. The great thing is that they exfoliate your skin gently and aren't gritty like many washes I have tried in the past which can leave you feeling a bit sore to say the least.
One of the biggest pluses of this product, other than the fact it works so well, is that as a man you wouldn't be embarrassed to go out and buy this product for yourself and the fact that it is a man's product is shown most importantly in the packaging, which manages to be very eye-catching and appealing in a masculine way with the black, silver and blue.
The smell of the product also will appeal to men - it smells neither overly-medicated nor overly-flowery but instead has a pleasant smell which falls in line with what you would expect a man's product to smell like, almost like a mild aftershave smell.
The biggest downside which many will find with the product is undoubtedly the price - at around £4.50 for 125ml it might seem very expensive, especially at a time when people are trying to save money, but I actually disagree. Consider all the points made above and the quality of the product - you are getting the best for your skin and OXY is one of the market's leading brands. Also bare in mind that for each wash you only need to use a small amount of product - the 30ml sample which I received has lasted me a fortnight, so a 125ml tube could easily last a month and a half (obviously depending on the amount you use and how often you use it). Not bad value at all!
Well, that pretty much sums it up. I have tried to think of some downsides, but to be quite honest, from my experience, I really cannot think of any and that's why I give the product the rating I have given.
This was the first product ever to completely eradicate all my spots. I am 27 and have suffered from fairly bad acne ever since my teens. I used it morning and night for approximately 3 months and thought that I had found the miracle cure. My skin was completely blemish free. Three months in and within a very short space of time, I noticed that the skin around my nose was getting a bit dry. When this happened I cut back to using it only once a day and completely avoiding the problem area. A week later I had stopped using it all together as the skin was now starting to go sore and red. Five months on and I am still suffering from sore red skin. I now wash only with water and slap loads of E45 on my face afterwards but it is still as bad as before. I have previously never suffered from sensitive skin but if you do I would seriously recommend that you avoid this product like the plague otherwise your face will start to look like you have caught it.
I recieved a free sample of this not long ago. It was enough for about 8 washes which was reasonable enough. I have oily skin and I'm male so I thought why not apply for the sample. You don't need to use much of the product so it lasted a while. I ended up buying the actual product.
The first thing you'll notice when you put it on your face is the tiny little beeds, something I tend to like as they usually leave your skin smooth afterwards. When it is on your face it feels... minty? One thing I definitely noticed is that any spots I did have seemed to have been dried out after using it. I actually had 1 spot before going for a shower, used this product and as I was getting changed I was surprised at where it had gone. I thought it must have been my imagination that it was there in the first place! They just sort of begin to flake off and are far less noticeable.
I avoided using it on my nose area where I have really dry skin as I feared it would dry it out far too much. Although I decided to go for it a few days later and try it, my skin was fine, if not less dry!
When you apply it to your face you should leave it on for a couple of minutes, this way you get a better effect because as it says, male skin is generally thicker so it gives it time to fully clean the skin.
As good as it sounds it does have its flaws. It is very expensive for the size of the tube. 125ml for £4 odds? Maybe one to miss unless it is on sale. It didn't seem to do much to blackheads like it says it will, blackheads are the same as they were before the wash. It stings! If you have any shaving wounds still open it can be quite uncomfortable.
Overall it seems to work better than most of the face washes I have used in the past which just made me come out in even more spots. I do recommend you try it if you suffer from acne and are a teenage male. Although I must mention I've been using this in combination with taking minocin which is a prescribed medicine for acne and retin - A gel which is also for ache. I have no idea how it performs on female skin but then I guess there is no harm in trying if you feel like you are totally giving up on trying to find the right product.
this product claims to do alot. The tube says it helps prevent spots, blackheads & oily skin and kills spot-causing bacteria, is suitable for sensitive skin and reduces excess oil, redness and removes dead skin. I thought this product sounded great.
Apparently designed specifically for make skin, and seeing it was on a two for one offer, i grabbed it up to see how well it worked. the first thing i noticed, which almost put me off buying, what the size of the tube. At £4.50, i expected a large amount, but oh well, it was two for one!
How well it worked: I used this product in conjunction with Oxy pads. I didn't see a huge improvement in my skin. My spots vary a lot fro time to time, and during the time i was using it, i did get new spots. I however didn't get a big flare up, which may or may not be due to the treatment.
Overall i think that the product is not worth the expensive price tag. At that price, i would expect to be blown away by the product, and i was not.
I bought this because of the advert, and in it it said that it was specially designed for male skin. I have been searching for a product that suited me for a long time, and so i gave this one a shot.
I bought it at Boots buy one get one free, so ended up with a whole set of Oxy for just over £10, which is a fab deal... just hope it was worth it..
I have been using it for about a month now. At first, the texture of the facewash was really quite rough because of the microbeads, and it takes time to get used to. I bought the scrub aswell which was even more coarse, but after about 2 weeks, your skin gets used to it, and it is quite comfortable on your skin.
After washing, you genuinely feel like it has cleaned your face. It is somewhat effective against giving you a better complexion, but not as good as i expected. It is also somewhat ineffective against blackheads, and whiteheads.
For a general clean, this may be THE product, but if you suffer from spots, acne, blackheads and so on, maybe give this a pass, as it doesn't do the job very well.
Oxy is specifically engineered fo help deal with male skin prone to spots and blackheads, Oxy has a four way action that is uniquely designed to tackle spots, balckheads and oily skin / Removes dead skin, kills spots causing bacteria, reduces excess oil, and reduces redness /
