      Advantages

      Disadvantages

It's not easy finding an effective anti-aging product for oilier skin types so grab with both hands!

There are a few different versions of this cream by Peter Thomas Roth. I use the ultra lite version as I have combination skin which is prone to break outs and I find the texture is perfect for my skin. That said, if you like what the basis of the cream is about from this review but you have a drier skintype, then I would recommend seeking an alternative version of the cream instead.

*Who is this for ? *

This is for a normal/combination/oily skin type that is concerned with the signs of aging. If you are younger and have issues such as blocked pores or skin tone concerns then I would use products to target your main problem first. However, this is more suitable for anyone 30+ who wants to fight the signs of aging, but also have some other skin issues connected with having combination/oilier skin and do not wish to excerbate those issues further by using heavier anti aging products.

Issues with your skin : Lines, wrinkles, slackening of the skin and uneven skin tone. ( If you also have pigmentation this is a suitable cream since it contains exfoliating and some brightening ingredients, but I would use an extra booster alongside this product purely targeting pigmentation issues. If pigmentation issues are your only concern then I would spend your money elsewhere. However, you will find that sun-damaged skin will tend to show other signs of sun-aging alongside pigmentation as time goes on. )

      *How to use*

I'm a complete skincare junkie and simply slot this into my existing skin routine for a boost. It usually takes the place of my moisturiser, which may give you an idea to it's consistency but it is light enough to layer serums etc underneath too.
This could be used day and/or night but I would work this around your suncream needs if you wish to use in this in the daytime. You don't need much, I would say the size of your small-finger-nail and I would dot it around the face and neck before you blend for more even coverage.

*Why does this work ? *

I love Peter Thomas Roth products for their ingredients and I'll admit that not all the products I've tried and tested have worked for me, but I'm glad when a product with an ingredient list like this lives up to its potential.

The main ingredients are based around Peter Thomas Roth's Firm-CELL-4 technology. This blends four molecular peptides - Argireliner, SYNr-COLL, pentapeptide-3 and oligopeptide together to work on different layers of the epidermis and is in their opinion more effective than the likes of Retinol for repairing and firming. Now most people scoff when you point out that a product has a firming action on the skin. This is usually because some skincare products have an ingredient which gives you a temporary firming action on the skin and that only lasts as long as you wear it, with the effect being lost once you have removed it. Also, I would say that for skins that have quite severe slackening of the skin you would probably be better off making an appointment at a beauty salon for a course of treatments such as CACI which have impressive results on slackened skin.

However, this is perfect for those with 'minimal' to 'moderate' slackening of the skin. So, how are skincare companies able to do it ? Well, they go about it by targeting the skin's collagen resources which deplete as we age and its elastin fibres which keep our skin firm, therefore, companies add ingredients such as peptides to products that are thought to encourage collagen production and keep elastin fibres healthy. Peptides are used frequently in skincare now, but companies like Peter Thomas Roth and Gatineau for example are always working on developing new ingredients, building on what they already know and what is already available to use in the market place.
Apart from the peptide complex, the anti-aging cellular repair also contains ingredients such as Vitamin A ( for it's gentle exfoliation and moisturising properties, ) Vitamin C ( for its skin brightening and anti-oxidant properties, ) Glycolic Acid/arginine (for further exfoliation values. The act of exfoliation itself encourages cell renewal, ) Arnica and Aloe ( to heal and soothe the skin ) and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract ( i.e Green tea extract for it's powerful anti-oxidant values. )
