When I last visited Primark, I spotted these at the till and because I was running low, I decided to pick a pack up. There were priced at £1 for a double pack, where each pack contains 25 wipes each so I thought there were quite good value for money.
I noticed that there were three different versions available, to be honest, because these were an impulse buy whilst waiting at the checkout, I didn't really have time to review fully, only that one of the other options came in a yellow pack (tea tree oil) and the other in a white pack (4 in1). I choose the deep cleansing version which is also a 4 in 1 so is meant to cleanse, tone, remove makeup and moisturise.
Just like most wipes I have used in the past, they come in a plastic pack which has a re-sealable sticker lid on top, unfortunately, the sticker wasn't the best at staying ‘sticky’ and after a few uses, it hardly stayed stuck down at all. Removing the wipes from the pack was really easy, although sometimes if I pulled to hard, I would end up pulling two out. Upon touch, the wipes are quite soft to touch, however they are quite thin, however having said that, they don't tear or disintegrate when being used.
I use the wipes twice a day when I go away; once after I have showered in the morning and then in the evening before bed, on both occasions, they perform well and remove my makeup quite well without having to apply too much pressure or rub too hard. The only downside for me is that they wipes are quite dry, and especially when using at the end of the day, I have to use two to remove all traces of my makeup. Although these are designed to have moisturising elements, I do find that my skin can feel a little dry after use (although it does look ok and I don’t find this too much of an issue as I would always apply my face creams afterwards).
I have used them intermittently in the past but over the last week, I have used them twice daily whilst we have been away and I haven’t experienced any problems or adverse skin reactions. My skin feels in quite good condition too.
Overall, these wipes are ideal for a quick fix or for holidays, there are a couple of downsides however at 2p a wipe, these are ok so I would recommend and give 4 out of 5 stars.
The only reason that I bought these wipes along with about 15 pounds of other stuff that I didn't really want was because I was queuing for so long and all along the queue there was stuff for sale that I ended up putting some stuff in my basket that I didn't even really want. No matter I can always do with some face wipes though and the price did seem unbelievably cheap. These wipes only cost something ridiculously cheap like 1 pound for two packs and in each pack there are 25 wipes so they are even cheaper than the cheap non branded wipes in Boot's by a considerable margin. I have to say that I was a little bit nervous about trying them out at that price as I imagined that they would be absolutely rubbish. I only ever use face wipes when I am very tired and can't be bothered to properly cleanse because I just don't think it is very good for your skin to use wipes all the time and not properly cleanse and tone. The wipes were wetter than I thought they would be which is good as I think they need to be quite wet to be able to remove make-up properly. They did a good job of removing my make-up even the waterproof mascara. Unfortunately they also felt like they were removing several layers of skin at the same time as they were so harsh. They stung my skin and left it looking flushed and feeling itchy. They might have removed my make-up but I would rather have got up and cleansed properly had I known how they would feel. I ended up giving the rest of the wipes away to my niece who incidentally loved them and who wears more make-up than most of the cast of TOWIE. For me these were just too cheap and harsh for my skin but they would probably be suitable for teenage skin which isn't as sensitive as they do remove make-up well even teenage make-up that has been applied with a trowel.
I started using makeup when I was 14 that's when all the skin problems happened for me. I've never found the perfect makeup remover for my skin because my skin type always seems to change and recently my skins become really dry and acne prone. I bought these makeup wipes as they advertised themselves as for all skin types and 4 in 1 deep facial cleansing wipes. As a girl I know how at the end of the day you don't want to spend ages getting rid of makeup from your face using the recommended 3 step routine: cleanse, tone and moisturize so this is an easy option as its all in one.
I didn't expect much for a pound but you get 25 wipes in this pack which don't last too long but these wipes claim to cleanse, tone and moisturize which saves you the three separate steps. I can honestly say that these wipes removed all traces of my stubborn revlon colour stay foundation 24 hour which is a thick foundation and my eye makeup- maybelline colossal mascara which is the waterproof version so I am very impressed.
I always leave the pack of wipes upside down so the moisture goes onto the wipe that is on the top, these wipes have a fruity smell to them which makes me worry as my skin is very sensitive to fragrance.
After using these wipes I noticed a few red spots appear the next day which could be because of this as I was using my usual acne cream that I use before I go to bed at night. I did notice these wipes dried my skin out a little after I'd used them so as usual I applied vitamin e oil with my usual moisturizer to counteract that therefore it doesn't moisturize as well as it says it does.
I absolutely disagreed with people ever using face wipes as an adequate face cleanser, 30 seconds to clean your face cannot be right...but I have to say these were a pleasant surprise.
Normally with face wipes I find them to be very dry, but these are incredibly refreshing - giving your skin a pleasant tingle after use.
Normally if I don't cleanse my face properly, after a few days I break out in spots, but after having used these, I have had perfectly clear skin.
I wear quite heavy makeup and with some wipes I can use up to 5 or 6 in order to remove it all. With these I only ever have to use 1 or 2 at the most. They are vey kind on the eyes so they can be used to remove stubborn traces of mascara or eyeliner.
They smell incredibly refreshing and are perfect for a freshen up mid day or whilst travelling.
I also keep them in my bag and use them on my hands when I have been to the bathroom.
For £1 you cannot complain. They are better than other brands which charge 2 or 3 times that.
As a student, I haven't got a very big budget when it comes to things like this and as much as i would love to pay a fiver for an expensive pack of cleansing wipes, i haven't got the money.
Whilst shopping in Primark the other day i came across these wipes - which were in a pack of 2. The bright coloured packaging (and of course the price) caught my attention straight away. I have quite dry skin on my face so was slightly wary to how my skin would react to a product which was only £1 for two packets. However, i was that low on money i didn't really have a choice. I took the product home and for the price i paid i was really impressed. It took all my make-up off and each time i only had to use 2 wipes maximum. They were of great quality and i will definitely be purchasing them again!
Only downfall is that is slightly stung the eczema on my eye, not too much, just as much as other cleansing products - but maybe that is just my skin being extra sensitive. Everywhere else on my face was fine!
Overall, great product and fantastic value for money. Definitely worth a buy!
Every year at my work we do a secret santa and Christmas gone I asked for a beauty hamper. Within my hamper were these wipes, I've seen them in Primark before and wasn't too sure about them even though they were only £1 and even if I didn't like them it wasn't like I was throwing buckets on money away, well how wrong was I .. I love them and would defiantly recommend them to anyone! I used to use simple skin care wipes and I find these just as good and they do the job. I go through allot of wipes and paying the same price but for less wipes but I feel they do so good for my skin and I'm very surprised as since I started using them I have not had any spots and my skin feels great everyday. I will defiantly be trying other Primark products in the future.
Over the past couple of years I would say my skin as significantly changed. I've gone from having dry yet clear skin in my teens with no specific skincare followed to sensitive combination skin with acne on my cheeks at 22. Now I have to make sure I apply the correct products and follow a skincare regime daily to ensure my skin is kept under control. Being a beauty therapist myself and knowing what harsh chemicals go into certain products, you would think I would know better than to pick up a pack of primarks facial wipes. Right?
Unfortunately just like many of us, I picked up a pack of the wipes, thinking they may come in handy if I ever need them. Due to running out of my usual cleanser and was running late one morning, I grabbed one out the pack and used it on my face. Straight away I noticed the overpowering fragrance and felt a slight burning sensation on my skin.
Later throughout the day my face seemed quite red and felt awfully dry and sensitive.
From then I threw them away.
Other skin types may feel better about the product but I can certainly say it's not for me.
I don't have much of a skin-care regime. It simply consists of washing my face with water in the morning when I'm in the shower, and at the end of the evening before bed wiping off my makeup with a facial wipe.
I'm not brand loyal when it comes to facial wipes, and tend to just get whatever is cheapest as and when I need them. My boyfriend and I were in Primark just before Christmas and since he was buying me some clothes as a present, I threw two packets of these 4 in 1 deep facial cleansing wipes into the basket as we were coming to the checkout since he was paying, and I needed some anyway!
These wipes come in bright pink plastic packaging, which is I think one of the reasons I was attracted to them by the checkout as I do love that colour! As with most facial wipes there is a resealable plastic bit on top to keep the wipes fresh once you've started using them. This seems to work fairly well with these wipes (some tend to lose their stickiness).
---Using the wipes---
Simply remove a wipe from the packet (one seems to come out fine without wanting to pull out the whole packet) and wipe over face and neck, avoiding contact with eyes. I find that these have a mild fruity smell to them, and it's really quite nice.
These wipes aren't as moist as some, and that's a bit of a downside. However, they do seem to adequately remove my makeup (even when I'm wearing mascara), although I usually have to turn it over and use the other side of the wipe too. These wipes leave my face feeling reasonably clean and fresh, but I've certainly used better.
---More about the wipes---
The 4 in 1 bit means that they cleanse, tone, moisturise and remove makeup. I'm mostly bothered about makeup removal, and they do this. I haven't noticed my skin to be in any better condition since using these wipes as opposed to others which don't claim to be 4 in 1. In fact I have had a few more spots than usual lately, but that might be due to being pregnant rather than using these wipes.
The wipes are dermatologically tested, and contain a fair few ingredients, so check the packet before you buy if you have any skin sensitivities.
A twin pack of wipes (25 wipes in a pack) costs just £1. So at 2p a wipe they are better value than a lot on the market. However, they certainly aren't the best wipes I've ever used, and since we don't have a Primark locally, I'm relatively unlikely to be buying them again.
3 out of 5 stars from me.
I was given a packet of these Primark 4 in 1 deep facial cleansing wipes as part of a Christmas present. They are something I would not have purchased myself as I prefer good quality brands for my face, but I thought I would give them a try. They come in a pink plastic packet with the usual resealable tab and it gives you the ingredients on the outside of the packet and tells you that they are new and improved and are for all skin types.
The wipes pulled out easily and only one came out at a time. The wipes themselves are square and white and are quite soft to the touch. I would say that they are an average thickness for a facial wipe and although they feel moist they are not too wet. I would describe the smell as fresh and clean but is not particularly perfumed so they could be used by either sexes.
When I first used these wipes they did seem to remove my make up just the same as other wipes I have used but after a few seconds I began to feel an tingly sensation all over my face. It didn't hurt but it did feel a bit unpleasant and a bit itchy. I applied some of my usual moisturiser straight away and the feeling did subside. When I got up the next morning I noticed that I had some black smudges around my eyes so they had obviously not removed all traces of my mascara. I did try them again a few times just to make sure that it was the wipes but they caused the same reaction and I did actually have to wipe my face over with another wipe as I didn't want the moisture to stay on my skin.
These wipes were definitely not for me but I am sure that they will be suitable for other people. I would describe my skin as normal with a few occasional dry patches but I have not really had this sort of reaction before so I stopped using them. I know a lot of younger people shop at Primark so maybe they would be suitable for younger and less sensitive skin and at two packets of 25 wipes for £1 they are certainly affordable, but I think that my skin needs to be a bit more pampered and I would prefer to use a better quality wipe with less ingredients which obviously didn't agree with me.
As I hate waste these wipes have now been relegated to the drawers in the bathroom and I use them for cleaning round the taps and the loo, which they do seem to shine up a treat!
Anyone who shops regularly at Primark will know exactly what I mean when I say that the only reason I bought these 4 in 1 cleansing wipes was due to the fact that I was completely bored out of my head after queuing for the till at at one of their stores one busy Saturday afternoon at the Metro Centre in Gateshead.
Queuing to be served at Primark is awful at the best of time, but during the Christmas rush you really do need to take flask and sandwiches as the wait in always horrendous. It was due to waiting at the till for so long that I actually bough these wipes, as otherwise I really don't think I would have bothered. I had seen them a few times previously but had resisted the urge to buy any, but every time I moved up a few steps, there were just more and more packs of these wipes so I felt sort of compelled to pick up a pack and try them. My reasoning behind this decision was the fact that the looked nice (they were in a pick wrapper) and also the fact that they were only £1 for two packs of 25 wipes. I usually by Johnsons Baby Wipes for my face or I use Simple or Olay, but I though that these might be just as good ... silly me.
These are branded ad 'deep cleansing ' wipes by Primark and I can really vouch for the fact that they are just that. These would remove any sort of thickly applied make up I would imagine as they are harsh and certainly not suitable at all for sensitive skin.
The wipes themselves are white in colour, not too highly scented and are quite moist to touch. They are not overly moist, neither are they too dry. As soon as I used the first one of these wipes on my face I could feel and see the make up sliding off. I needed to use about two wipes (possibly three) to remove a full face of make up and afterwards my skin felt tingly, but for all the wrong reasons.
I am used to my skin feeling slightly tingly after using any facial wipe really, but where these wipes differ is that the tingling just doesn't stop. In fact, it intensified during the following half to one hour and I was forced to have to splash my face in cold water as it felt hot and started to sting.
They are actually meant to be suitable for sensitive skin (I checked) but these little wipes are ruthless. They feel like an industrial type of wipe that you might use to clean your bathroom. My eyes stung and watered, and my right cheek, just under my eye, started to swell badly. I do believe I was possibly showing some type of allergic reaction to these wipes but that's unusual for me as I do not have a particularly sensitive skin and I can usually use most products without any adverse reaction.
I am afraid that these wipes were just far too harsh for particular skin and for that reason I could not possibly recommend them to anyone. They didn't go to waste, however, and my husband is now using the remains of the second pack to clean his black leather work shoes and they have come up a treat.
I use these wipes everyday to take off my makeup. I think they are brilliant.
Unlike other shops these are very cheap and are 2 packs for £1. You get 25 wipes in each so they last over a good month if you use them for your makeup like me.
Some makeup wipes I have used in the past have given me spots but these are very good for my skin and don't do any harm. They take of makeup really well including waterproof mascara. They do not leave your face sticky either and actually make my skin silky smooth.
As I said before these are very good value for what they are. Most other brands you get can be quite expensive but with these you know what your getting. As they are Primark's own brand you can only buy them in store which is a negative point but if you live local to a Primark this shouldn't be a problem.
Being only 25 wipes per pack the packet isn't so large so you can fit them in your bag easily unlike some wipes which contain over 100 wipes and cannot be rolled up small to fit in your bag.
I'm not brand loyal when it comes to face wipes, I'm happy to use whichever wipes happen to be on offer, and as such I've tried absolutely loads of different ones. I've tried some which have quickly become favourites, and I've tried some which I'll never buy again no matter how cheap they are, these Primark 4 in 1 deep facial cleansing wipes being one of the latter.
I actually only bought them as an impulse buy while queueing at the till (for what felt like absolutely hours!!) to pay for some cheesy festive Christmas jumpers. I've seen Primarks face wipes at the tills many times, and wondered if they were actually any good, I decided to give them a try this time as I figured why not as they are only £1.00 for 2 packs of 25 face wipes. I also suspect boredom in the absolutely huge cash desk queue also paid a large part in my impulse purchase!!
I don't use face wipes every day, I'm normally a wash off cleanser kind of girl. But I will use face wipes if I've ran out of cleanser, or in the evenings if I'm too tired to go through the whole cleansing and moisturising process, or to freshen my face and neck on a hot day if I'm not wearing any make up. I do always take face wipes with me when I travel or stay over at a friends house for the convenience factor.
I didn't really find that these wipes had much of a fragrance, just a very faint 'clean' kind of fragrance. I like the beauty products that I use to have a noticeable fragrance as I think that's half the pleasure of using them. The face wipes are fairly damp when you first remove them from the packet, however on using them I found that they very quickly dried out when in use.
I found that the face wipes were effective at cleaning and cleansing my face, but only if I rubbed quite hard with the face wipe, sometimes I even had to use two wipes for my face to feel clean. If I was removing a full face of make up then I would actually need to use at least three. Normally I can just gently rub over my face with a face wipe, not so with these it was more like vigorous rubbing. As a result of the vigorous rubbing my face was left quite red and felt quite sore.
I found that these also left my face feeling quite dry and taut, I always felt like I needed to moisturise straight away after using these. If I didn't moisturise after using these, say after a night out and using these to remove my make up, then I'd wake up in the morning with dry patches of skin on my face, and I'd find that my skin was still actually quite tender. I've not got sensitive skin at all, but these actually felt very harsh on my skin, and felt like they were completely stripping my skin of any natural oils and moisture.
I only used about two thirds of the first packet as face wipes, it wasn't worth torturing my skin with them, they were only £1.00 for the two packets after all. I used the remainder of the wipes up as just as wet wipes.
I wouldn't buy these face wipes again, they are actually not worth the money. I used far too many in one go, making them not so cheap after all, and more importantly they really didn't suit my skin.
I'm sure any woman who shops in Primark will be very well aware, as I am about their ploy to get us to part with more money. It seems quite a simple formula to me! Don't put enough staff on the tills and then line up all around the area with cheap bits and bobs in the hope that bored, you will look and think oh well what the heck its only one or two quid for a little treat or two and before you know it you've bought a pack of two socks, some hairbands, hairgrips and a little lip gloss shaped like a cake and spent an extra fiver you didn't mean to.......happened to me the other day although I ended up spending six pounds extra cos I also bought these facial wipes!
I didn't even need to buy any cos I had actually bought some the other day however a pack of two of these wipes come stuck together with a bit of cellotape and each pack contains 25 wipes and of course that means you get 50 of the facial wipes for just a pound so in my opinion I may not have needed them but for a quid I had a bargain hmmmmm even though I didn't need them, I'm so female lol!
Well as I have revealed these come x 2 so you get two packs and both are exactly the same in their appearance. The packs are bright and girly pink and then on the front of them are told that they are Primark Beauty 4 In 1 Deep Facial Cleansing Wipes 'For All Skin Types' and that they are 'Lightly fragranced & dermatologically tested, these facial wipes deep cleanse, tone, moisturise & remove make up' and of course we told that in a pack there is 25 of the wipes and also the price is stated and then on the back of the pack other information listed includes being told how to use them and lots of information is also given in foreign languages and contact details for Primark are clearly given. Nice enough looking plastic pack this and it has a piece of transparent sticky enough plastic to the top of it to peel back and pull a wipe from under that and out of a hole.
I wasn't expecting much from these wipes and I was right not to so I wasn't surprised one bit by the fact that they are mediocre at best but then your getting 50 wipes for a pound so what really do you expect?!
The wipe itself is white and made of material rather than a tissuey paper or anything so that's a good start. They are a decent square size and robust enough too and I find that a wipe covers my whole face once opened out. They are not overly thick but they certainly don't tear or give up the will to live easily so I am impressed by that as well. The other thing that is nice about these wipes is that they are scented very nice indeed. I'd call the scent sort of soapy and light in fragrance and I have very sensitive eyes and heavily scented facial products can make them itch and run, again this doesn't do that and they are pleasant to use in the scent stakes and the scent doesn't linger about on the skin for very long after using them anyway.
For me though that's where my compliments for these facial wipes end I guess. I am a fan of cleansing, toning and moisturising with separate products and I use wipes for either as soon as I get out of the bath or shower as my face feels tight when using soapy products and I use wipes when I'm really tired and can't be bothered to go to alot of effort to remove make up.
These though are not right for me at all. If I use them just for a freshen up they leave my face feeling overly toned and tight and rather uncomfortable which leads to me then having to pop on some moisturer to help relive the tightness. They are not damp enough to help lift off grease/grub/grime off my skin and so I find I have to really rub and press quite hard to get them working.
Make up removal is possible with them though to be fair, again with lots of hard work and lots of wipes, so remember I thought 50 wipes for a quid was generous? Not really. Just last night I removed a full face of make up as it was my birthday and I'd been out for a meal and it took 7 wipes to remove the lot and even then I woke up this morning I noticed eyeliner stuck in my lash line and a bit of mascara gunk in the corner of my eyes and I really had thought I had removed the lot!
So although decent enough in quality and with a nice fragrance to them and the fact that to be fair they don't agitate my skin (apart from where I have to scrub of course!) they are pretty useless for me and my needs. When I want to cleanse my skin I don't want to have to put loads of effort into making a wipe work for me and so as you can guess I'm sure by the tone of this review I don't recommend these and I wont be buying them again! They are simply not worth the money, even though it is only one small, pound coin!
Only available from Primark stores.

I was in the queue in Primarks when I spotted these Primark Deep Cleansing 4 in 1 Make Up wipes. To be honest, I am quite lazy when it comes to taking my make up off, but as I was going camping in a couple of days I decided to grab a couple of packets of these wipes. I bought these on impulse, mainly because I liked the packaging (who couldn't resist a bit of bright pink) and the price was pretty good too; a double pack for just £1. You get 25 wipes in a pack.
I'm sure you all know what make up wipes are, but for those of you who don't; they are basically little cloths, like baby wipes which are designed to take make up off. To get out a wipe simple peel open the lid and take one out. I usually find that I need two wipes to take off all my make up - I tend to put a lot on you see. I also put on a load of mascara - several coats.
I was quite impressed with these make up wipes as usually I have sensitive skin and find that wipes like these irritate my skin and leave it feeling sore. I had expected these to be harsh on my skin due to the cost, although I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they didn't bother my skin at all. They easily take off my make up without fuss. They even take off my several coats of mascara easily without me having to tug my eyelashes out. Being lazy with my skincare routine, these wipes also cleanse, tone, remove make up and moisturise - which means that I can do 4 jobs all at once which means that it is quick and easy.
After use my skin feels clean and fresh. My skin doesn't feel sore and doesn't sting either.
Make sure that you press the sticky label back down once you have taken a wipe out of the packet so that they don't dry up. However I have to say that the sticker isn't that great as after a few uses it doesn't stick down as well and so the nearer to the bottom of the pack you get, the drier the wipes become which is a shame - although having said that, I think that it is the same with all wipes.
I use these wipes every night before bed - so I used two wipes a day in total which means that a pack usually lasts me around 12 days which is good as they only cost a pound - other brands can cost around £3-4 and so I think these are a great bargain.
So all in all, would I recommend them? Yes, Yes I would!
Thanks for reading!
