      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Not a great product, I won't be buying them again.

I bought these the other day as I had run out and couldn't get my usual brand from boots. I am a bit disappointed with these all round. They cost about £2.00 for 25 wipes, which is actually quite expensive considering the boots ones are usually on offer and you can get double the amount for the same price. The packet of these is a horrible dull grey colour, I know that doesn't affect the quality of the product but I just felt it was a weird colour to choose. The wipes themselves have quite a strange texture, they are not soft and smooth like most but they have a sort of bumpy texture to them, which is a bit harsh on your skin, it's hard to explain but they are sort of scratchy because of it. The smell of the wipes is quite pleasant, not too strong but quite sweet smelling. I have also found these wipes quite dry, I don't know whether that's because the packet has been on the shelf too long or that they are just meant to be that way, but they make removing make-up a bit of a hard task. Especially eye make-up. I don't know how they would be for sensitive skin, but they are quite a tough texture, so I can't imagine they would be great. All round a disappointing product from Sainsbury's who are usually pretty good.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Cheap and cheerful face wipes.

I like to use face-wipes when I am in a lazy mood or just want to give my skin a bit of a refresh and quick cleanse. I haven't bought face wipes in a while because I have found them to be relatively expensive and after having to use two or sometimes even three wipes in one cleanse I decided it was a bit of a waste of money. On the other side I missed my quick fix so while I was in Sainsbury's I had a look to see if they had anything on offer and luckily enough these were right in my eye-line. Sainsbury's isn't really known for its beauty range by Skin Therapy is one of the many beauty products that they offer. They also sell a huge range of other name brands but this is their own version of a premium beauty range on a budget. I walked along the aisle and saw just how expensive some of the face wipes were and then I saw these for a great £1.32 (usually £1.99). They are a pack of 25 Deep Cleansing Facial wipes which claim to be for all skin types and moisturise while cleaning and refreshing. Just what I needed. A cheap and cheerful pack of face wipes. The packaging doesn't look to bad either. A classic silver and white packaging it looks classy and far from cheap, and with their promise of 'no fuss, just beautiful skin' I picked up the pack and carried on shopping! When I first opened the pack of wipes I noticed just how fresh they smelt. I actually thought they had a faint vanilla fragrance. Very refreshing and soothing aroma which I liked. The wipe itself is bright white and I was surprised at how think they were. They were also really moist and quite large compared to other face wipes I have used. The wipe is also textured with the material on the wipe slightly raised, but it was still extremely soft and delicate on the skin. They were extremely effective in cleaning my skin and also they don't claim to remove make up, the wipes did a good job at getting rid of mine! They was not so good on the mascara but definitely gentle on the eyes. The wipes have so much moisture in that I found I only needed to use one wipe rather then the usual two which makes them great value for money. After using the wipe my face felt very clean and extremely fresh. It also left my skin soft and without any harsh dry bits or red areas which mean it was gentle on my skin. These are perfect for an instant clean and refresh and excellent value for money. I am genuinely surprised at just how good they are. I also rate the resealable lid at it really does keep the wipes fresh and covered. The clear seal really works and keeps them fresh, unlike more expensive wipes, the seal actually stays down! I recommend these to anyone who wants a quality alternative to a face cleanser or who wants a quick fix wipe. They don't dry out the skin and they don't add any extra grease or moisture. They are very neutral on the skin. These work well and are also friendly on the budget. Well done Sainsbury's!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A good cleansing option

As part of my attempts to cut back on my spending, I am experimenting with the cheaper supermarket options. Generally speaking, I prefer to use cleanser and toner rather than facial wipes, although facial wipes do come in handy for when I'm on the go or pushed for time. I usually opt for Witch or Simple facial wipes, but these are regularly used by my Mum so I have the advantage of being able to swipe a few from time to time to have tested them out before I buy my own packet. Having been suitably impressed with these wipes, I knew that this wasn't going to be a waste of money (as anyone who regularly reads my beauty and make-up reviews will know that I have a tendency to splurge on impulse buys that don't work or are not suited to me!). ***Using The Wipes*** The wipes themselves look much the same as any other facial wipes on the shelves. The main advantage for me is the fact that they seem to contain a lot of moisture. This is important for me as I have used many facial wipes in the past that are not 'wet' enough and therefore do not do a good enough job of actually removing my make-up or excess oils from my skin. Fortunately, this is not the case with these wipes, but it was been quite common with the cheaper brands of facial wipes in the past. The wipes are wet enough to remove the bulk of my make-up in a couple of wipes without me needing to scrub to get the job done. This is great if time is not on your side as you don't need to spend too much time cleaning your face. I usually find that around three wipes are enough to get a proper clean, but if I'm wearing heavy make-up or my face is particularly oily on a given day, I will often need to increase this to four or five wipes. ***Overall Thoughts*** These are not my everyday form of cleansing product, as I only use them every so often. Given the added moisture on these wipes, I found that these wipes do not dry my skin. Even though my skin type is basically greasy/oily, some products have tended to dry it out and make it look and feel more like combination skin instead. Overall, I really like using these facial wipes.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Feel and smell lovely but you'll need something else to remove eye makeup

I am always trying different facial cleansing wipes as I use them every morning and night. When I saw these on offer in Sainsbury's I thought I would give them a go. I think the packaging is really nice and makes them look more expensive than they are with its nice neutral tones and modern lettering. The pack also seemed to be a good size for the low price. When I opened them, I was pleased to find that they resealed well as it is very annoying when packs like this come open again once you have put them away as the wipes dry out and aren't much use any more. The wipes themselves are textured similar to quilted toilet roll which feels very nice against the skin. They are fairly thin but are not flimsy. The wipes are nicely moist but not too wet and the liquid on them is not at all greasy or soapy. They take of makeup such as foundation and powder well but are not so good at removing mascara or eyeliner. They leave the skin feeling soft and cleansed but you might need to apply moisturiser before putting makeup on as they are not very hydrating. But the best thing about these wipes is the smell. They smeel absolutely gorgeous and quite similar to Parma Violets sweets which I really like!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        They're worth a go!

When it comes to cleaning my face I think I may be addicted to doing it lol. I'm always wiping it as I find over time (particularly when I've wet my face) that it gets feeling tight and slightly dry and uncomfortable. I cleanse and tone morning and evening as a rule and wipe in the day with toner (if I'm not wearing make up) to help prevent that feeling. Now I'm not keen on relying on wipes to cleanse my face all the time. I'm a heavy make up wearer to be honest splattering ten ton of god knows what on my face with regularity. I'm a fan of liquid black eyeliner and lots of mascara and glittery eye make up etc and when I'm wearing all that I've usually been out partying and so I come home drunk and that's when I resort to using wipes in the main! For ease of use! However I need good wipes because I do get alot of eye infections if I don't remove my eye make up properly and once I left a small amount of eyeliner in my lash line (by accident of course!) and I almost had to go to hospital as my eyelid almost turned inside out! So my make up removing routine is now incredibly thorough! Another reason I have wipes at the moment is because I have been spray fake tanned (all over lol) and my usual cleanser and toner was ripping through my tan on my face like paint stripper so I wanted something more gentle and I don't know why but when I saw these they appealed to me. The Packaging.... Light mint green and white oblong shaped plastic packaging with a resealable piece at the front you get the wipes out from (slightly different to the review photograph). In white and black writing on the front I'm told they are Skin Therapy, Sensitive Cleansing Wipes and then near the bottom I'm told they are 25 Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes, 'a unique moisturising wipe for clean & soothed skin' which are Dermatologically tested. On the back of the packet in small black writing I'm again told what they are, a warning is given, I'm told they are not tested on animals, contact details for Sainsbury's are given, I'm told to bin the wipes after using them rather than to flush them and finally there is a bar-code on there. All in all simple plain packaging, nothing special about the packet at all but simple and functional they indeed are and they don't scream economy of anything either. Using Them.... Firstly let me point out that although they are called cleansing wipes, no where on the packet am I told they are to remove make up which is the sole reason I purchased them. So I have no idea really if they are meant to be successful at removing make up to be fair and I feel I must point that out. The wipes themselves pull out of the resealable flap at the top. You simply open close and it does this every time really well keeping the rest of the wipes fresh. The wipe is a white cloth and almost as big as your face though the only difference is that it's a square. Quite thick though not ever so, it's perforated and textured with bits of the material very slightly raised. Wet it is and in fact you can see a few little bubbles of moisture as you grab it out of the pack although it isn't drippy or soaking wet so they are easy and fuss free to use. As for cleansing a relatively clean face already... yes they are great. They remove grease and grime you can visibly see on the cloth, freshen up the face with ease and then you flush the wipe. Your left not only feeling cleaner but looking cleaner, face feels a little bit smoother to the touch and the job is done. For removing make up in my experience I need a couple of wipes. They do remove make up but you have to work at it particualry at removing waterproof mascara's and eye liners and things but it is achievable. You don't have to scrub too hard but it does take time to make sure everything is removed properly. Overall.... Not my favourite wipes but they are strong, don't stink to high heaven (hardly smell at all and the fragrance is nothing distinctive) and I do like the way that if you seal them up properly they stay fresh for a long time. I prefer these really for just quickly wiping over my face for a quick freshen up when I get out of bed in the morning or last thing at night and don't think they are at their best removing make up but as I said earlier I do wear of lot of products on my face and my products are heavy duty so in my opinion these would be great for light make up wearers. They aren't greasy and they haven't irritated my combination skin or dried anything out they shouldn't of either . They are worth a go if your interested. I paid £1.32 for this pack of 25, usual price £1.99 only available in Sainsbury's
