Disadvantages: They scrach, they are very dry, they are faily expensive and they are for me anyway, not useable
OW OW OW OW OW OW OW! Man these are scratchy!
Having been convinced by many beauticians at Dermologica and Cinique, I have made this year the year I ex foliate my skin. Apparently it gets rid of the wrinkles as many wrinkles happen prematurely for various reasons. One of them being dirt and grim and dead skin cells caught in your pores and skin creases. If they are not washed away, they can expand and cause your skin to stretch, this can, if left too long, cause wrinkles to form as your skin stretches all the time with all the dead skin cells it has crammed in it. -I hope all that made sense! Please consider yourself now well educated in skin! Its what several people have told me individually!
So, on finding myself a boots £5 off voucher, I decided to spend it on Roc wipes. I wanted to used these after I had washed and rinsed my face, but before moisturising my skin. Once per day, at night. I had previously been using the Simple Daily wipes but these worked out to £1.99 after my £5 off (they are £6.99 in Boots) so seemed like trying. They would work out to be the same price as the Simple Wipes which are on offer in various places at the same price. But without the discount at £6.99 a pack, these are quite pricey.
The first wipe seemed quite dry- it was the first out of the pack so I can understand why- all the moisture sinks to the bottom. -Note to self- leave the wipes upside down!
It also felt very rough- I did try it on what was left of my eye make-up and wont be doing that again- it really hurt- not so much the formula- although yes that did hurt- but also the roughness of the wipe- it is just too rough to use on my eye area! In fact, it was too rough to use on my skin full stop. My cheeks hurt, my forehead, my nose...
The benefits do not out-weigh the negatives. They have a resealable packet, there are a fair amount in a pack but its no more then average.
I am now trying to find a use for these as my skin, although not especially sensitive, is just no match for these! They are said to be "daily wipes" but I am yet to see how they could be used daily...perhaps on my bathroom skin as cleaning??
I can see how they would ex foliate as they are so rough, but to be honest, they would need to be a lot more moist to achieve ex foliation through their texture. Instead, most wipes are either very moist (and yet not so scratchy) or are very strong/with a lot of alcohol which seems to pick up the dirt and skin cells, which attach to the cloth and are taken off the skin's surface. These latter forms tend to come in bottles as the alcohol can simply dry too quickly in a resealable box of pads.
I hope Roc bring out a newer better version of these- having tried Roc products before and been quite impressed, almost to the point of purchase (until I saw the price...) but these wipes? Never again!
Summary: Not going to use these again!
