Rodial Stemcell Super-Food Glam Balm Multi is a multi-purpose balm designed to feed skin with essential nutrition, restoring moisture and balance to dehydrated complexions. It's priced at £35 for a 40ml tube.
I like the packaging for this product, the purple colour is nice, although I don't feel it really reflects the high pricetag. It has a screw off lid which is not that convenient, a flip top would be better
The balm is quite thin in consistency as far as balms go, though it is definitely a balm and not a lotion. It has a very smooth, almost oily feel to it, and it's very easy to spread over the skin, a little goes a long way with this. It has quite a strong rose scent to it, but it's not a scent I notice for long after applying it.
When applied to the skin it sinks in fairly quickly and leaves a lovely healthy sheen on my skin. It doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or greasy, it just feels very soft and smooth to the touch. It feels really hydrating.
This is a multi-purpose balm they say can be used as a facial moisturiser or left on as a mask, or for eyes and lips, as well as many other uses. Personally I don't use it as a general facial moisturiser as I prefer to use a mattifying moisturiser on my oily skin, so I've been using this mainly as an eye and lip balm.
I was a little wary of using something so oily feeling on my eyes, but as it contains hyaluronic acid I wanted to try it to see if it had the great effects I've read about. I find that applying this to my eye area really plumps up the skin under my eyes and makes the creases under my eyes much less obvious. I don't have any lines or wrinkles yet but I imagine it would have the same effect on those. It does feel a little heavy on my eye area so I only use it at night as I don't think it would sit well under makeup for during the day.
Using it on my lips I find it leaves them feeling lovely and soft and supple, and any sign of dryness disappears. I am allergic to the vast majority of lip balms, but I haven't had any kind of irritation from this.
Yes, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a multi-purpose moisturising product which will come in handy for so many things.
I am always on the look out for the Rodial products as they are great quality brand and expensive too so when I saw the glam balm on the cover of RED Magazine this month (April 2015) and with it also being a multi tasker I was keen to give it a try with the magazine cover price at £4 it was a bargain (this product retails for £24).
This promised to work on lips and dry skin anywhere as a multi tasking balm. I thought it sounded a bit like the Paw Paw multi balm I had been using. The first thing I did with this balm was to squeeze a bit out and I'm sorry to say my first thought was old lady handbags!
I love the concept of a multi tasker, keep it in your handbag for quick fixes on the move. Sadly, on top of the smell it had another down side to it. Having been sat in my handbag in the car the product heated up a bit in the sun and went to liquid so when I took off the lid it spilt from the tube over the contents of my bag. I was a bit upset by this as you can imagine.
It does feel lovely on the lips and is a deeply moisturising balm. I could cope with the melting in heat if it did not have that awful smell to it!
I do think this is expensive for what it is. I would not pay full price for it but feel I got good value for it with a free magazine to read too!
I will use the tube I have but prefer the Paw Paw multi tasker to the Rodial.
