I am not particularly brand loyal when it comes to facial wipes and tend to buy whatever is on offer on the time. Whilst picking up a few odds and ends in Pound Land I noticed these "Pure" facial wipes priced at 2 for £1, I hadn't heard of the brand before but decided to pick up a couple and try them out. They had a few different varieties available, I chose "deep cleanse" and "age defiance", I am reviewing the latter today.
Pure age defiance wipes are presented in white plastic packaging, the front of the packet gives the brand and product name along with the claim that these wipes will "moisturise and nourish tired skin and help smooth out the appearance of wrinkles making skin appear even younger."
General information is given on the back including ingredients list, warnings and directions for use. Once opened the product should be used within six months, a long best before date is also given. The wipes should be disposed of with the general household waste rather than being flushed down the toilet. The product has not been tested on animals.
The wipes themselves are white in colour and of a standard size, they have no pattern on them. Fragrance wise I find them quite strong, they smell fresh, clean and have a hint of Shea butter. I actually quite like the smell of these wipes and find them rather refreshing.
I tend to use these wipes at the end of the day to clean my face and remove make up. I find that one wipe is sufficient to remove all of my make up - even waterproof mascara. Of course the amount of wipes needed and the amount of wiping required will vary depending on the amount of make up needing to be removed. I have not experienced any adverse reactions whilst using the wipes nor has there been any stinging, in fact they are rather soothing and gentle. After using my skin feels clean and well moisturised, however I have not discovered that they make my skin "appear younger" as promised. If I am completely honest I simply do not believe that any facial wipe can live up to such a claim.
If you are looking for a decent cheap facial wipe that cleanses and removes make up then I would certainly recommend Pure age defiance wipes, just don't expect it to make you look any younger!
I purchased these wipes in a twin pack from our local Discount Store for 99p which is great value, I had previously bought the exfoliating cleansing wipes in the range and was meaning to buy those ones again but picked these ones up by mistake. I use a lot of cleansing wipes as not only do I use them morning and night and to remove make up but I work as a carer and often feel hot after running around so like to give my face a rub over.
The wipes come in a mainly white packet with some yellow-orange colouring on it, it states on the pack that they are "enriched with vitamin E to moisturise and nourish tired skin, help smooth out the appearance of wrinkles making your skin appear smoother. "The packet has a plastic pull back section on the top of it which pulls back easily and doesn't tear the packet and is resealable to keep the wipes inside moist.
Inside the packet you get 25 wipes so that's 50 wipes for 99p which is even better than the exfoliating version where you get 40 wipes for the same price, on opening the wipes you can smell them, they smell lightly fruity but remind me of sun tan lotion. The wipes themselves are about 6inches x 7inches so are a really great size and are neatly folded inside the pack, they are white in colour and the wipes are more moist towards the bottom of the pack than the top but even the first wipe out of the packet is moist enough to wipe your whole face and neck.
The wipes pull put of shape as you use them as they are pretty thin but they have a string weave so I have never had any tearing, the wipes leave your skin feeling really refreshed. The wipes are very good at removing make up however they don't remove waterproof mascara so you need a further product to do this.
These wipes are lovely and I don't have any wrinkles to test the claims that they will reduce wrinkles but my skin is left feeling nice and smooth after use, I would happily buy either of the packs of wipes that our local store sells although I would probably buy these ones over the exfoliating ones simply because an extra 10 wipes is an extra 25% on the other pack. I feel lovely and clean after using these and rate them 5 stars, unless I found another wipe at a better price I think I will now be staying with the Pure brand.
