I love these Pond’s Clear Pore Strips.
I have used them on and off since I was a teenager. I have blackheads and larger pores on the exact area that these strips cover; across my nose and the area either side of my nose.
~ Packaging ~
These clear pore strips come individually wrapped in foil packets inside a card box.
The box contains 6 strips.
~ Price ~
A box of 6 strips costs around £2.00, which I think is great value. I buy mine from a local drug store, but they are available online from Amazon.co.uk or ebay at a similar price.
~ In use ~
To use these strips you simply tear the foil packet open, which is easy and then the instructions advise to wet the smooth side of the pore strip and place it over your nose. You then just wait for the strip to dry and then pull it off quickly in one swift motion.
The strip is conveniently shaped to fit over your nose. It feels quite sticky when it is first applied. The smooth side of the strip that you wet begins to feel a little bit tacky when you wet it so there is never any problem with the strips not staying on your nose.
I find that it takes a while for the strip to dry so I usually occupy myself doing something else while I wait. After around 15 minutes it feels dry and the pore strip is quite stiff. I then quickly pull it off.
Even though I cleanse my skin prior to using these strips they always manage to produce results. I can see on the strip blackheads, dirt and dead skin cells that these strips have ‘stripped’ from my skin.
I can’t say I can notice much difference to my face if I’m totally honest, but the results are on the strip so they must be doing some good.
Despite the fact the strips are quite tacky when they are first applied to your nose, there is no stickiness or residue left on your skin after using these and my skin does not look or feel dried out.
I like using these strips although I do only use them now and again. There is something very satisfying about seeing the results on the strip and knowing that your skin is now cleaner and your pores are less clogged. I also love the fact that these are so quick. Many beauty products have to be used for weeks before you can notice a difference in your skin whereas with these the difference is there on the strip after around 15 minutes.
I would recommend these strips and I will continue to use them.
My nose is always dreadful for clogged pores and I hate the fact that then my pores look bigger so I will often use a pore strip to clear them. I bought these ones from one of the discount stores for 99p which I thought was a great price as it is a brand I have heard of before rather than just a cheap imitation. The pore strips come in a small cardboard box which is small enough to tuck into the bathroom cabinet, it tells you on the box that you are getting 6 strips and inside the box each strip is individually wrapped in a foil wrapper. To use the strips is pretty easy, I would advise opening the wrapper before wetting your hands as otherwise it can be hard to get a grip on the packet. You simply wet the smooth side of the strip and then position it across your nose and push down over the strip to make sure contact is made. I find it easiest to wet the ends of my fingers and then use my fingers to wet the strip as if you put the strip under water you run the risk of getting it too wet. Once you have the strip in place you simply wait for it to dry, I tend to find that the corners take the longest to dry and the main part of the strip dries within about 12 minutes so I leave the strip for about 15 minutes to get the best results. Once you are ready to remove the strip I pull from the corners on both sides of my nose pulling upwards into the middle of my nose. The strip is really good and you can see the results on it with all the grime that it has pulled from within your pores, looking at it makes me feel dirty but it just shows even when you cleanse and tone your pores can still be clogged. I find that the strip leaves a little residue on my nose after use but this washes away easily so isn''t a concern. My pores look fresher after using these strips, the strips don''t unclog every pore which is a shame but I can certainly see an improvement after use it''s just a shame they clog back up again. I would certainly recommend these strips, they are a good price, easy to use and they work as you will see on the strip however they lose a star as they leave residue behind and they don''t clear all my pores at once.
I have to say at first when I have seen this product I wasn't much excited to try it, but when I could not find anything else, I bought it.
It is pretty hard to find it at store because of the clean look of the box. At first when you look from distance at package, you think it's all white, but when you come closer, you will see a little light blue color on it. In the middle of the box is face of the lady with strip on her nose, what is easy telling you, what is this product for. When you open the paper box, what is recyclable, you will find six strips separately wraped in little plastic foil. It is easy to open it and you are ready to use it.
All you need is to put few drops of water on the strip and apply on your nose. Try to straighten it as much as possible, so no air bubbles will be between the strip and your nose. Now when you have it on, you have to wait for 15 minutes and then, you just have to slowly remove it. You will see the results on the paper if it works for you.
~~~What this product do~~~
Ponds clear strips will clean you pores and remove blackheads, but don't use it on piples, very dry skin or sunburned skin.
More information could be found on www.ponds.com
I find it in Walmart for $ 4.80 and later when I look to the target, it was there about $3 more expensive. So just look for better deal and if you prefer to shop online, you will find them for example here www.drugstore.com.
It might sounds a lot for 6 strips, but recommendation on the package is use one strip per week, so actually you will have one pack for month and half.
~~~How it worked for me~~~
How I already mention, I didn't want to believe that something like this will work for me, but it does. After you remove the strip from you nose, you can see all the results. This product is easy to use and it has a quick results. I would definitely recommend it.
I hate waxing. Why would anybody want to put themselves through so much pain for so little relative gain, unless you're that way inclined of course, but that's not me, sorry! I have recurring nightmares of visiting a beauty salon and being told to relax as hot wax is applied to my legs. Suddenly the lovely beautician is replaced by Jeremy Beadle who carefully places a cloth strip on my legs over the wax, looks directly into my eyes and says in a soft seductive voice, "Are you ready for it? Do you want it, do you want me to do it now?" So now you know why I won't go near the stuff, too many memories! But I wanted to try something new and so I thought what the heck, I'll try anything once. What has all this got to do with the product you may ask. Well Ponds Clear Pore Strips remind me of waxing. It works on a similar principle: wet strip, apply to nose, leave to dry, rip off. Not much difference really. What are blackheads? ******************* Blackheads are caused by over active sebaceous glands (the oil producing glands of the skin). The excess oil expands and thickens the pores of the skin. The oil then collects in the pores and hardens. The pores then become clogged with the hardened oil. Since the pores are open, the tip of the clogged grease is exposed to the air and oxidises, turning black. Results - blackheads! About the product ***************** This product should clear your nose of blackheads and other nasties living in the centre of your face for all to see. It's a shaped strip that when placed on the nose and left to dry, removes said nasties and leaves your nose feeling clean and refreshed and pores unblocked. Instructions ************ Make sure your face is nice and clean. Decide which side of the strip is the smooth shiny side; I find this quite difficult actually. They are too similar and I end up just guessing which side is the cor
rect side. Try holding them under a strong light, it makes it a little easier I'm told. Once you've decided, moisten the strip by first wetting your finger and then running it over the smooth shiny side of the strip. Then dry your hands. Apply the strip, wet side down, over your nose. You should find that it is shaped so it fits well, even on a generously proportioned one like mine! Make sure its in the correct position, smoothing out any air bubbles. I find its quite slippery and can be quite difficult to position, and quite tricky to make sure that it has good contact with the skin. Then leave to dry for approx 15 minutes. During this time it should turn very stiff. Be warned, don't try to laugh..it hurts! When the time is up, it has to come off. Now the only way to do this is to remove it very slowly as you want it to remove as much grime as possible. Start at the edge, obviously, and slowly peel away. It does hurt but its over quite quickly! If you find that its extremely painful to remove, you can actually wet the strip which should help to free it from the skin. Included in the box is a basic instruction leaflet to help you on your way. Results ******* Once you've removed it you can study the results on the strip. Hold it up flat, to eye level and you'll see lots of little pointy things that have been wrenched from your skin. Quite amazing really. You may think you've got a clean nose until you try one of these. So when the strip is removed, I find I have a very shiny, very red, stinging nose. And it feels like its suffering with pins and needles. This sensation lasts around five minutes but at least its clean; apart from the odd one or two missed bits but you can always do it again the week after. Its recommended to use only one strip per week, but you can use them more often if necessary, as long as you don't use more than three strips per w
eek. If you don't want to have to put yourself through this on a regular basis, make sure you cleanse and moisturise your skin thoroughly morning and evening, using a facial scrub whenever needed. You can't use them on pimples, sunburned or overly dry skin so be careful during the summer months. Conclusion ********** They are a little on the pricey side at £5.99 for 6. I find them quite fiddly to position and the longer you're fiddling the stickier it gets until it becomes near impossible! I really bought them as a one-off for the novelty value, and because I had enough points on my Boots Advantage card and I wanted to treat myself. Suffice to say that if I had to pay for them outright I wouldn't bother and just stick to a thorough cleansing routine. Manufacturer: Elida Faberge Ltd Price £5.99 for 6 strips
I have always quite liked the idea of pore strips. I have used a couple of brands, and have already written an opinion on one of them - Boots tea tree strips. Some brands are quite good, and make your skin feel lovely and clean, and some brands are a complete waste of money. I have decided to write an opinion on my favourite kind of nose pore strips and the amazing bargain I have got them for. It all started when I needed a washing up bowl for my kitchen, so I decided to take a quick look in family value for one. I didn't end up buying a washing up bowl, but noticed that they had these nose pore strips on sale for £1.00 whereas they cost about £5 in stores like Boots! Bargain! I quickly took them home to try them out. PACKAGING The packaging is a box with a girls face with a nose pore strip on it - oh and she will have perfect skin. On the back of the box is easy to read instructions with diagrams to illustrate how to use them. More detailed instructions are on the information leaflet that is included that also includes diagrams to show what to do. Each pore strip is sealed in a foil wrapper of their own, so they are hygienic and easy to store. WHAT TO DO You just slightly wet one with a bit of water on your finger, stick it to your nose and wait for 15 minutes. No fuss or bother, and you can do other things whilst it's doing its job! After 15 minutes (by now it should be quite stiff), you just peel it off, and then hopefully a load of gunk and other rubbish on your skin should join it. If you hold it to the light you can see bits and pieces on it, so it must be doing its job. WHERE TO BUY These strips are on sale in numerous shops, I have seen them in Superdrug, Boots and other places. The best place to go is somewhere like family value or equivalent cheapy shop, where you can get them for a pound! Usually in cheapy shops the instructions are in some other language or something, but these
are definitely the normal version, just very reasonably priced. ADVANTAGES The advantages of this product are that it removes blackheads and unclogs pores, they are not irritating to my skin, they are very simple to use with clear instructions and you can get on with other work whilst you are waiting, as they are not messy or fussy. DISADVANTAGES The disadvantages are that you may not always be able to get hold of them in the discount stores, so you could end up forking out a fiver or more for them, and don?t expect miraculous blackhead removal as it ain't gonna happen! CONCLUSION Overall, this product was definitely excellent value for money and I was very satisfied. My nose felt much cleaner afterwards and this is my favourite of all nose pore strips and I have used many brands - Oxy, Ponds, Boots Natural collection and others! I thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a good pore strip that actually does something!
Having seen Pond’s Clear Pore strips advertised in a well-known woman’s magazine, I apprehensively bought a pack from a high street chemist. I had previously tried Biore’s Deep Cleansing Facial strips, which I thought were quite expensive at £7.50 for a pack of six, especially as I was not completely satisfied with the results. However, never being one to give in easily, I tried the Pond’s strips. What They Do ========== These strips are designed for used on the nose and chin to unblock clogged pores and remove blackheads, whiteheads, and general dirt, oil and debris, which these areas can be prone to. Instructions for Use I followed the instructions outlined on the box, which are: 1. Moist the area to be treated with water, i.e. chin or noise – the water is necessary to activate the ingredients on the strip. 2. Apply the strip ensuring that it is firmly pressed down ensuring that the strip makes contact with the skin and that all air bubbles are removed. 3. Wait fifteen minutes, or until the strip has turned stiff and feels dry to the touch. 4. Remove. Note: If the strip is extremely dry and hard to remove, moisten it with a little water, which will help removal. Results ===== I was pleased with the final result – I did not at first believe how much unseen dirt was clogging my pores – although after use, the area treated stung for a short while, my skin felt quite soft and smooth to the touch, and it also felt cleansed. Where you can buy them =================== Pond’s Clear Pore strips can be purchased from major supermarkets, Boots the Chemists www.wellbeing.com for £9.99 or over the Internet from Pharmacy2U www.pharmacy2u.co.uk where they are usually cheaper at £4.99. Don’t take my word for it, try them for yourself.
my friends and i recently decided to end the war with blackheads and try clear pore strips.armed with a pack of cheek,chin,nose and forehead strips we prepared to get clear skin...... what a disapointment!after using the strips exactly as advised nobody could see any difference to the condition of their complexion and by the next morning all of us seemed to have a crop of spots sprouting everywhere! not only are the poor strips expensive they are incredibly difficult to apply and the concept of the whole thing is revolting(especially the whole..look at the strip to see all the blackheads ..thing) i would not recommend this product because they made no difference to my skin,made my fingers stick together when i tried to apply them(the instructions werent clear enough)hurt when i took them off and made me get spots.
I have been a regular user of Noxema pads to wipe my skin clean, but found that I needed to really rub my face with multiple pads to obtain the deep clean that I needed. This would really irritate my sensitive skin, causing a strong burning sensation and turning my face bright red for up to an hour. In general, I am reluctant to change hygene products, but due to these drawbacks, I decided that I would try a different brand. A close friend of mine suggested that I try out the Ponds strips. So, I went out and bought a box of these strips. The first difference between the Pond strips and Noxema pads is that you let the strips set on your face for about 15 minutes instead of rubbing your face with them as you would with the Noxema pads. After letting a strip sset on my nose for 15 minutes, I carefully rremoved it, and the feeling was amazing! It felt like I was taking a piece of scotch tape off of my nose and was gently peeling away the dirt from my poors. There was no burning and virtually no pain (as I said, it felt like removing a piece of tape from your nose). My skin was just as clear as it would have been with the pads, but I didn't have to rub my face, I wasn't in pain, and my face wasn't bright red. These strips are fantastic!
Nothing could be more unsightly that a nose full of blackheads. You stand in front of the mirror trying to squeeze them, but end up with a sore red nose. I have found a miracle product. Pond's Clear Pore Strips. They are supplied in packs of 6 strips; the strip is shaped to fit your nose. You just put the strip on your nose leave it for 15 minutes; tear the strip off now comes the fun bit , if you look at the strip you will see your blackheads on it. If you use 1 strip once a week you will notice a big improvement in your nose it will look and feel clearer and smoother. The only drawback i find is they are over £6 a pack and it's not really designed to be used on other areas of your face such as the chin and t-zone. But having said that, it does the job very well removes even the most stubbiness of blackhead.
