“ Brand: Primark / Type: Cleansing Wipes / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Cleanses, „
Quite often I will take a browse in Primark when I'm in the vicinity of one as I am a massive fan of the store and its prices.
Rather often I end up stuck at the tills in a massive queue and by the till (usually!) there is a massive array of cheap items and this is where I always seem to end up putting my shopping bill up!
I use face wipes almost every day as I find them simple to use and less messy than getting involved with cleansers and toners and the likes and these I bought two packs of (they come in 2 separate packs stuck together with sellotape) and cost just a pound so you get 50 wipes which works out at a cost effective 2p a wipe!
Like I have already stated you get two separate packs and both are exactly the same in appearance. The packs are oblong in shape and bright green and black in colour and made of plastic and have a resealable see through tab to the middle of it to grab a wipe out of. On the front of the pack we are told that they are Primark Beauty Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes With Tea Tree and that there are 25 wipes in a packet and then there is a drawing in white of a woman's face and then on the back of the pack other information listed includes being told a bit about the wipes, the ingredients are listed and then lots of that information is also given in foreign languages and contact details for Primark are clearly given. Nice enough packaging this is and I do appreciate that the sticky resealable tab does stay sticky and effective and it is easy enough to pull one wipe out a time out of the pack with ease.
The wipes are square in shape and white in colour. They are made of soft white material and are rather damp to the touch though not drippy or anything adverse like that at all. They smell highly of tea tree oil with a slight sweetness to them and so smell really clean and to use them of course you simply wipe over your face with one and after using it you are meant to bin it.
Nowhere on the packaging are we told that these are suitable for make up removal by the way and these are really aimed at just cleansing the skin rather than removing make up I think!
I use these often and I find them most effective on basically clean already skin (E.G no make up). They really do seem to lift general grub and grime off my face and leave my face smelling fresh and clean for a good couple of hours after using one the only drawback I feel these have to them is that they do leave my skin feeling a little tight and over toned however after using one I do apply a little dab of moisturiser which relieves that effect straight away. I did worry that by the scent of them they make upset my sensitive eyes but they really don't and they are suitable to use on every area of my face comfortably.
They do seem to leave my skin more matte after using them which is very useful to me with a greasy t-zone and they do seem to help to do that rather well so after using them that means that I get a better look with using my make up after using them although I don't think that these have helped prevent any odd spots from appearing and my black heads are as bad as they were prior to using these but to be fair I don't think that they appear any worse.
I do use these occasionally for make up removal when I'm in a lazy mood and they do work however I do get through about 5-6 wipes a time but saying that I do wear long wearing, hard wearing make up including waterproof eye make up however I can use less of these on just really light, day time sort of make up but really I don't think these are best for make up removal though of course they are cheap to buy and with effort you can remove it!
So to round up what do I think of them? They're ok for occasional use and do help with my greasy t-zone issues and they do tend to give the face a good cleanse however for make up removal....nah I wouldn't buy these with that in mind!
Not bad though and worth a punt from Primark for just a quid!
I recently bought these Primark Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes with Tee Tree Oil for just £1 for a double pack which I thought was a bargain. I don't really use make-up wipes but as I was going camping in a couple of days I decided on impulse, after seeing these on offer, that it would probably be a good idea to get some.
These wipes are basically little cloths, like baby wipes which are designed to take make up off. To get out a wipe simple peel open the lid and take one out. I usually find that I need two wipes to take off all my make up - I tend to put a lot on you see. I
I have sensitive skin and usualy find that wipes like these irritate my skin and leave it feeling sore. I had expected these to be harsh on my skin due to the cost, although I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they didn't bother my skin at all. In fact I was really impressed with how well these wipes worked with my sking. They didn't irritate my skin which was great as usually certain beauty items make my skin go red and bring me out in spots. These wipes work well and take off my make up easily without fuss. I tend to wear several coats of mascara and yet these wipes take it off without me having to tug my eyelashes off in order to get the mascara off - so they definetely passed the test for me.
I find the tea tree oil to be quite soothing on my skin - I also quite like the scent of these wipes and find that I can still smell the tea tree oil on my skin after using these. I did think that the tea tree oil sent may be a little bit harsh on my skin - but actually it is ok and I find it to be quite soothing.
Once you have taken a wipe out of the packet make sure that you reseal the label so that they don't dry up. I have to say that the sticker isn't that great as after a few uses it doesn't stick down as well and so the nearer to the bottom of the pack you get, the drier the wipes become which is a shame - although having said that, I think that it is the same with all wipes.
I only use these wipes every night before bed.A pack usually lasts me around 12 days which is good as they only cost a pound - other brands can cost around £3-4 and so I think these are a great bargain.
So all in all, would I recommend them? Yes, Yes I would!
Thanks for reading!

I've used Primark cleansing wipes on and off for a few years and purchased these Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes with Tea Tree a few months ago on a whim as the regular ones I buy weren't at the counter. I visit Primark maybe once every 2-3 months just to see if there's anything of interest there and usually just pick up the wipes at the counter when paying. I generally pick up the pink packets whose name escapes me right now.
The first thing I noticed when opening the pack was the very strong odour from the wipes which I really found quite unpleasant. I don't know if this is actually the scent of tea tree but it straight away made me think "I'm not buying these again!" before I'd even applied the wipe to my face.
On using the cleansing wipe to remove my makeup I found it was a fair old struggle to remove my makeup effectively. The fact that these are oil balancing wipes indicates they are more geared towards oily skin although the back of the pack says they're perfect for oily/combination skin. I have normal skin with veers more towards dry than oily so these were not suitable for me. I didn't think these wipes removed makeup at all effectively and the overly strong scent just makes me want to use them quickly and throw away.
The pack states clearly as do most products of this kind to avoid contact with eyes and if this happens to rinse well with warm water. Also the pack warns to keep out of the reach of children (although I imagine a child would automatically stay away from these after just one whiff of the unpleasant scent anyway).
2 Wipes stay moist right to the last one in the pack
3 Easy to remove wipes from pack
4 Pack reseals firmly
1 Really unpleasant scent (reminds me of insect spray)
2 Doesn't remove makeup very effectively (although doesn't claim to be a makeup remover, just a cleansing wipe)
3 Doesn't really seem to cleanse skin very effectively either
4 Dries out the skin
I'm giving these wipes 2 out of 5 as I'm not buying them again and they weren't much use to me (I have to admit to giving the second pack to hubby to keep in the car and he finds them just as unpleasant as I do). Maybe they're more suitable for those with oily skin. I'm definitely not buying these again but will keep a look out for the pink pack from Primark as those are definitely good value for money and definitely work for me.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Price wise these cost £1 for a twin pack, with each pack containing 25 wipes making these quite cost effective at 2p per wipe. The wipes are available for purchase at Primark as their own brand cleansing wipes.
I have always had sensitive skin so find it difficult to find face wipes that don't irritate my face. I paid £1.50 for these, i was hoping that they would be ok since i had never tried them. My first reaction is that they do smell great and are very soft. However that is as far as good qualities go for me. My friends have these and have had no problems with them and use them quite regularly so it is just sensitive skin that they affect. Once i wiped my make-up off the first thing i noticed was quite a painful stingy, directed mainly on my cheeks which caused them to go bright red which wasn't ideal. The next morning they had started to rash and i had to spend the next hour with sudocreme on my face so i would not recommend these for anyone with highly sensitive skin, on the other hand other people with less sensitive skin have said that they find them great to use and the smell is delightful too.
I wear quite a lot of make-up on a daily basis so it is essential that I have some good wipes that not only take off the make-up but also cleanse my skin, so when seeing some in my local Primark recently I was pretty sceptical but at £1 for two packs, I thought I may as well give them a go!
The packs include 25 wipes and are contained in the usual re-sealable plastic packs for this type of product. All too often, I forget to reseal the packet properly and have found that they do dry out quickly so remember to seal it! Apart from that though, they are initially really wet and therefore remove a large amount of make-up with ease. With other brands I have tried I sometimes need more than one wipe but this has never been the case with the Primark ones.
However, the real test for me with make-up wipes is how they make your skin feel afterwards. I wasn't expecting much with them being so cheap, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. My skin felt fine although maybe slightly irritated due to the tea tree contained in them (but I am aware this will be due to my sensitive skin as some people love the tea tree oils and say they work wonders!) I switched to the pink ones that Primark offer (with no tea tree) afterwards and these suited me much better and left my skin quite soft and cleansed and there was no irritation whatsoever on my skin which I often have problems with around the eye area.
Overall then, don't buy these wipes expecting the world! After all they are £1 for a twin pack! I wouldn't quite go as far as to say that they are as good as the main brands out there but they are a third of the price for double the amount so you can't really complain! And they do their job of removing make-up as well as the added bonus of leaving skin feeling soft and cleansed. I often grab a pack of these on my visits to Primark and would definitely recommend their wipes in general as great value for money but steer clear of the tea tree ones if you have sensitive skin and go for the pink ones instead!

When it comes to skincare, and cleansing wipes in particular, I am not too fussy. The only thing I tend to look for is good, moist wipes that will remove all traces of make up, and leave my skin fresh before bed. I normally tend to pay in the region of about £1.50 - £3.00 for a single pack of wipes, so these are often by good branded names. Whilst shopping for some clothing in Primark the other day, I spotted their beauty section in my local store. As I had ran out of wipes, I decided to just pick up some of these Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes with Tea Tree. I threw them into my basket without thinking much of them, but how surprised was I to be when it came to using these...
***PRICE AND AVAILABILITY***
The price is the thing which instantly attracted me to these cleansing wipes. They are £1.00 for a twin pack. You can only purchase these wipes in a twin pack, but not individually. However, 50p for a whole pack of wipes is incredible when put in comparison with some of the bigger, branded names. For £1.00, I would not have been too bothered if these were not effective as this is just a steal. These are from the Primark beauty section, therefore they are only available in Primark stores. I have however seen them in many of their stores, so they should not be too difficult to get your hands on. When looking, they are often located in a specified beauty section, near the accessories or located at and around the till point.
As stated, you get two packets for £1.00 which is fantastic. The best thing about it is that even though you are paying practically nothing, you do get 25 wipes in each packet. This means that each wipe works out at only 2p each and I think this is superb. The wipes come in a distinctive green/yellow shade of packaging, with a picture of a cartoon girl sketched on the front. As the packaging is distinctive, this makes it easy to locate.
The first thing I noticed when using these wipes was just how wet they were. I think this is fantastic, as it helped to cleanse the skin and remove make up easily. The wipes are much moister than some wipes I have paid four or five times more for which is incredible. The wipes are your bog standard, white wipes and they do not have much texture to them, making them quite smooth and good for application. As these wipes contain added tea tree, it means they do smell of tea tree. This could put some people off, but personally I love the scent of it, and know that it is good for my skin type. I recommend storing these wipes so that they are upside down when sealed, as this means that the first one you will go to use when you reopen it will be the most moist, as it allows all of the wetness to move down the packet.
I found these wipes incredibly easy to use, as they are so smooth and moist. I don't wear loads of make up, but I wear a considerable amount that needs scrubbing off - eye make up in particular. Because of this, I require make up wipes which will thoroughly remove even the most stubborn of waterproof mascaras. I really was not expecting these Primark wipes to do this, but I was amazed. Because of how wet the wipe is, it slides over your skin quickly and with ease, taking off all make up with just a couple of wipes. Eye make up removed really quickly and easily and caused no fussed. Despite scrubbing right into my eyes with these wipes, I faced no irritation unlike with other wipes, and overall I was really happy with the results I achieved from these.
Because of the tea tree added within these wipes, they are recommended for those who suffer from oily/combination skin. I have very oily skin, and these have worked wonders for me. If you have sensitive skin, I was stay clear of these wipes as the tea tree can be quite strong on the skin. Alternatively, if you are someone who has just normal/dry skin or sensitive skin, Primark did have another set of wipes which were targeted for those skin types instead.
It is all good and well finding cleansing wipes which remove your make up for the night, but it was the long term effects which I was eager to see. Although upon initial use these seemed great, I wanted to make sure they did no damage to my skin. I am happy to say that I had no break outs after using these wipes. I have now got through both packs in the twin pack and my skin has never looked better. I team these wipes with a strict skincare regime, and these have just worked wonders for me. The tea tree really helps to calm down the oiliness of my skin and keep it balanced, as well as removing tough make up. I have tried a couple of other make up wipes before which have made me happy, but these are dirt cheap and do more than I could ever have dreamt of!
It means something for me to have to preach about cleansing wipes, but the more people I can convert to these the better! It has saved me a small fortune in wipes over the past couple of months, and I continue to stock up on these every time I pop into Primark. I will now be staying loyal to these wipes from Primark, and despite initially thinking they would be dreadful for my skin, they have turned out to be one of the best cleansing wipes I have ever used. If you suffer from oily or combination skin, I would definitely recommend you pick up some of these from Primark if you spot them in your store, and at only £1.00 for a twin pack you don't really have much to lose. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps.
