Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula
Advantages: smell, price, soft skin, smooth, revives dry skin, lasts for days
Disadvantages: bottle isn't the best design
I have been using Palmers cocoa butter formula on and off for years now. I first discovered it in my teens and continually return to the brand as I love their products.
There are many different products on offer from this brand, a large number of which I have tried. This is the staple moisturiser which is essential for anyones beauty closet. I usually have one of these in reserve for a big night out or for when my skin is feeling particularly neglected.
I'm not massively into moisturising and I find my skin doesn't need constant attention, just the occasional bit of TLC. I also don't have the time nowadays to pay that much attention to my skin or have a beauty regime in place - I work 4 jobs, am training to be a teacher and have a long distance boyfriend so most of my time is already taken up. That said, when my skin does need some attention I like to give it the best to rejuvenate it and revive it after weeks of neglect.
If I moisturise it tends to be when I have just had a bath/shower and am smooth all over. It is also usually when I am going out or visiting my boyfriend. I will have probably exfoliated, pumiced, waxed and shaved every inch of my body so in places my skin might be a little dry or sore and therefore needs some attention. This is when I whip out my cocoa butter and begin to apply.
The formula is a pale yellow creamy colour and has the most amazing smell. It's hard to describe because it isn't exactly a chocolatey smell, it is probably best described as a super creamy hot chocolate scent which smells amazing and lasts on my body for hours. My boyfriend often comments that I smell good when I have used it and I always for hours after smell my skin as it smells good enough to eat. The formula is very creamy and quite thick, it spreads onto your skin easily though and feels quite lightweight once applied. What I like most about it is how creamy and rich it feels, I can instantly feel the good work it is doing for my skin. It leaves me feeling soft for days and definitely helps to boost the condition of my skin.
The formula in this instance comes in a squeezy bottle with a flip lid and application hole. I have used other designs (pump and pot) and find this one to be average. The bottle is good until you begin to get to the end of the contents and then it becomes really hard to use. The plastic of the bottle is white so you can't see how much it left and it is also quite thick plastic so it becomes harder to squeeze the less product there is in the bottle. I also find that if I run out and want to cut the bottle open this hard plastic makes that difficult. I still buy this cream in this bottle fairly regularly so it doesn't put me off using it, it just makes it a little bit harder to get along with.
You can generally find this cream for under £3 and obviously there are cheaper deals to be had online. I personally love everything about it - it makes my skin feeling amazing, it smells delicious and it lasts for days.
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this cream to you if you are looking for a body moisturiser to boost the condition of your skin.
Summary: A lovely creamy moisturiser for your body.
