Advantages: lovely smell and, good for soft skin and containing stretchmarks
Disadvantages: doesn't abolish stretchmarks completely!
Ahh the beauty of Palmer's Cocoa butter was my favourite when I was pregnant. With what felt like a never ending bump growing before me I wanted a cream which was soft, moisturising and good for my skin's elasticity.
Originally derived from extracts of the cocoa bean this cocoa butter has a lovely aroma of subtle chocolate which was one of the more tolerant smells for my nose at a time when anything I smelt I would either love or hate due to hormones being all over the place! I always tend to opt now for the more liquid lotion which can come in a pump dispenser or the handy small packs which I can carry around in my handbag although I have in the past used the tub of the solid butter.
For reviewing purposes this cocoa butter liquid lotion is a which is filled with Vitamin E. It is a creamy-beige colour which pours easily and can easily be applied all over the body - this is one of the few products I would actually also use on my face! Although I did not particularly use it on my face too often as it usually leaves my face looking quite shiny; a look which I definitely am not a fan of!
The lotion was easily absorbed into my skin and left my skin soft and completely moisturised. Disappointingly despite the lovely tales I was told, religious use of this cream did not keep any stretch marks at bay whatsoever! However I do not blame this product too much as I am also aware stretch marks are simply genetic, an so if you are prone to get them, you will get them regardless how much money is spent on creams and oils. In a positive light, I do not horrifyingly bad stretchmarks and I do contribute this to consistently using this cocoa butter as it does reduce the harsh appearance of them and prevents one from expanding into a million more! So it did help contain the stretchmarks I was already going to get.
Overall I do love this product, although tend to only use it for short periods of time and it is not my long running body cream as I have since moved onto Vaseline's version of cocoa butter. Nonetheless this is an ace lotion and I would still recommend it :)
Summary: cocoa butter from a reputable brand which smells lovely
