      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A rather disappointing product.

I bought this product after seeing Kylie Minogue advocating the miracles of Pond's Cold Cream - which I also have.

I picked up a tub of this from boots for around about £3.99. It comes in a white and orange box and the tub itself is thick glass with a plastic screw top lid. I liked the glass tub, it was different, but I also thought that the shape of it would make it difficult to get right to the bottom, as the opening at the top is quite small but the jar is quite wide. So unless you've got tiny hands, you might struggle to reach the bottom.

The cream itself is white, and I found, quite strongly scented. Not unpleasant, but definitelty more overpowering than my regular moisturiser. I didn't mind it at first, but I found the more I used it, the stronger it seemed to get! The texture is quite thin and watery but it rubbed into my skin well enough, however I found that it immediately left it feeling quite greasy and looking rather shiny.

Throughout the day it didn't seem like the cream absorbed into my skin at all, but just sat on the top of it creating a shiny barrier over my face, and because I don't tend to wear any makeup for work - just moisturiser - every time I touched my face, I came away with greasy fingertips.

Now I know you may be thinking that this is because I overapplied, but it isn't. I myself thought that at first so I started using less and less of the cream, but this didn't make any difference - I still ended up looking greasy and shiny all day.

All in all, I was rather disappointed with this face cream and ended up throwing it away after persevering for about 4 weeks and reverting back to my usual moisturiser.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A reasonab;y priced easily absorbed moisturiser

      Ponds Day Cream

As far as moisturizer is concerned it’s another product to which I have absolutely no brand loyalty; I must have incredibly tough skin because nothing seems to irritate it!

So, I decided to try this one out because I needed moisturizer, and it was “there”.

      PRODUCT AND PACKAGING

The cream comes in a tub with a screw on/off lid, which I like as I can get to the last bits of cream.

The cream itself is a white, lightly perfumed cream which is not especially thick, and which is absorbed easily by the skin. It appears to be non greasy; I say this because I am not left with a layer of cream on my face, but rather, the cream rub easily into my skin without a trace.

It is quite heavily perfumed, and although I like the smell, iy may not be for everyone. Also, remember that added perfume could irritate the skin, so I would steer clear if you have sensitive skin.

A real plus is that the cream is SPF6 and includes UVA and UVB filters, so it does provide some sun protection, although I wouldn’t advocate using it as your normal sun protection. It’s reassuring though, for days when the sun suddenly appears, and you realize you don’t want to soak up those harmful rays.

      PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The tub I bought is 75ml and cost the princely sum of £3.99, although I have seen 100ml tubs.

The cream is widely available in chemists and supermarkets.

      WHAT I THOUGHT

I have almost finished this tub, and have been fairly happy with it. Whilst not the most creamy, moisturizing cream I have ever used, it has done the job for me. However, for people with very dry or sensitive skin, I don’t know how useful it would be, mainly because it is perfumed and could cause reactions in some people.

The cream is easily absorbed and non greasy, with SPF added so as well as moisturizing your skin, it also protects it.

It is very reasonably priced, but I have found that quite a lot is needed to feel a though my skin has been adequately moisturized.

Would I recommend it? Yes for people who like a very light moisturizing cream, and whose skin is not especially dry, and also for skin which can tolerated perfume. I will therefore be giving it an average score, but recommending it although I have given my reasons for the recommendations.

      Thanks for reading.

      Daniela xx
