      Advantages

      Disadvantages

It's not as hydrating as you'd like, but it certainly has positive effects on the skin.

      *Who is this for ?*

I have a combination skin type, which is prone to breakouts and it works great.......however.......for the first two weeks I looked horrendous. I broke out a LOT but I have great makeup that enabled me to cover up, so was it worth it ? Yes!! If you break out a few days after using this product stick with it, it's worth it. Whilst I wouldn't say it felt very hydrating on the skin, it cleared my skin, brightened it and gave my skin a glow. So, I wouldn't use this product if you're either VERY sensitive ( mainly because it contains 10% glycolic acid and that can be too powerful for very sensitive skins ) or VERY dry, because it's not really very hydrating in my opinion. As with all new products, especially those with more sensitive skin types, I would patch test, However, if you're prone to reacting in general, I would give this a miss altogether and save your money for something else.

Thus, I'd say in general that normal to oilier skin types will love it.

      *How to use*

Stick to these instructions vigorously !! If you over do it, your skin may react with too much too soon as it's a powerful concoction of ingredients.

Skin should always be clean before applying. Apply a very thin layer every other night for two weeks. After two weeks, apply a very thin layer every night. Allow 10 minutes for the product to absorb and follow with a moisturiser. The instructions on the bottle recommend to use this day and night after the first month, however, in my opinion I think that may be too much and would stick to this as a night treatment before your moisturiser. The bottle also hints that you may not require a moisturiser, however, unless you have a very oily skin type I think you will need one.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ( as with any product containing exfoliating ingredients ) use a high SPF during the day time of at least 30 !! This is great for pigmentation etc ( as with any acid based product ) but you need to protect the new skin that the product helps to reveal or your pigmentation and/or general sun-aging skin issues will never improve.

      *Why it works *

This product contains 10% Glycolic Acid, which is a sugar based acid that works by exfoliating the dead skin cells. 10% is quite high and I wouldn't recommend using any higher outside of a salon, so as far as home products go this is pretty strong. It also contains Arginine which is an amino acid derived from brown sugar which helps heal and has a calming action, whilst encouraging collagen production and also increases elasticity in the skin.
It also contains micellized Vitamin A & E which is basically a version of Vitamin A & Vitamin E that has been broken down into smaller molecules to penetrate the skin effectively. ( Vitamin A nourishes the skin, whilst helping in the exfoliation process, whilst Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant. )

      *Ingredients*:

Water, Glycolic Acid, Arginine, Glycerin, Ammonium Hydroxide, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Whole Leaf Aloe Vera, Micellized Vitamin A, Micellized Vitamin E, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, BHT, Imidazolidinyl Urea.
