Advantages: moist wipes that refresh and clean well. Cheap.
Disadvantages: Only from Sainsbury's.
I like to use face-wipes when I am in a lazy mood or just want to give my skin a bit of a refresh and quick cleanse. I haven't bought face wipes in a while because I have found them to be relatively expensive and after having to use two or sometimes even three wipes in one cleanse I decided it was a bit of a waste of money. On the other side I missed my quick fix so while I was in Sainsbury's I had a look to see if they had anything on offer and luckily enough these were right in my eye-line.
Sainsbury's isn't really known for its beauty range by Skin Therapy is one of the many beauty products that they offer. They also sell a huge range of other name brands but this is their own version of a premium beauty range on a budget. I walked along the aisle and saw just how expensive some of the face wipes were and then I saw these for a great £1.32 (usually £1.99). They are a pack of 25 Deep Cleansing Facial wipes which claim to be for all skin types and moisturise while cleaning and refreshing. Just what I needed. A cheap and cheerful pack of face wipes. The packaging doesn't look to bad either. A classic silver and white packaging it looks classy and far from cheap, and with their promise of 'no fuss, just beautiful skin' I picked up the pack and carried on shopping!
When I first opened the pack of wipes I noticed just how fresh they smelt. I actually thought they had a faint vanilla fragrance. Very refreshing and soothing aroma which I liked. The wipe itself is bright white and I was surprised at how think they were. They were also really moist and quite large compared to other face wipes I have used. The wipe is also textured with the material on the wipe slightly raised, but it was still extremely soft and delicate on the skin.
They were extremely effective in cleaning my skin and also they don't claim to remove make up, the wipes did a good job at getting rid of mine! They was not so good on the mascara but definitely gentle on the eyes. The wipes have so much moisture in that I found I only needed to use one wipe rather then the usual two which makes them great value for money. After using the wipe my face felt very clean and extremely fresh. It also left my skin soft and without any harsh dry bits or red areas which mean it was gentle on my skin. These are perfect for an instant clean and refresh and excellent value for money. I am genuinely surprised at just how good they are.
I also rate the resealable lid at it really does keep the wipes fresh and covered. The clear seal really works and keeps them fresh, unlike more expensive wipes, the seal actually stays down!
I recommend these to anyone who wants a quality alternative to a face cleanser or who wants a quick fix wipe. They don't dry out the skin and they don't add any extra grease or moisture. They are very neutral on the skin. These work well and are also friendly on the budget. Well done Sainsbury's!
Summary: Cheap and cheerful face wipes.
